Statement of problem: Recently researches about WC/C (Tungsten Carbide/Carbon) or TiN (Titanium Nitride) coating on abutment screws are going on. It decreases friction coefficient, resistance against corrosion and withdrawal of physical fragility when the coating is applied to the metal surfaces. It is reported that coated abutment screws improved abrasion, adaptability and detorque force. Purpose: This study is about the effects of coated abutment screws on loosening of screw and for the purpose of solving the loosening phenomenon of abutment screws which is clinical problem. Material and methods: Detorque force and surface changes are compared when 10 times of repeated closing and opening are applied to both uncoated titanium abutment screws (Group A) and coated abutment screws with WC/C (Group B) and TiN (Group C). Each group was made up of 10 abutment screws. Results: 1. Before repeated closing and opening, Somewhat rough surface with regular direction was observed in Group A. Coated granules were observed in group B and group C and overall coated layer appeared in regular and smooth form. 2. Before repeated closing and opening, The coated surface showed bigger and thicker size of coated granules in Group C than Group B. 3. After repeated closing and opening, abrasion and deformation of abutment screw surface was observed in Group A and Group B. Exfoliation phenomenon was observed in Group B. 4. Group A showed biggest range of decrease when the weight changes of abutment screws were measured before and after repeated closing and opening. Group C showed less weight changes than Group B but there was no statistical difference between two groups. 5. Group B and Group C showed higher average detorque force than Group A and there was statistical difference. 6. Group A showed more prominent decrease tendency of average detorque force than Group B and Group C. Conclusion: Coated abutment screws with WC/C or TiN did not show prominent surface changes than uncoated titanium abutment screws even though they were repeatedly used. And they showed excellent resistance against friction and high detorque force. Thus it is considered that adaptation of WC/C or TiN coating on abutment screws will improve the screw loosening problem.
We have synthesized several bicyclic heteroaromatic compounds with bridgehead nitrogen from N-amine salts of heteroaromatic amines. 2-Amino and 2-unsubstituted thiazolo[3,2-b][l,2,4]triazole derivatives 2a-b were prepared by the cyclization reaction from N-amine salts of aminothiazole-5-yl(N-methoxyimino)acetate with cyanogen bromide and formamidine acetic acid salt, respectively. 2-Methylthiazolo[3,2-b][1,2,4]triazole 2c was obtained from N-acetylated N-amine salt of aminothiazole-5-yl(N-methoxyimino)acetate by the cyclization reaction in the presence of polyphosphoric acid (PPA). 2-Substituted and 2-unsubstituted thiazole[3,2-b][1,2,4]triazole derivatives 2a-c were coupled with 7-aminocephalosporanic acid (7-ACA). Coupled cephalosporin derivatives 1a-c did not have good antibacterial activities in vitro.
Chitosan derivative, of a sulfated N-acetyl chitosan was synthesized, and the inhibitory effects of this compound on the experimental and spontaneous lung metastallc B16/BL6 melanoma bearing mice were investigated. Position of substitution with sulfate in water-soluble sulfated derivatives of chitosan were analysed by 13C-nmr. The structure of N-acetyl chitosan 3,6 0-disulfate were confirmed. The tumor growth inhibition of B16/BL6 melanoma cells has been shown at the highest level of 77.6% when sulfated N-acetyl chitosan were administered at the dose of 100mg/kg. In the lung metastasls, the sulfated N-atetyl chitosan was administered to C57BL/6B mice bearing B16/BL6 melanoma cells by I.V. injection and the number of metastasis foci of melanoma were decreased by the dose dependent manner ranging from 20 to 100mg/kg. In the spontaneous metastasis, I.V. administrations of sulfated N-acetyl chitosan after tumor inoculation resulted in marked reduction of metastatic colonies. A sulfated N-acetyl chitosan was able to partially inhibit the tumor cell adhesion by migration to laminin. These results suggested that chitosan derivative, a sulfated N-acetyl chitoasn was able to inhibit to the experimental and spontaneous metastasis models as well as cell adhesion ability.
We investigated the total phenolic and flavonoid contents and the antimicrobial activity of ethanol extracts obtained from Saussurea lappa C.B. Clarke. The ethanol extracts of S. lappa C.B. Clarke were fractionated with various solvents (n-hexane, chloroform, and n-butanol). The antimicrobial activity of S. lappa C.B. Clarke was examined by disc-diffusion and micro-dilution susceptibility assays with six food-borne pathogens, and compared to that of the synthetic antibiotics. It is found that the S. lappa C.B. Clarke ethanol extract and n-hexane fraction have strong activity against B. cereus and V. parahaemolyticus strains compared to ampicillin. The inhibitory concentration ($IC_{50}$) values of hexane fraction against L. monocytogenes, B. cereus, and B. subtilis were 62.5, 250 and 500 ppm, respectively. Therefore, these data suggest that S. lappa C.B. Clarke may be useful as antimicrobial agents against food-borne pathogens.
