A Characteristics of Human Skin Impedance Including at Biological Active Points

  • The electrical characteristics of biologically active points (BAPs) compared with those of the surrounding human skins are studied. And we confirm that BAPs have lower resistance and higher capacitance than the surrounding skins do. We also find that BAPs have higher characteristic frequency than surrounding skins and the impedance spectra of BAPs sometimes have two semicircles on the complex impedance plane. We propose the skin impedance model that is proper to the BAPs and this circuit describes our experimental results sufficiently well.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate children's satisfaction with baps, soups, pot stews, one course dishes, and kimchies provided by elementary school lunch program in Seoul area. Two hundred and thirty two children enrolled in 3 different elementary schools participated In this study through a questionnaire developed by the researchers. Conclusions drawn from the results of this study are 1) children seemed to be generally satisfied with foods provided by school lunch program : 2) it is necessary for children to control amount of food and salt and/or hot peppers depending upon their own preference; and 3) appropriate temperature of each food should be maintained by using thermos pots, and the shape of dining board needs to be improved for younger children's convenience.

An Approach for a Substitution Matrix Based on Protein Blocks and Physicochemical Properties of Amino Acids through PCA

  • Amino acid substitution matrices are essential tools for protein sequence analysis, homology sequence search in protein databases and multiple sequence alignment. The PAM matrix was the first widely used amino acid substitution matrix. The BLOSUM series then succeeded the PAM matrix. Most substitution matrixes were developed by using the statistical frequency of substitution between each amino acid at blocks representing groups of protein families or related proteins. However, substitution of amino acids is based on the similarity of physiochemical properties of each amino acid. In this study, a new approach was used to obtain major physiochemical properties in multiple sequence alignment. Frequency of amino acid substitution in multiple sequence alignment database and selected attributes of amino acids in physiochemical properties database were merged. This merged data showed the major physiochemical properties through principle components analysis. Using factor analysis, these four principle components were interpreted as flexibility of electronic movement, polarity, negative charge and structural flexibility. Applying these four components, BAPS was constructed and validated for accuracy. When comparing receiver operated characteristic ($ROC_{50}$) values, BAPS scored slightly lower than BLOSUM and PAM. However, when evaluating for accuracy by comparing results from multiple sequence alignment with the structural alignment results of two test data sets with known three-dimensional structure in the homologous structure alignment database, the result of the test for BAPS was comparatively equivalent or better than results for prior matrices including PAM, Gonnet, Identity and Genetic code matrix.

생리활성 펩타이드의 피부미용학적 특성 및 활용 (Characteristics and Applications of Bioactive Peptides in Skin Care)

  • Bioactive peptides (BAP) showed excellent cosmetic activity than bio-materials such as caffeic acid (CA), gallic acid (GA), and nicotinic acid (NA). Caffeoyl tripeptide-1 (CT-1) is a BAP that is stabilized with Gly-His-Lys (GHK) tripeptide and CA by using Fmoc solid phase peptide synthesis. Digalloyl tetrapeptide-19 (DT-19) is stabilized by combining Lys-Glu-Cys-Gly with GA and nicotinoyl tripeptide-1 (NT-1) is synthesized by GHK and NA. According to experiments, CT-1 has an excellent anti-oxidant function even with a very small amount of 10 ppm CT-1. DT-19's tyrosinase inhibition activity has the better effect of about 28.57% in 0.01% and 33.33% in 0.005% of concentration and about 7.89% in 0.001% concentration than vitamin-C. In addition, NT-1 is safer than the NA. Almost BAPs like pal-KTTKS, acetyl hexapeptide, and copper tripeptide-1 have the anti-wrinkle effect while DT-19 and NT-1 are applicable for potential BAPs focused on the whitening effect. The three kinds of BAPs like CT-1, DT-19, and NT-1 consisting of amino acids are safe to the skin, and have more excellent stability than bio-materials which are found to be unstable and cause skin irritation. Due to the high biological activity of BAP in the field of skin care, its utilization will increase constantly.

