  • This paper proposes a design method for improving the disassembly by using the axiomatic approach. A product developer must design disassembly as well as assembly when designing the structure of a product. Axiomatic approach is a design tool that optimizes design. In this paper design evaluation method using information axiom sets impact variables and value function. As a result, examining the relationship between the functional requirements and evaluating the information can optimize designs.

  • Microcellular foamed plastic is a foaming technology that is safer to the environment and has no significant deterioration of mechanical properties compared to the conventional foamed plastic. Currently, the development of the injection-molding machine for microcellular plastic (MCP) is nearing completion. Currently, researches on the mass production system for the MCP injection-molding machine are under progress. The purpose of this paper is to design the gas supply system suitable for microcellular foaming in the injection-molding machine. For the design process, Axiomatic Approach, a powerful tool for design, will be used.

  • In axiomatic approach for design evaluation, even if a mutual relation don't appear physical mapping of high level, it can appear in process mapping of low level through coupled PVs(Process Variables), but we must solve it for correct design evaluation. This paper handle a method for solving of coupled PVs by using axiomatic approach and CBR(Case-Based Reasoning). The methodology of proposal took still more shape through the instance of MCPs(Microcellular Plastics).

  • Micro-stereolithography technology has made it possible to fabricate any form of three-dimensional microstructures. It makes a 3D structure by dividing the shape into many slices of relevant thickness along horizontal surface, hardening each layer of slice with a laser, and stacking them up to a desired shape. Until now, however, the micro-stereolithography device was not designed systematically because the key factors governing the device were not considered. In this paper, we designed micro-stereolithography device using axiomatic approach. This paper contains an overview and an analysis of a new proposed system for development of micro-stereolithegraphy device, and detailed descriptions of the activities in this system. The newly designed system offers reduced machine size by minimizing of optical components and decoupled design matrix.

  • Two No Spin Differential(NSD) models were benchmarked for a project of Dual-Use Technology. The Axiomatic approach is utilized to evaluate the designs of the models. The Independence Axiom is satisfied at the top level of design but not at the second level, which implies the design exhibits coupling and will admit design improvements. The detailed process of design evaluation is described. It is shown that it is possible to develop a unique and evolutionary NSD design by solving the problems that cause coupling within two models.

  • Paraglider has been used for a good air sports instrument by many people in the world though its short history. And manufacturers have improved it continuously. It has the great growth from the first model like parachute to the latest model that has the extreme speed, but we can improve it in more parts. In this paper, we will show the method which can improve its performance by using Axiomatic Approach.

  • This paper proposes an Molding error compensation method that improves accuracy with geometry information of injected parts using three-dimensional measuring instrument. a traditional mold design has been conducted by an experience-based trial and error, whereby generally the mold designer would decide the gate location and processing conditions. as a natural consequence, almost all creats inferior goods. It's just a process of trial and error and caught in a vicious circle. Due to this reason, this paper uses a three-dimensional measuring instrument, a commercial analysis package of injection molding(Moldflow, MPI) to analysis a state of flux. In addition to that axiomatic approach.

  • DVD(Digital Versatile Disk) is the data storage media devised to make high storage density and high speed data input/output possible. For example, a whole length movie can be stored in a disk as large as a CD(Compact Disk). Therefore higher rotational speed and better accuracy in optical pick-up are required compared with the existing optical storage device. Without these operational functional requirements being satisfied DVD will lose its place as the high capacity storage device. This paper evaluated whether the currently developed DVD satisfies the requirements and provides improved methods with the Axiomatic Approach which is superb in evaluating and designing newly concepted designs.
