  • In this study, the improvement work to reduce the steering wheel vibration of a forklift truck is performed. The forklift truck newly developed possesses a trans-axle type power train to achieve a compact and low-price design. The forklift truck is directly subjected to a high-level engine vibration through hard mounted trans-axle housing. The engine vibration shakes the whole system of the forklift truck, and then a high level local vibration of steering wheel could not be avoided. As the results, the vibration source and path mechanisms are experimentally identified and then an improvement design is proposed to minimize the steering wheel vibration.

  • In this paper, noise sources of a planocentric gear reducer are identified by experimental mehod. This study consider a reduction method of a noise/vibration about the gear, axle, bearing and others. Namely, the purpose of this study is to reduce a noise/vibration for a stability of the total system. Form the data to be measured through an experimental method, the problems of the gear, axle, bearing and others are examined closely, and the reducer is derived the model to be the engineering. The mechanism of the problem occurrence is examined through a parametric research about an each influence factor(Load). Lastly, the results of this study propose the model to be improved.

  • An acoustic finite element model of a bridge is developed to evaluate the noise generated by the traffic-induced vibration of the bridge. The dynamic response of a multi-girder bridge, modeled by a 3-dimensional frame element model, is analyzed with a 3-axle 8 DOFs truck model and a 5-axle 13 DOFs semi-trailer. The flat plate element is used to analyze the acoustic pressure due to the fluid-structure interactions between the vibrating surface and contiguous acoustic fluid medium. The radiation fields of noise with a specified distribution of vibrating velocity and pressure on the structural surface are also computed using the Kirchhoff-Helmholtz integral. Although the noise produced by the bridge vibration is not serious in itself, which is below the audible frequency range, it should be considered as an interaction problem between vehicle noise and bridge vibration noise in order to evaluate the traffic noise around the bridge.

차량 추진축과 엑슬 진동의 상관성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Correlation of Vehicle Propeller Shaft and Axle Vibration)

  • Propeller shaft is one of the main excitation source in the vehicle driveline. This paper presents the correlation of the propeller shaft and axle vibration. 10 D.O.F. lumped mass model is constructed to simulate the dirveline. Experimental apparatus is constructed to verify the simulation model and to measure the vibration signal of lthe driveline. The results of simulation and experiments show that propeller shaft excitation is 2nd harmonic of the rotational frequency. Axle housing vibration signal shows that axle resonate with 2nd harmonic of excitation frequency due to universal joint effect.

  • This paper presented comparison of vibration characteristics of a 5-ton truck at the two kinds of rear axle suspension, a conventional leaf spring suspension and an air spring suspension. Vibration at the selected location in the freight compartment and the rear axle were measured while the vehicle was running on various kinds of road at the specified speed. At all kinds of the driving conditions used in the test the air spring suspension showed good performance of vibration attenuation, especailly at the frequency range of under 5 Hz.

  • Hypoid gears are widely used in rear drive and 4WD vehicle axles. Investigation of their sensitivity to deflections is one of the most important aspects of their design and optimization procedures. The deflection test is performed in the actual gear mounting using completely processed gear. This test should cover the fun operating range of gear loads from no load to peak load. Under peak load the contact pattern should extend to the tooth boundaries without showing a concentration of the contact pattern at any point on the tooth surface. Transmission error is tested on an axle assembly triaxial real car load condition.

The radiation fields of noise with a specified distribution of vibrating velocity and pressure on the structural surface are also computed using the Kirchhoff-Helmholtz integral. In an attempt to illustrate the influence of the structural vibration noise of a bridge to total noise level around the bridge, the random function is used to generate the vehicle noise source including the engine noise and the rolling noise interacting between the road and tire. Among the diverse parameters affecting the dynamic response of bridge, the vehicle velocity, the vehicle weight, the spatial distribution of the road surface roughness, the stiffness degradation of the bridge and the variation of the air temperature changing the air density are found to be the main factors that increase the level of vibration noise. Consequently, The amplification rate of noise increases with the traveling speed and the vehicle weight.
