  • The author proposed an equation of fading rate, expressed as ${\Delta}E$=${\Delta}E_{1{\infty}}({{1-e^{-k}}_1}^t)+k_2t$, where ${\Delta}E$=fading of dye (colour difference of N.B.S. unit), ${\Delta}E_{1{\infty}}$=extremity value of fading of molecularly dispersed dye, $k_1$, $k_2$=constants, t=exposure (hours). The validity of above equation, which is connected with the state of dye in fibre, was confirmed by experimental in a range of 2-3 colour fading in grey scale value for assessing change in colour visually, except the case of increasing the fading rate with the time resulted from the break-down of dye particles through the heat effect of light; it was also discussed about possiblity of evaluating of fastness to light of dye in early stage.

  • Epitaxial thickness $t_e(T_s)$ of Si films grown at the substrate temperature $T_s$=80~30$0^{\circ}C$ by ultra-high vacuum ion-beam sputter deposition onto nominally-singular, [100]-miscut Si(001) was measured. $t_e(T_s)$ values of films grown on vicinal Si(001) substrates were decreases compared to those of films grown on nominally-singular Si(001). Evolution of surface roughness measured by atomic force microscopy of films grown at $300^{\circ}C$ showed that the increases step density in vicinal substrates increases the tendency toward unstable growth resulting in larger surface roughness, which in turn decreases te.

  • Comamonas sp. strain DJ-12 is a bacterial isolate capable of degrading of 4-chlorobiphenyl (4CB) as a carbon and energy source. The degradation pathway was characterized as being conducted by consecutive reactions of the meta-degradation of 4CB, hydrolytic dechlorination of 4-chlorobenzoate (4CBA), hydroxylation of 4-hydroxybenzoate, and meta-degradation of protocatechuate to product TCA metabolites. The 6.8 kb fragment from the chromosomal DNA of Comamonas sp. strain DJ-12 included the genes encoding for the meta-degradation of PCA; the genes of protocatechuate 4,5-dioxygenase alpha and beta subunits (pmcA and pmcB), 4-carboxy-2-hydroxymuconate-6-semialdehyde dehydrogenase (pmcC), 2-pyrone-4,6-dicarboxylate hydrolase (pmcD), 4-oxalomesaconate (OMA) hydratase(pmcE), 4-oxalocitramalate (OCM) aldolase (pmcF), and transporter gene (pmcT). They were organized in the order of pmcT-pmcE-pmcF-pmcD-pmcA-pmcB-pmcC. The amino acid sequences deduced from the nucleotide sequences of pmcABCDEFT genes from Comamonas sp. strain DJ-12 exhibited 94 to $98\%$ homologies with those of Comamonas testosteroni BR6020 and Pseudomonas ochraceae NGJ1, but only 52 to $74\%$ with homologies Sphingomonas paucimobilis SYK-6, Sphingomonas sp. LB126, and Arthrobacter keyseri 12B.

  • In this paper, we define intuitionistic fuzzy subalgebras of B-algebras which is related to several classes of algebras such as BCI/BCK-algebras. We could obtain some important results for the homomorphic image and equivalence relations on IFS(X).

  • A high-isolation Ka-band WR-28 waveguide power combiner is designed and implemented using a resistive septum. The waveguide power combiner developed here is an E-plane T-junction type with a TaN resistive septum inserted in a slit of waveguide junction. The fabricated waveguide power combiner shows a return loss better than -20 dB and an insertion loss less than 0.1 dB. Also the measurement shows isolation levels of 20 dB or more almost all over the band and in particular 25 dB or more below 37 GHz. The amplitude and phase imbalance are measured to be less than 0.1 dB and $2.5^{\circ}$, respectively.

  • Inclusion selectivity of a three-dimensional piperazine-ligated cyanocadmate host complex, $[Cd_x(CN)_{2x}\{HN(CH_2CH_2)_2NH\}_y]{\cdot}zG$, has been investigated for benzene (B), toluene (T), ethylbenzene (E), o- (O), m- (M), and p-xylene (P) isomers as the aromatic guest molecules. From the binary, ternary and quarternary guest mixtures of E and xylene isomer (X), the order of inclusion selectivity in the host complex is O>E>P>M. From the binary to quinary BTX mixtures, the order of preference in the complex is seen to be B>T>O${\gg}$P>M.

  • Let q be a power of 16. Every polynomial $P\in\mathbb{F}_q$[t] is a strict sum $P=A^2+A+B^3+C^3+D^3+E^3$. The values of A,B,C,D,E are effectively obtained from the coefficients of P. The proof uses the new result that every polynomial $Q\in\mathbb{F}_q$[t], satisfying the necessary condition that the constant term Q(0) has zero trace, has a strict and effective representation as: $Q=F^2+F+tG^2$. This improves for such q's and such Q's a result of Gallardo, Rahavandrainy, and Vaserstein that requires three polynomials F,G,H for the strict representation $Q=F^2$+F+GH. Observe that the latter representation may be considered as an analogue in characteristic 2 of the strict representation of a polynomial Q by three squares in odd characteristic.

  • The evidences that Lam B protein of E. coli is used as a receptor for infections of bacteriophage N4 as well as bacteriophage lambda were obtained from the following experimental results. First, all of the isolated lambda resistant dlones possessing foreign DNA fragments in the plasmids were also resistant to bacteriophage N4, but not to bacteriophage $\phi$ 80, T4 and T7. Second, when the plasmid DNA was treated with various restriction enzymes and ligated to delete the total or a portion of the foreign DNA fragments, the deleted plasmids lost the resistant activities to lambda and N4, simultaneously. Third, after amplification of Lam B protein about 200 times by inducing the protein using maltose as a sole carbon source, the host E. coli became sensitive to both lambda and N4.

  • Biomass conversion efficiencies (B.C.E) of six fish species viz, Catla catla, Labeo, rohita, Cirrhina mrigala, Hypophthalmicthys molitrix, Ctenopharyngodon idella and Cyprinus carpio cultured under artificial feed (T1), broiler manure (T2), buffalo manure (T3), N:P:K (25:25:0) (T4) and control pond (T5) have been determined for the period of one year. The overall biomass conversion efficiencies under the influence of T2, T3, and T4 were statistically similar. However, the best (0.40) efficiency was determined under feed supplement-ation (T1).