소련촉진제가 천연고무 배합물의 유변학적 특성에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Masticating Peptizer on the Rheological Properties of Natural Rubber Compounds)

  • 천연고무의 소련효과를 높이기 위하여 사용되는 소련촉진제가 천연고무 배합물의 점도나 Couette 보정치와 같은 유변학적 특성에 미치는 효과를 살펴보았다. 소련촉진제로는 BAPS, PCTP 및 ADS계의 것이 사용되었다. 실험결과 소련 촉진제의 사용에 따라 고무의 분자량이 감소하고 전단 점도도 감소하였다. Coutte 보정치는 소련촉전제의 사용량이 증가 할수록 낮은 값을 나타냈으며 압출물의 팽창도 소련촉진제를 사용하는 경우감소하였다. 그 러나 사용된 소련촉진제들 간에는 큰 차이를 보이지 않았다.

  • 플라스틱 디스플레이 기판용으로 사용하기 위하여 무색, 투명하면서 유연성, roll-to-roll 공정, 내열성과 저 열팽창계수 특성을 갖출 수 있는 폴리이미드에 대한 연구를 하였다. 3,3',4,4'-oxydiphthalic anhydride(ODPA), 4,4'-(hexafluoroisopropylidene)diphthalic anhydride (6FDA), sulfonyldianiline(3-SDA), aminophenoxybenzene(TPE-p, TPE-q, TPE-r)과 bis[4-(3-aminophenoxy)phenyl]sulfone(m-BAPS) 등을 사용하여 무색 투명한 폴리이미드를 합성하고 광학적 특성을 UV spectrophotometer, colormeter와 hazemeter를 이용하여 측정하였다. 열팽창계수(CTE)를 낮추기 위하여 층상실리케이트로 나노복합화하였다. 무색투명한 폴리이미드 필름은 440 nm에서 $89\%$ 이상의 광투과도와 yellow index(YI) 값이 7 이하의 우수한 광학 특성을 보였다. 나노복합화한 폴리이미드 필름은 층상실리케이트가 효과적으로 박리되어 층상실리케이트의 함유량이 증가함에 따라 열팽창계수가 감소하는 효과를 보였다.

가교 반응이 가능한 말단 무수물을 이용한 무색투명한 폴리이미드 필름 (Colorless and Transparent Polyimide Films from Poly(amic acid)s with Cross-linkable Anhydride End)

  • 4,4'-(Hexafluoroisopropylidene)diphthalic anhydride(6FDA)와 bis[4-(3-amino phenoxy)phenyl] sulfone(BAPS)의 조성에 cis-4-cyclohexene-1,2-dicarboxylic anhydride(CDBA)를 다양한 몰%로 사용하여 사슬 말단에 가교 반응이 된 폴리이미드(PI)를 얻었다. Grubbs 촉매 0.1 wt%를 사용하여 가교된 폴리아믹산(poly(amic acid), PAA)을 합성한 후에 PAA를 다양한 온도에서 열처리를 통해 가교된 PI 필름을 합성하였다. 제조된 필름의 열적-기계적 성질은 퓨리에 변환 적외선 분광기(FTIR), 시차주사 열량계(DSC), 열중량 분석기(TGA), 열기계 분석기(TMA), 만능인장 시험기(UTM) 등을 사용하여 측정하였고, 색차계(spectrophotometer)와 자외선-가시광선 흡광도기(UV-Vis. spectrometer)를 이용하여 광학적 특성을 확인하였다. CDBA의 몰%가 증가함에 따라 열적 기계적 성질은 증가하였지만 광학적 투명도는 이와는 반대로 감소하였다.

