간호대학생의 기본심폐소생술에 대한 교육효과의 지속성 (Continuity of BLS Training Effects in Nursing Students)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of BLS training in nursing students and their retention period. Methods: The participants were 48 nursing students enrolled in M University in Mokpo. Data were collected from September, 2009 through September 2010. Nursing students were tested for their knowledge, attitude, confidence before, immediately after, 4 weeks after, 8 weeks after, 6 months after, and 1 year after BLS training. In addition, their knowledge and skill of cardiopulmonary resuscitation were tested 5 times. Data were analyzed using the SPSS/PC 12.0 statistical program Results: Knowledge, attitude and confidence were significantly increased immediately after compared to before BLS training. Knowledge and confidence 6 months after, and attitude, performance ability and technical precision for ventilation and compression 4 weeks after BLS training were significantly decreased compared to immediately after. Conclusion: Overall retention of BLS training effects among nursing students, without reinforcement, decreases significantly after six months following initial training. BLS training in nursing students should be repeated every six months, especially performance training of BLS should be repeated every 4 weeks. In addition, to maintain the knowledge and skills of BLS, appropriate renewal time of certification and improvement of training programs are necessary.

기본소생술 S-PBL 패키지 개발 및 적용 후 평가 (An Examples Development and Implementation of S-PBL Package in Basic Life Support)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop and apply a simulation-problem based learning(S-PBL) package in basic life support(BLS). Methods: This study was used to developed BLS' S-PBL package throughout 12 steps of PBL package development model. Then, BLS' S-PBL methodology was implemented in second year student in the undergraduate emergency medical technology, and survey was done. Results: 1. S-PBL package model was presented based on conceptual model II of PBL ; PEL for professional action. 2. Quantitative analysis of survey was to the effectiveness of learning, 3.59 points ; 4.15 of BLS and 3.84 of integration and practical use of knowledge. 3. As to the satisfaction of student, S-PBL package management, tutor and self-satisfaction' score was 3.59, 3.82, 3.39 respectively. Conclusion: This study was suggested that S-PBL education would be necessary with improved tutor skill and achieved advantage of simulation and PBL.

흉부압박 피드백 기능이 포함된 기본소생술 앱 개발 (Development of the Basic Life Support App Including Chest Compression Feedback)

  • This study is to develop a basic life support (BLS) app using the android based smartphone and to evaluate the function of the app. Suggested app contains chest compression feedback function, the map of automated external defibrillator (AED), direct emergency call and the basic knowledge of BLS. Using the accelerometer of the smartphone, we implemented a real-time algorithm that estimates the chest compression depth and rate for high quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). The accuracy of algorithm was evaluated by manikin experiment. We made contents which were easy to learn the BLS for the layperson and implemented a function that provides the AED location information based on the user's current location. From the manikin experiment, the chest compression depth and rate were no significant differences between the manikin data and the app's feedback data (p > 0.05). Developed BLS app was uploaded on Google Play Store and it was free to download. We expected that this app is useful to learn the BLS for the layperson.

표준 기본심폐소생술 교육용 비디오를 이용한 실습교육이 간호사의 심폐소생술에 대한 지식, 태도 및 수행능력에 미치는 효과 (The Effect of Basic Life Support Education Using a Standardized Basic Life Support Video Program in Nurses' Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Knowledge, Attitude and Performance)

  • Purpose: The study was done to identify variations in Nurses' CPR knowledge, attitude and performance before and after BLS Education. Method: This study was designed to evaluate the differences in Nurses' CPR knowledge, attitude and performance. For the study we selected 167 nurses working in Daegu K University hospital. The study group was given a test before (pre test) and after (post test) BLS education. The BLS education was given by two BLS instructors certified by the American Heart Association, using a DVD and manikin. Result: The results showed a statistically significant difference the nurse's knowledge, belief, emotion and performance but there was no significant difference in their behavior after BLS education. CPR knowledge and performance was higher among emergency room nurses compared to surgical ward nurses. Conclusion: CPR education has shown to have a positive effect on nurses' attitudes towards CPR. It also improved their related knowledge and performance. Therefore, cardiopulmonary education should be given continuously, and different steps of CPR education programs need to be developed in order to fill the knowledge deficiency gap.

