The EBORD Benchmark for Database Systems (데이터베이스 시스템을 위한 EBORD 성능 평가 방법론)

  • The paper presents the EBORD (Extended Benchmark for Object-Relational Databases) benchmark, which is an extension of the BORD benchmark for object-relational databases. The EBORD benchmark is developed to evaluate the database common functions that should be supported in modern database systems. Besides the 36 test queries already defined in the BORD benchmark, totally 22 test queries in five categories are newly defined in order to measure the index-relevant performance issues and database import capabilities. The EBORD benchmark also features scalability, use of a synthesized database, and a query-oriented evaluation. In order to show the feasibility of the proposed benchmark, we implement it with two commercial database systems. The experimental results and analyses are also reported.

Geotextiles Horizontal Drain between Earth Fills and Natural Soft Ground (토목섬유를 사용한 무처리 연약지반과 성토사이의 수평배수층)

  • This paper presents a study on the discharge capacity of geotextiles as a horizontal drain layer placed between the layers of earth fill and natural soft ground. Required discharge capacity of geotextiles as drain layers estimated by consolidation analysis is proportional to the consolidation coefficient of the ground soils and the width of the earth fills. The field discharge capacity of the geotextiles are measured by the hydraulic transmissivity test. And the results show wide variation according to the material characteristics of geotextiles, water content of the soils, vertical pressure, and etc. For the short horizontal drain length, geotextile filter mat can be used for the horizontal drain layer. And f3r the long drain($25{\sim}55m$), it is used for the drain together with Bord Drain.

An Adaptive Contention Windows Adjustment Scheme Based on the Access Category for OnBord-Unit in IEEE 802.11p (IEEE 802.11p에서 차량단말기간에 혼잡상황 해결을 위한 동적 충돌 윈도우 향상 기법)

  • The study aims at offering a solution to the problems of transmission delay and data throughput decrease as the number of contending On-Board Units (OBU) increases by applying CSMA medium access control protocol based upon IEEE 802.11p. In a competition-based medium, contention probability becomes high as OBU increases. In order to improve the performance of this medium access layer, the author proposes EDCA which a adaptive adjustment of the Contention Windows (CW) considering traffic density and data type. EDCA applies fixed values of Minimum Contention Window (CWmin) and Maximum Contention Window (CWmax) for each of four kinds of Access Categories (AC) for channel-specific service differentiation. EDCA does not guarantee the channel-specific features and network state whereas it guarantees inter-AC differentiation by classifying into traffic features. Thus it is not possible to actively respond to a contention caused by network congestion occurring in a short moment in channel. As a solution, CWminAS(CWmin Adaptation Scheme) and ACATICT(Adaptive Contention window Adjustment Technique based on Individual Class Traffic) are proposed as active CW control techniques. In previous researches, the contention probabilities for each value of AC were not examined or a single channel based AC value was considered. And the channel-specific demands of IEEE 802.11p and the corresponding contention probabilities were not reflected in the studies. The study considers the collision number of a previous service section and the current network congestion proposes a dynamic control technique ACCW(Adaptive Control of Contention windows in considering the WAVE situation) for CW of the next channel.

  • The purpose of this study is to realize DHCP server based on embedded system. To achieve this, embedded Linux was ported in ez Bord-M01 mounted with Intel Strong ARM SA1110 processor, and ethernet-based network was constructed for network function. In this way, this study suggests embedded DHCP server where Window and Linux client hosts are dynamically configurated as network information by dynamically assigning network information in embedded board.