Let Mf(x) be the Hardy-Littlewood maximal function on $\mathbb{R}^n$. Let $\Phi$ and $\Psi$ be functions satisfying $\Phi$(t) = ${\int^t}_0$a(s)ds and $\Psi(t)$ = ${\int^t}_0$b(s)ds, where a(s) and b(s) are positive continuous such that ${\int^\infty}_0\frac{a(s)}{s}ds$ = $\infty$ and b(s) is quasi-increasing. We show that if there exists a constant $c_1$ so that ${\int^s}_0\frac{a(t)}{t}dt\;c_1b(c_1s)$ for all $s\geq0$, then there exists a constant $c_1$ such that(0.1) $\int_{\mathbb{R^{n}}$$\Phi(Mf(x))dx\;\leq\;c_2$$\int_\mathbb{R^{n}}$$\Psi(c_2\midf(x)\mid)dx$ for all $f\epsilonL^1(R^n_$. Conversely, if there exists a constant $c_2$ satisfying the condition (0.1), then there exists a constant $c_1$ so that ${\int^s}_\delta\frac{a(t)}{t}dt=;\leq\;c_1b(c_1s$ for all $\delta$ > 0 and $s\geq\delta$.
In authors' paper in 2007, it was shown that the BSE-extension of $C^1_0(R)$, the algebra of continuously differentiable functions f on the real number space R such that f and df /dx vanish at infinity, is the Lipschitz algebra $Lip_1(R)$. This paper extends this result to the case of $C^n_0(R^d)$ and $C^{n-1,1}_b(R^d)$, where n and d represent arbitrary natural numbers. Here $C^n_0(R^d)$ is the space of all n-times continuously differentiable functions f on $R^d$ whose k-times derivatives are vanishing at infinity for k = 0, ${\cdots}$, n, and $C^{n-1,1}_b(R^d)$ is the space of all (n - 1)-times continuously differentiable functions on $R^d$ whose k-times derivatives are bounded for k = 0, ${\cdots}$, n - 1, and (n - 1)-times derivatives are Lipschitz. As a byproduct of our investigation we obtain an important result that $C^{n-1,1}_b(R^d)$ has a predual.
A quadratic polynomial ${\Phi}_{a,b,c}(x,y,z)=x(ax+1)+y(by+1)+z(cz+1)$ is called universal if the diophantine equation ${\Phi}_{a,b,c}(x,y,z)=n$ has an integer solution x, y, z for any nonnegative integer n. In this article, we show that if (a, b, c) = (2, 2, 6), (2, 3, 5) or (2, 3, 7), then ${\Phi}_{a,b,c}(x,y,z)$ is universal. These were conjectured by Sun in [8].

The Ethylene polymerization behavior of a series of polymethylene bridged dinuclear CGC $[Zr({\eta}^{5}:{\eta}^{1}-C_{9}H_{5}SiMe_{2}NCMe_{3})Me_{2}]_{2}[(CH_{2})_{n}]\;[_{n}=6(1),\;9(2),\;12(3)]$ in the cocatalytic activation with $Ph_{3}C^{+}B^{-}(C_{6}F_{5})_{4}\;(B_{1})\;or\;Ph_{3}C^{+}(C_{6}F_{5})_{3}B^{-}C_{6}F_{4}B^{-}(C_{6}F_{5})_{3}Ph_{3}C^{+}\;(B_{2})\;or\;B(C_{6}F_{5})_{3}\;(B_{3})$ were investigated to study the nuclearity effects as well as the counteranion effects. The ethylene polymerization and ethylene/1-hexene copolymerization were conducted at $30^{\circ}C$ It was found that both in ethylene polymerization and ethylene/1-hexene copolymerization, activities increased in the order of 1 < 2 < 3, which indicates the presence of longer bridge between two active sites contributes more efficiently to facilitate the polymerization activity.
Let R be a noncommutative prime ring of characteristic different from 2, Q be its maximal right ring of quotients and C be its extended centroid. Suppose that $f(x_1,{\ldots},x_n)$ be a noncentral multilinear polynomial over $C,b{\in}Q,F$ a b-generalized derivation of R and d is a nonzero derivation of R such that d([F(f(r)), f(r)]) = 0 for all $r=(r_1,{\ldots},r_n){\in}R^n$. Then one of the following holds: (1) there exists ${\lambda}{\in}C$ such that $F(x)={\lambda}x$ for all $x{\in}R$; (2) there exist ${\lambda}{\in}C$ and $p{\in}Q$ such that $F(x)={\lambda}x+px+xp$ for all $x{\in}R$ with $f(x_1,{\ldots},x_n)^2$ is central valued in R.

Critical current - magnetic field ($I_c$-B) relation is one of the basic properties of an HTS wire, which is needed for the design of performances of superconducting devices. Experimental results of the $I_c$-B relation of Bi-2223 and YBCO superconducting wire are presented in this paper. n-value is also an important parameter which is needed to calculate the electric field by using the power-law. Measurement results of the n-value of the same HTS superconducting wires are also presented.