기본 심폐소생술 교육이 대학생의 심폐소생술에 대한 지식과 태도에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of Basic Life Support Education on CPR Knowledge and Attitude of Undergraduates)

  • Purpose: This study is a non-equivalent control group pre-post design, which attempted to observe the effects of Basic Life Support Education on undergraduate students' CPR Knowledge and Attitude. Methods: The subjects were 96 undergraduates in Jeonbuk. They were divided into two groups: an experimental group of 46 students and a control group of 50 students. The BLS education was given by three BLS instructors certified by the American Heart Association using a DVD. Data were collected from October 20 to November 15, 2010 and analyzed, using the ${\chi}^2$ test, t-test, and ANCOVA. Results: There were significant differences between the experimental group and the control group in the levels of CPR Knowledge and Attitude. The 1st hypothesis, that the CPR knowledge scores for the experimental group would be higher than those of the control group, was supported (F=157.58, p=.000). The 2nd hypothesis, that the CPR attitude scores for the experimental group would be higher than those of the control group, was supported (F=23.78, p=.000). Conclusion: This study showed that BLS education had a positive influence on undergraduate students' knowledge and attitudes toward CPR. We expect that BLS education will contribute to spreading knowledge of CPR and reducing mortality among heart attack victims, and we can see from this study how CPR training in combination with theory and clinical practice develops knowledge and practical ability.

소아치과의사를 위한 심폐소생술과 소아고급생명구조술 (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Pediatric Advanced Life Support for Pediatric Dentist)

  • 심폐소생술(cardiopulmonary resuscitation, CPR)은 심장의 기능이 정지하거나 호흡이 멈추었을 때 인공적으로 혈액을 순환시키고 호흡을 보조해 주는 응급처치이다. 심폐소생술은 기본생명구조술(basic life support, BLS)과 전문소생술(advanced life support, ALS)로 나눌 수 있다. 기본생명구조술은 주요 조직으로 혈류 공급을 강제적으로 하기 위한 흉부압박과 호흡정지 환자에게 구조호흡(rescue breathing) 그리고 심실세동을 개선해 주기 위한 자동제세동기(automated external defibrillator, AED)이 포함된다. 전문소생술의 범주는 성인을 대상으로 하는 고급생명구조술(advanced cardiovascular life support, ACLS)과 소아를 대상으로 하는 소아고급생명구조술(pediatric advanced life support, PALS)이 있다. 치과 치료에 극심한 공포를 가지며, 여러 이유로 치과 진료에 협조를 얻기 어려운 소아를 대상으로 하는 치료환경에서는 약물을 이용한 진정법이 고려된다. 이는 심정지를 포함한 응급상황이 발생할 가능성이 증가하는 이유가 된다. 소아고급생명구조술은 기본생명구조술을 포함하며, 심정지에 이를 수 있는 원인을 호흡, 순환장애 그리고 심인성으로 나누어 대처하는 체계적인 방법을 제시한다. 소아는 성인에 비해 심인성의 원인은 낮지만, 해부학적인 약점으로 인해 호흡이나, 순환장애에 의한 심정지의 가능성은 높다. 따라서, 스트레스를 많이 받은 아이를 치료하거나 진정법을 시행하는 소아치과의사는 소아고급생명구조술을 익힘으로써 응급상황에 적절히 대처할 수 있는 역량을 갖출 수 있으리라 사료된다.

자기효능 증진 기본생명소생술 프로그램의 효과 평가 -심정지 고위험 환자 가족을 대상으로 - (Evaluation of a Self-efficacy-based Basic Life Support Program for High-risk Patients' Family Caregivers)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate a Self-efficacy-based Basic Life Support (SEBLS) program for high-risk patients' family caregivers on cardiac arrest. The SEBLS program was constructed on the basis of Bandura's self-efficacy resources as well as the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation's '2000 Guidelines for CPR and ECC'. Method: The effect of the SEBLS program on emergency response self-efficacy and emergency response behavior such as BLS(Basic Life Support) knowledge and BLS skill performance was measured by a simulated control group pretest-posttest design. Study subjects were38 high-risk patients' family caregivers(20 experimental subjects and 18 control subjects) whose family patients were admitted to a general hospital in Incheon, Korea. Result: 1. Emergency response self-efficacy was significantly higher in the experimental subjects who participated in the SEBLS program than in the control subjects. (t=8.3102, p=0.0001). 2. For emergency response behavior, BLS knowledge (t=5.6941, p=0.0001) and BLS skill performance (t=27.8281, p=0.0001) was significantly higher in experimental subjects than in control subjects. Conclusion: A SEBLS program can increase emergency response self-efficacy and emergency response behavior, and could be an effective intervention for high-risk patient's family caregivers. Long-term additional studies are needed to determine the lasting effects of the program.