  • In den 30er Jahren fing man an, sich Gedanken $\ddot{u}ber$ eine internationale Regelung der Rechtsstellung des Luftfahrtpersonals zu machen, um Konflikte zwischen den verschiedenen nationalen Gesetzgebungen hinsichtlich der Handlungen des Luftfahrtpersonals bei der Aus bung seiner Verrichtungen zu verhindern. Aber bisher gibt es keine ausreichende Erfolg. Aus dem Vorhergehenden ergibt sich, $da{\beta}$ eine internationale Regelung der Rechtsstellung des Personals der Zivilluftfahrt erw nscht $w\ddot{a}re$. In der Praxis wird dies jedoch wegen der verschiedenen Arbeitsgesetzgebungen und der anderen nationalen Bestimmungen schwer durchzuf hren sein. Weil aber das Luftfahrtpersonal, insbesondere das Flugpersonal, eine arbeits - und sozialrechtliche Sonderstellung einnimmt, $w\ddot{a}re$ es zu empfehlen, allgemeine internationale Richtlinie zu schaffen, welche in den nationalen $Gesamtarbeitsvertr\ddot{a}gen$ $n\ddot{a}her$ ausgearbeitet werden $k\hat{o}nnten$, sowohl $f\ddot{u}r$ das Kabinenpersonal als $f\ddot{u}r$ die Piloten. Ferner $d\ddot{u}rfte$ es dringend notwendig sein, die Haftpflicht des Kommandanten ausf hrlicher und einheitlicher zu regeln, weil die Intensivierung des Lufttransports und die Anzahl der Flugg ste $st\ddot{a}ndig$ zunehmen. Hinsichtlich der Befugnisse des Kommandanten im Faile von an Bord des Luftfahrzeuges begangenen strafbaren Handlungen gibt das Abkommen von Tokio einige Bestimmungen. Die zivilrechtlichen Aspekte seiner Stellung sind noch nicht festgelegt. Es $k\ddot{o}nnte$ bei internationalen Regelung eine Vorschrift aufgenommen werden, die es $erm\ddot{o}glicht$, einem anderen als dem Kommandanten aile Vollmachten zu erteilen. $Au{\beta}erdem$ $k\ddot{o}nnten$ Regelungen geschaffen werden, welche die Rolle der $\ddot{u}brigen$ Besatzung bei der $Unterst\ddot{u}zung$ des Kommandanten $n\ddot{a}her$ umschreiben. $K\hat{o}nnte$ eine internationale Regelung in diesen Punkten erzielt werden, so $w\ddot{a}re$ sowohl der Einheitlichkeit der Rechtsvorschriften als auch der Rechtssicherheit gedient.

  • Most network equipment is an embedded system designed to execute specific function. An embedded system is an electronic control system mixing hardware and software to execute only fixed function for the purpose of system, not confuter, performing diverse function for a wide use. Early embedded system executed only simple function, combining specific function with optimization, a micro size, and low power, but it has developed to meet complex and diverse system. The purpose of this study is to realize DHCP server based on embedded system. Three Different Viruses Isolated from Typical Weed Plants that Grown Adjacent to Common Crop Fields

  • Weeds are widely grown in the field and are infected by many viruses. A survey was conducted to identify viruses infecting weeds in Korea. Virus-infected weed samples including Rorippa indica (L.) Hiern, R. islandica (Oed.) Bord, Crepidiastrum denticulatum (Houtt.) Pak & Kawanno, Achyranthes japonica (Miq.) Nakai, and Chrysanthemum boreale (Makino) Makino were collected in Kyonggi Province. These weeds were grown in the greenhouse and were isolated on 10 test plants. Several virus isolates were isolated fron infected tissues and were further studied by host range assay, serological test, electron microscopy (EM), reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and sequencing. Each isolated virus strain was mechanically transmitted to weeds and various hosts including Nicotiana spp., Brassica spp., Vigna unguiculata, Capsicum annuum, and Cucumis sativus and showed systemic mosaic, vein clearing, necrosis, mottle, malformation, chlorosis, and/or death of host plants in some cases. Each virus was then purified using infected leaves and observed by EM. From these results three viruses were isolated and identified as Turnip mosaic virus (TuMV), Broad bean wilt virus (BBWV), and Cucumber mosaic virus (CMV). RT-PCR using virus-specific oligonucleotide primers and the cloning were conducted to determine the nucleotide sequences of coat proteins of the three viruses their amino acid sequence were deduced. The amino acid sequence homologies were about 92.7 to 99.7%, 96.2 to 97.7%, and 93.9 to 98.6% to other reported TuMV, BBWV, and CMV strains, respectively. These results suggest that many weeds may serve as primary inoculum source of diseases caused by TuMV, BBWV, CMV and that the management of these viral diseases can be achieved through weed control.

