Human Activity Recognition using Multi-temporal Neural Networks (다중 시구간 신경회로망을 이용한 인간 행동 인식)

  • A lot of studies have been conducted to recognize the motion state or behavior of the user using the acceleration sensor built in the smartphone. In this paper, we applied the neural networks to the 3-axis acceleration information of smartphone to study human behavior. There are performance issues in applying time series data to neural networks. We proposed a multi-temporal neural networks which have trained three neural networks with different time windows for feature extraction and uses the output of these neural networks as input to the new neural network. The proposed method showed better performance than other methods like SVM, AdaBoot and IBk classifier for real acceleration data.

  • This study aims at academically organizing fashion coordination methods for interview image-making, which have been attempted through seminars in companies and universities, through empirical studies including previous studies and surveys conducted by groups of experts. The methods of this study include theoretical considerations through literature and empirical considerations such as one-to-one interviews and surveys of groups of experts in the areas of fashion and interview. Through these methods, this study examined elements of image-making characteristics of fashion for an interview, which are required for an interview, by investigating and analyzing interview image-making. As a result of the examination, the characteristics of proper clothes for an interview are as follows; Items of clothes: tailored, tuxedo, Chanel, Eton, blazer jackets, button-down and dress shirts, shirt waist, bow, Gibson blouses, tight, A-line, gored, pleats, flared skirts and straight, boot-cut and ankle pants. Color: achromatic colors including white, gray, black, navy, pink and yellow. Patterns: solid, stripe, and basket check.

  • Portable multimedia Player (PMP) devices have been gaining in its popularity with the emerging digital convergence of data, video, audio, etc. Since the PMP devices are typically equipped with DSP, a bigger LCD screen, and a hard disk, efficient power management has become more crucial than the other portable devices. This paper builds up a hardware/software-based power measurement system based on data acquisition devices. Subsequently, it measures and analyzes the power consumed in commercial PMP devices under different types of events: the system boot & shutdown, video playback, and the use of different video-coding types. Finally, our analysis of the measured power consumption patterns reveals useful information for the design of low-power PMP devices.

  • This study intended to demonstrate a general system as an web server implemented by pure software solution and focused on collecting data by remote control through Internet and constructing its' control frame. To achieve these, this study suggested an optimized, low-power, ultra tiny embedded web server. When unpredictable accidents, such as heat sensor or industrial disasters, happen, it will connect sensors collecting building information each other by network and obtain final results via web porting, web hardware control or porting, or hardware test process in a boot loader on the basis of StrongARM SA-1110 processor.

  • In this paper, LAN Access Point is realized by making out bluetooth protocol stack in Linux Kernel, porting Linux in an embeded system employed bluetooth module. Hardware for a general-purpose embeded system is designed and Linux Kernel is ported after deploying Bluetooth Module. Also, Boot loader for system booting and management is composed, and Kernel is modified to meet with the system. Finally, Ethernet devise driver is made out, and bluetooth protocol Stack and Lan Access Point are realized. The possibility of TCP/IP communication through LAN Access Point to PC employed Bluetooth module, which is considered as client, is evaluated. From the evaluation results, we can see that the performance in Telnet FTP, Web browsing through Bluetooth LAN Access Point is satisfactory.

A CLINICAL STUDY ON BOOT CANAL TREATED PATIENTS (근관치료 환자에 대한 임상적 고찰)

  • In order to observe the frequency of visits and the distribution of endodontically treated patients according to age, sex, diagnosis, type of teeth, the author had surveyed the 17,250 outpatients of the Infirmary of the College Dentistry, Yonsei University from January 1976 to December 1978. 773 cases, 660 patients among 728 endodontically treated patients were studied. The obtained results were as follow; 1. The average frequency of visits were 5.95 in uppers and 5.88 in lowers. 2. The average frequency of visits were 5.79 in males and 6.02 in females. 3. At the age of under 14, the average frequency of visits were 7.42 in uppers and 6.76 in lowers. 4. According to diagnoses, the average frequency of visits in periapical granuloma or cyst were 2.80 in uppers and 3.16 in lowers. 5. The number of endodontically treated teeth had revealed as follow; upper incisors 27.94%, lower molars 25.87%, and upper molars 15.13% 6. The number of endodontically treated teeth by diagnoses were as follow; periapical abscess 45.27%, pulpit is 37.51%, tooth fracture 8.40%. 7. The number of endodontically treated teeth were 51.99% in the age of from 20 to 34.

  • In this paper, we introduce the client side cache of distributed file system for enhancing read performance by eliminating the network latency and decreasing the back-end storage burden. This performance enhancement can expand the fields of distributed file system to not only cloud storage service but also high performance storage service. This paper shows that the distributed file system with client side SSD cache can satisfy the requirements of VDI(Virtual Desktop Infrastructure) storage. The experimental results show that full-clone is more than 2 times faster and boot time is more than 3 times faster than NFS.

  • This paper presents the power control for the hybrid electric propulsion system. In this paper, the hybrid propulsion system consists cf the generator and battery as power supply system in ship. The hybrid control system is designed with energy saving algorithm for decreasing the power consumption of power supply system. This paper suggests the method to increase efficiency of hybrid electric propulsion system by developing battery charging system. The performance of power control system is analyzed with the experiment equipment for hybrid propulsion system, and the results showed a good property.

  • Many people is studying the embedded system. The embedded system becomes a small size device. The DOM memory is using in the mobile device and small site devices. This paper proposes light-weighted Linux O.S that is running onto the DOM memory. The embedded system with the DOM must have a light-weigthed O.S due to the memory space restriction. This paper designs light-weigthed Linux O.S for the DOM memory. The new designed LILO boot loader boots the new designed light-weigthed Linux O.S as a normal Linux O.S. This paper experiments comparing the designed new light-weigthed Linux O.S with a Linux PC.

  • 위성을 전체적으로 제어하는 탑재소프트웨어가 동작하는 주 메모리와는 별도로 세이프가드 메모리가 있다. 세이프가드 메모리는 주로 위성의 장애관리를 위해 사용되는 것으로 프로세서 리셋 시에 전체적으로 초기화가 수행되는 주 메모리와는 달리 별도의 전원을 사용하여 항상 Power-ON 상태를 유지하고 주/부 2개의 메모리가 주/부 프로세서와 Cross-Strap으로 연결되어 어느 프로세서에서든 접속이 가능하도록 구성되어 있다. 위성에 심각한 장애가 발생하여 정상적인 운영이 불가능한 경우, 위성은 Fail-over 과정을 거치게 되는데, Fail-over 과정에서 2개의 세이프가드 메모리의 비상운영데이터 영역에 장애 발생원인 및 프로세서 리셋 이후에 필요한 정보들을 기록하고, 미리 정해진 Backup 하드웨어를 이용하여 시스템 초기화가 수행된다. Backup 하드웨어를 통하여 프로세서가 정상적으로 Boot-up되면 세이프가드 메모리에 저장된 비상운영데이터를 이용하여 위성의 장애발생 원인을 파악하고, 정상운영모드로 복귀하는 절차를 거치게 된다. 본 논문은 저궤도 위성에서 사용되는 세이프가드 메모리 운영방식에 대해 기술한 것이다.