간호대학생의 BLS 교육과 CPR관련 응급상황에 대한 인식조사 (Perception of Nursing Students on BLS Education and CPR related emergency situation)

  • This study was to investigate the current educational situation for Basic Life Support (BLS) and perception on CPR related emergency situation and its relationship with basic nursing skill among undergraduate nursing students in Korea. Participants consider help from others are the most important elements in CPR situation, followed by the skills and knowledge. The majority of the subjects (79.7%) selected high and very high for the association between basic nursing skill and CPR management. The well systematized skill training may ultimately improve students' the ability to react on real-life accidents using well developed emergency management skills.

기본소생술 시뮬레이션 교육이 간호대학생의 지식과 수기에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of Simulation-based Training for Basic Life Support on the Knowledge and Skills of the Nursing College Students)

  • 본 연구는 기본소생술 시뮬레이션 교육이 간호대학생의 지식과 수기에 미치는 효과를 검증하기 위해 시도된 비동등성 대조군 전후 유사 실험 연구이다. 연구대상은 D시에 소재한 D대학 간호과에 재학 중인 2학년으로 실험군 16명, 대조군 17명으로 구성하였으며 실험군은 시뮬레이션 교육을 제공받은 군이며, 대조군은 전통적인 교육을 제공받은 군이다. 자료수집기간은 2009년 8월 24일부터 9월 1일까지였다. 자료 분석은 SPSS/PC 12.0 win을 사용하여 실수와 백분율, 평균과 표준편차, Fisher's exact, independent t-test, paired t-test, ANCOVA를 이용하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 시뮬레이션 교육을 받은 실험군과 전통적 교육을 받은 대조군의 기본소생술 지식점수는 유의한 차이가 없었다(F=.568, p=.573). 둘째, 시뮬레이션 교육을 받은 실험군은 전통적 교육을 받은 대조군보다 기본소생술 수기점수가 유의하게 높았다(F=19.407, p=.000). 이상의 결과를 볼 때, 기본소생술 시뮬레이션 교육은 간호대학생의 기본소생술 수행능력 향상에 긍정적인 효과가 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 따라서 간호학 교수들은 본 연구에서 활용된 효율적인 시뮬레이션 교육을 간호대학생의 기본소생술 수행능력 향상에 적극 활용할 것을 제언하는 바이다.

비디오 디브리핑을 이용한 기본소생술 시뮬레이션 교육이 간호학생의 비기술적 술기와 기술적 술기 수행능력에 미치는 효과 (Effects of Simulation-based Training for Basic Life Support Utilizing Video-assisted Debriefing on Non-Technical and Technical Skills of Nursing Students)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of simulation-based training (SBT) for basic life support (BLS) utilizing video-assisted debriefing (VAD) about non-technical skills (NTSs) and technical skills (TSs). The goal of the proposed study is the evaluation of a teaching method about the correct application of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Methods: The study design was a control group pre- and post-test non-synchronized experimental design. The sample included twelve teams of 36 nursing students. Both the experimental and the control groups received the SBT for BLS. Only the experimental groups received VAD where as the control groups had a verbal debriefing. Raters who used checklists for TSs and NTSs evaluated both groups. Data were analyzed by the SPSS 20.0 using Cronbach's ${\alpha}$, Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC), Mann-Whitney U test and Willcoxon signed rank test. Results: The experimental groups scored higher than the control groups in both TSs (p=.004) and the NTSs (p=.008). Conclusion: The findings of this study suggest that NTSs are an important factor that lead CPR successfully, so VAD can be used as an efficient teaching-learning strategy in the SBT for BLS for nursing students and nurses.