Association of vitamin E levels with metabolic syndrome, and metabolic syndrome components among adults (성인의 비타민E 수준에 따른 대사증후군 및 대사증후군 요인과의 연관성)

  • This study identified vitamin E associated with metabolic syndrome and metabolic syndrome components among Korean adults aged over 19 years. Secondary data from the 2016-2018 Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey were used for this study. Data from 6,425 were analyzed by logistic regression analysis using a complex sample procedure. As a result of logistic regression analysis, the odds ratio was increased in the group with high vitamin E levels compared to the group with normal vitamin E levels. There are metabolic syndrome (Adjusted Odds Ratio [AOR]: 1.889, 95% Confidence Interval [CI]: 1.550-2.303, p<.001), abdominal obesity (AOR: 1.444, CI: 1.205-1.730, p<.001), hyperglyceridemia(AOR: 3.182, CI: 2.641-3.835, p<.001), systolic blood pressure (AOR: 1.711, CI: 1.446-2.026, p<.001), diastolic blood pressure (AOR: 1.806, CI: 1.521-2.144, p<.001), low high density lipoprotein cholesterol (AOR: 1.558, CI: 1.060-2.290, p=.024). Therefore vitamin E was associated with metaboic syndrome and metabolic syndrome components. So when providing nursing intervention for people with metabolic syndrome, education on vitamin E should be actively included.

Die Problematik auf gesetzliche Terminologie und gewerbliche Nutzung von Drohne (드론의 현행 법적 정의와 상업적 운용에 따른 문제점)

  • Auf die ganze Welt macht unbemannte $Flugger{\ddot{a}}te$(sog.Drohnen) in vielen Bereichen rasch Fortschritte und Anwendungen gezeigt. Nachdem ferngesteuerte Drohnen $urspr{\ddot{u}}nglich$ $prim{\ddot{a}}r$ $f{\ddot{u}}r$ $milit{\ddot{a}}rische$ Zwecke entwickelt wurden, $erh{\ddot{o}}cht$ sich derzeit ihre zivile Nutzung sowohl im Freizeit- als auch im Dienstleistungsbereich(Paketdrohnen, Drohnen-taxi) stetig. Mit der vermehrten Drohnennutzung steigen allerdings auch die damit verbundenen Risiken und Herausforderungen. In Zusammenhang damit stellt sich dann die Frage, ob $gegenw{\ddot{a}}rtige$ Vorschriften im Bereich von Luftrecht zurecht gekommen sind. Es sieht sich gerade der zwei Schwerpunkt $gegen{\ddot{u}}ber$. Erstens kann $Passagierebef{\ddot{o}}rderung$ mit unbemanntem Luftfahrzeug(mehr als 150kg) im $gegenw{\ddot{a}}ritigen$ Luftrecht keine Anwendung finden. Denn das kor. Luftsicherheitsgesetz und sein Durchsetzungsverordnung definieren die Terminologie von unbemannten Luftfahrzeugen und unbemannten $Flugger{\ddot{a}}te$ als "wenn eine Person nicht an Bord geht und ferngesteuert wird". Also soll Drohne nach dieser gesetzlichen Definition nur "ohne Person" geflogen werden. Das besagt ohne Piloten und ohne Passagiere. Zweitens ist unbemannte $Flugger{\ddot{a}}te$(weniger als 150kg) nicht auf Handelsgesetz anzuwenden, auf das ${\ddot{u}}ber$ Anspruchsgrundlage und Zurechnungsnorm des gewerblichen Luftverkehr geregelt ist. Der unbemannte Luftfahrzeuglieferdienst bringt nicht nur die Gefahr einer $Besch{\ddot{a}}digung$ des Frachtguts mit sich, sondern auch die Gefahr von $Bodensch{\ddot{a}}den$ durch Dritte. Gemäß ${\S}$ 896 des Handelsgesetzes ist aber die Anwendung von unbemannte $Flugger{\ddot{a}}te$(weniger als 150kg) $hierf{\ddot{u}}r$ begrenzt, weil unbemannt $Flugger{\ddot{a}}te$ $einschl{\ddot{a}}gig$ in Ultralight $Flugger{\ddot{a}}t$ ist, die im Handelsgesetz ausschließlich besteht. Technische Fortschritt und die dadurch $erm{\ddot{o}}glichten$ kommerziellen Anwendungen werden die Nachfrage nach unbemannter $Flugger{\ddot{a}}te$ wecken. Die Umsetzung der $bez{\ddot{u}}glichen$ Vorschriften sollte auch diese Entwicklung aktiv begleitet und $fr{\ddot{u}}hzeitig$ kommuniziert und erarbeitet werden, damit Hersteller und Nutzer $fr{\ddot{u}}hzeitig$ Planungssicherheit haben.
