Data were collected using a structured questionnaire from 191 perioperative nurses. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, paired t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients, and multiple regression. The perceived patient safety score was 6.3 as moderate level. Types of errors were mostly happened in patient injury (39.8%), counts (18.4%) and infection control (17.5%). The level of compliance on patient safety was significantly lower than that of importance awareness (t=18.01, P<.001). Compliance on patient safety showed significantly positive correlations to importance awareness (r=.56, p<.001). Experience of patient safety education, experience of errors in colleague, job position and working experience in hospital explained 13.9% of variance compliance on patient safety(F=8.407, P<.001). • The worldwide coronavirus pandemic has brought to light the importance of having a reliable supply of masks for each person. This study aims to understand the effect of personal awareness (including community, others', and safety awareness) on consumption conformity and the repurchase intention of masks. The research method used the SPSS 22.0 and AMOS 22.0 statistical systems to analyze descriptive statistics in terms of reliability, validity, structural equation modeling, and moderated regression analysis. A total of 272 Chinese participants were recruited via an online survey website (www.sojump.com) from May 1 to May 14, 2020. Findings indicated that mask users' awareness can be categorized into three distinct types: community, others', and safety awareness. The more community and safety awareness is perceived, the higher the level of consumption conformity. In contrast, others' has no statistical effect on consumption conformity or repurchase intention. The positive influence of consumption conformity on the repurchase intention of masks is also weaker than price perception. However, another moderating variable, mask quality, has no moderating effect. The results of this study can help mask manufacturers and distributors retain their customers, resulting in reasonable protective measures while maintaining market order. Theoretical and managerial implications for mask suppliers are also provided.

  • In the uncertainty fueled by the COVID-19 pandemic, mergers and acquisitions (M&As) have emerged as key strategic responses by firms. This study explores the impact of M&As on acquirers' firm value, utilizing a firm-level panel dataset from SDC Platinum. Empirical evidence recognizes the potential negative impact of transaction value in M&As and the pandemic's effect on market uncertainty that may occasionally exacerbate the adverse influence on acquirers' firm value. The findings indicate that effective marketing strategies, such as enhancing consumer awareness through increasing advertising expenditures, can counterbalance these influences, particularly during uncertain times. This study accentuates the importance of adaptability and a responsive marketing approach in managing M&As during a global crisis. It provides valuable perspectives on consumer awareness in strategic decision-making, offering insights for both academic and business communities and focusing on actionable strategies for navigating the global market turmoil transformed by COVID-19.

  • This study was intended to investigate differences in the recognition of the importance and performance of clinical nutrition management by using IPA. For the study, 100 clinical nutritionists working at medical institutions were analyzed. In all 17 categories of nutritional management, significant differences were observed in awareness of performance and importance. The categories with the greatest difference in importance and performance awareness were the nutritionist's participation in clinical nutrition education and related job development activities(1.38), and the lowest categories were the provision of therapeutic meals(0.69). Since IPA analysis results showed that participation in clinical nutrition education and related task development were both low in importance and performance, it should be improved first. A way to improve is for nutritionists to receive internal and external education. Above all things, for effective treatment, policies to include clinical nutritionist in the category of medical personnel, and cooperation between the medical sector and nutrition service management are necessary.
