The vast majority of the disaster prevention design research in Korea has focused on the macro-level interventions such as examining the existing systems and approaches, instituting revised policies, systematically establishing intervention programs, and evaluating the effectiveness of the interventions. However, little has focused on systematically challenging individuals' awareness using micro-level intervention. The present paper introduces approaches to micro-level intervention by infusing narrative-based simulation, and further suggests the implications on balancing the approaches of both micro-level and macro-level interventions.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify awareness, attitude and perceived competence about cardiopulmonary resuscitation in elementary school students. Methods: Data were collected from a convenience sample of 616 5th and 6th grade elementary school students in Korea during September and December 2008. A self-questionnaire was used to gather the data. Descriptive statistics, t-test, $x^2$ test, Pearson correlation coefficients and multiple stepwise regression with the SPSS program were used to analyze the data. Results: Among the items related to elementary school students' awareness of cardiopulmonary resuscitation, artificial respiration was perceived at the highest rate (91.9%) and was followed by cardiopulmonary resuscitation, chest compression and airway management. The mean score for attitude 3.51, perceived competence 3.47. There was a positive correlation between awareness, attitude and perceived competence. Attitude and awareness were significant predictors and explained 57.5% of perceived competence about cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Conclusion: The results indicate the necessity of developing effective cardiopulmonary resuscitation education programs for elementary school students.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the relationships between the level of awareness of dental hygiene and practice of dental hygiene in pregnant women. Methods: This study was conducted through a survey on 170 pregnant women who visited obstetric clinics in five the general hospitals in B city and K city. The data were collected by self-reporting questionnaires and analysed by the SPSS WIN 17.0 program using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression. Results: The mean score of awareness of dental hygiene was 97.4. The mean score of practice of dental hygiene was 122.8. Education levels have a significant effect on practice of dantal hygiene. A significant positive correlation between awareness of dental hygiene and practice of dental hygiene was found. Conclusion: It is suggestive that effective educational programs are in need to increase the level of practice of dental hygiene and level of awareness of dental hygiene.
Objective: To study the level of awareness and knowledge about cancers and associated risk factors among households in selected states of India. Methods: In the study 3070 households were interviewed from six states viz, West Bengal, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Mizoram. Results: Knowledge of cancers other than those related to tobacco was very low (prostate 8%, colon 11% ) among the communities, with a poor awareness of warning signs and symptoms. The knowledge varied from state to state. It is found that the major source of information related to cancers was television (38%) followed by friends and relatives (36%). Only about 15 % of respondents had knowledge about cancer awareness camps organized in their districts but they did not have knowledge about the organizers of the camp. Findings suggested a strong need for strengthening of DCCP. Conclusion: It is important to create awareness among community through educational programs on cancer prevention, preventable cancer risk factors, benefits of early diagnosis, and availability of screening facilities. Integration of District Cancer Control activities with NRHM could be the most cost-effective strategy to prevent cancers and rural population.
Purpose: Increased awareness of the environment is essential, since the general health of people and the global economy is largely dependent on the health of the environment. The purpose of this study is to increase customer awareness and also to ensure that businesses enlighten their customers on how to act in an environmentally friendly manner, which can be done, for instance, through associations. Research design, data and methodology: Scant research is available regarding what elements of marketing strategy should be applied in an environmental plan to increase customer awareness. For this reason, this study suggests a specific marketing policy that conveys several strategies for practitioners who focus on successful environmental plans for their organizations. Results: The prior literature suggests that public education, mass media, campaign publications, and electronic networking, which are becoming more common today, can be used as platforms for conveying environmental messages that will increase environmental awareness among customers. Conclusions: Organizations can use health and safety training to ensure that customers are aware of the environment. Training programs by companies that point more to the environment can make customers aware of the environment and help them adopt activities that show respect to the environment.

Methods: A descriptive survey design was used for this study. The participants were 324 nursing students from S University located in J city. The data were collected through a questionnaire survey done from September 30 to October 18, 2014. Data were analyzed using a t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe's test, Pearson correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression. Results: The factors influencing nursing students' biomedical ethics awareness were identified as moral sensitivity(${\beta}=.34$), ethical values(${\beta}=.11$), awareness of Korean nurses' declaration of ethics(${\beta}=.15$), religion(${\beta}=.14$), and religious activity(${\beta}=.12$). Five factors explained 10.8% of nursing students' biomedical ethics awareness. Data analysis was conducted on 170 surveys, after excluding 27 surveys that were found to be unsuitable for data analysis. Results: When correlating the study variables, knowledge and awareness were found to have a positive, meaningful correlation with performance. Performance of COVID-19 personal infection control regression analysis showed that the working department (clinic and long-term care hospital), clinical experience, the more knowledgeable, the awareness (personal), and the more clinical experience had significant positive impacts on the performance of COVID-19 infection control. Performance of COVID-19 treatment room infection control regression analysis showed that the working department (long-term care hospital), educational experience, the awareness (treatment room) had significant positive impacts on the performance of COVID-19 infection control Conclusion: The results of this study may be used as basic data for educating physical therapist's working at the COVID-19 response department. This study suggests that physical therapist's need educational programs to improve their knowledge and awareness and performance of infection control against infectious diseases such as COVID-19. Differentiated physical therapists practice education curricula must be developed and provided after understanding the varying characteristic of physical therapist's with different levels of work experience.
