Robust Control using Observer for Brushless DC Motor (BLDC 모터의 관측자를 이용한 강인 제어)

  • In this paper, a robust control system with the disturbance observer is proposed for BLDC servo system. The overall control system consists of the speed controller which is implemented with PI controller and the disturbance observer with free parameters. The proposed control system is designed the command input response and the closed loop characteristics independently by using two-degrees-of-freedom concept, so it can improve the closed loop characteristics with no influence on the command input response. The effective suppression of disturbance with the observer improves the characteristics of the closed loop of the system. And also, by fluting the bandwidth of free parameters, measurement noise is considered. To verify the better performance of the proposed control system than that of the conventional PI controllers, the performance of the controller is analyzed theoretically and some simulation results are presented.

  • A mixed method between $H_2\;and\;H_{\infty}$ control are widely applied to systems which has parameter perturbation and uncertain model to obtain an optimal robust controller. Brushless Direct Current (BLDC) motors are widely used for high performance control applications. Conventional PID controller only provides satisfactory performance for set-point regulation. However, with the presence of nonlinearities, uncertainties and perturbations in the system, conventional PID is not sufficient to achieve an optimal robust controller. This paper presents an approach to ease designing a Mixed $H_2/H_{\infty}$ PID controller for controlling speed of Brushless DC motors and the genetic algorithm is used to solve the optimized problems. Numerical results are shown to prove that the performance in the proposed controller is better than that in the optimal PID controller using LQR approach.

  • In this paper, we design, implement and apply network physical layer to 100 BaseFx optical cable interface module based on industrial ethernet protocol which is physical layer of EtherCAT that has ensure its open standard ethernet compatibility which having been provided with real time of control in network of intelligent service robot, can be process numerous data to sensor and motor control system. Through BLDC motor control performance tests, we try to propose suitability as internal network of intelligent service robot and automation system.

  • With the recent acceleration of industrial technologies and active research, wearable robot technologies have been applied to various fields. To study the utility of wearable robots, basic research on kinetic mechanisms of the human body, bio-signal analysis, and system control are essential. In this study, we investigated the basic structure of a wearable system and the operating principles of a driving mechanism. The control system and supporting structure, which comprise the driving mechanism, were designed and manufactured. Motion and load analyses were performed simultaneously for the design of the kinematic drive, and the driving mechanism was constructed by analyzing walking motion. The operating conditions of the cylinder were verified by stride via driving experiments. Further, the accuracy and responsiveness of the system were confirmed by comparison with actual motion, and the system safety was validated by applying loads.

  • In this paper, the equivalent magnetic circuit and FEM are used to calculate force density of linear BLDC motor. The equivalent magnetic circuit is hard to exact compose for analysis model and it is just applied to linear system. To flexible design and reducing the calculated and analyzed time, magnetic circuit has to be used for designing the linear BLDC motor and deducing equation of force density. Force density as parameter of permanent magnet and coil-side width that are important to determined force density can be estimated using equation of force density. FEM is used to prove reliability of equation of force density and to consider the nonlinear system. Equivalent magnetic circuit and result of FEM are similar, but it is little different by friction loss at the experiment.

  • This paper presents a method of reducing cogging torque and improving average torque by changing the dead zone angle of trapezoidal magnetization distribution of rotor magnet in ring type. Because brushless d.c. motor has 3D shape of overhang, 3D analysis should be used for computation of its magnet field. In this paper, Three Dimensional Equivalent Magnetic Circuit Network method (3DEMCN) which can calculate an accurate 3D magnetic field has been introduced. The method has an advantage that nonlinear magnetic phenomena can be considered and the cogging torque analyses requesting the rotation of the rotor can be performed by the variation of magnetization distribution without remesh.

  • A ferrite bonded magnet type brushless DC (BLDC) motor which do not have rotor core is analyzed by using finite element method (FEM). The magnetization distribution of the magnet does not have only parallel or radial direction. So, the direction and intensity are taken into account by the analysis of the magnetization procedure. The validity of the analysis method is verified by comparing the analyzed results with measured ones.

  • A turbo blower, driven by a high-speed blushless DC motor, was designed as a efficient substitute of a ring blower or a roots blower. Computational analysis and performance tests have been performed to investigate performance characteristics of the blower. Experimental measurements showed that the blower has a good stability margin. This paper gives an outline of design, computational flow analysis and performance test for aerodynamic evaluation of the variable speed turboblower.

  • In this paper, a novel sliding surface is proposed by defining a novel virtual state. This sliding surface has nominal dynamics of an original system and makes it possible that the Sliding Mode Control(SMC) technique is used with the various types of controllers. Its design is based on the augmented system whose dynamics have a higher order than that of the original system. The reaching phase is removed by using an initial virtual state which makes the initial sliding function equal to zero.

  • This paper presents the optimal design reducing the rotor inertia in order to improve the driving characteristic of BLDCM for robots. The parallel Genetic Algorithm is performed to rotor inertia minimization in optimal design. Also, velocity profile with finite jerk method is introduced to reduce vibration of BLDCM. As a result, a torque characteristic is same although rotor inertia is reduced 2/3 compared with prototype model. And, maximum vibration value is reduced by 63.4[%1 according to apply finite jerk.