가교 가능한 단량체를 이용한 무색투명 폴리이미드 필름 제조와 다양한 열처리에 따른 성질 (Fabrications and Properties of Colorless Polyimide Films Depending on Various Heat Treatment Conditions via Crosslinkable Monomer)

  • 폴리아믹산(PAA)은 가교가 가능한 2중 결합을 갖는 bicyclo(2,2,2)oct-7-ene-2,3,5,6-tetracarboxy-licdianhydride(BTDA)와 bis[4-(3-aminophenoxy)phenyl] sulfone(BAPS)을 N,N-dimethylacetamide(DMAc) 용매에서 반응하여 얻어졌으며, 폴리이미드(PI) 필름은 PAA를 캐스팅하여 각각 다른 반응 온도에서 열처리를 통해 얻었다. 가교 온도를 $250{\sim}350^{\circ}C$까지 증가하여 얻은 가교된 PI의 열적-기계적 성질, 가교도, 광학적 특성을 열처리 온도에 따라 조사하였다. 열적-기계적 성질은 $350^{\circ}C$에서 열처리되었을 때 최대 값을 나타냈으며, 광학적 특성은 $250^{\circ}C$에서 열처리된 필름이 가장 우수한 광학특성을 보였다. $250{\sim}350^{\circ}C$까지 열처리에 따른 가교도는 NMR 상에서 85~93%를 나타냈다.

다양한 아민 단량체로 합성한 무색투명 폴리이미드 필름 특성 (Characterization of Colorless and Transparent Polyimide Films Synthesized with Various Amine Monomers)

  • 무수산인 4,4'-(4,4'-isopropylidene-diphenoxy)bis(phthalic anhydride)(BPADA)와 아민계인 2,2'-bis(trifluoromethyl)benzidine(TFB), bis(3-aminophenyl)sulfone(APS), 4,4'-methylene-bis-(2-methylcyclohexylamine)(MMCA), bis[4-(3-aminophenoxy)phenyl]sulfone(BAPS)에 melamine을 각각 5 몰%로 반응시켜 N,N'-dimethylacetamide(DMAc) 용매 속에서 폴리아믹산(poly(amic acid), PAA)들을 얻었다. 용액 상태의 PAA를 캐스팅하여 각각 다른 반응 온도에서 열처리를 통해 무색 투명한 폴리이미드(PI) 필름을 얻었다. PI의 열적 성질, 광학적 특성을 다양한 아민 구조의 변화에 따라 조사하였으며, 열적 성질은 differential scanning calorimetry(DSC), thermogravimetric analysis(TGA), thermomechanical analysis(TMA)를 이용해 측정하였고, 광학적 투명도는 색차계(spectrophotometry)를 이용하였다. 제조된 모든 필름의 열 팽창계수는 $48.53-64.24ppm/^{\circ}C$ 사이의 값을 얻었으며, 모든 필름 시료의 노란색 지수(yellow index, YI)는 3 이하를 나타내었다.

Synthesis of Newel Positive Type Photosensitive Polyimide

  • Tricyclic aliphatic dianhydride monomer, tricycle[4.2.2.0]dec-9-ene exo, endo-3,4: 7,8-tetra-carboxylicdianhydride (TCDDA), was synthesized by photochemical reaction and poly(amic acid)s from TCDDA and diamines such as 1,4-bis-(4-aminophenoxy)benzene (BAB), 2,2-bis(4-(4-aminophenoxy) phenyl) propane (BAPP), 2,2-bis(4-(4-aminophenoxy)phenyl)hexafluoropropane (BAPHF), bis(4-(4-ami-nophenoxy) phenyl)sulfone (BAPS), and 1,4-bis-(4-aminophenoxy)biphenyl (BABP) were prepared. The inherent viscosities of the poly(amic acid)s were between 0.39 and 0.50 dL/g. The poly(amic acid)s were converted to polyimide films by thermal imidization. The glass transition temperatures (T$\_$g/) of the polyimides were in the range of 201-263$\^{C}$. The thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) thermogram of these polyimides showed the temperatures of 5% weight losses between 375 and 393$\^{C}$ in nitrogen atmosphere. To show their utility for image generation, degradations of these polyimides in UV exposure were investigated by UV spectroscopy.
