Analysis of Wireless Network Technology for High Reliability Aircraft Networks (고 신뢰성 항공기 무선 네트워크 동향 및 기술 분석)

  • This paper compares the performance of wireless communication technologies to replace the wired networks by wireless networks on avionics intra-communication. Due to the drawbacks of wired network, such as complexity, weight, maintenance cost and scalability, it leads to the high data rate and network traffic demands of avionics systems. Therefore, in WAIC(Wireless Avionics Intra-Communications) system suggested by ITU(International Telecommunication Union), based on environment of avionics system and requirements of a wired network, wireless network structures are defined to solve the problems of wired networks. In this paper, we consider features, advantages and disadvantages of wireless communication technologies which can be used for wireless avionics network, and we propose suitable wireless communication technology candidates for wireless avionics networks in WAIC environments.

  • In this paper, we describe the case of automatic test equipment development for hardware verification of stores management computer mounted on aircraft. Recently, the required functions of aircraft have been diversified and the related technologies of avionics equipment have developed, and the types and quantity of interfaces required for avionics equipment have increased. In addition to the existing old stores, the stores management computer also needs to control the interface in large quantities as the requirements for the new stores are added. For this reason, the time and manpower required for the inspection of avionic equipment are also increasing, and if the test process of avionic equipment can be automated and unmanned, more efficient inspection system operation will be possible. Therefore, this paper introduces the case of designing test software and test scenario to automate the structural design contents and verification process of test equipment required for the verification of hardware function of stores management computer.

  • Avionics OFP runs on the mission computer and can be operated by interacting with several avionics equipments. In order to verify OFP SW, SIL having real avionics equipments or models is absolutely necessary. Therefore in many cases SIL is implemented concurrently with OFP developing, and only one SIL is provided to developers. So developers sometimes need an alternative to SIL for verifying requirements in the middle of development process. In this paper, we propose a single PC based STE SW that simulates interworking equipments and verifies OFP in a single PC environment without actual interworking equipments or SIL HW interfaces.

  • Avionics Full-DupleX Ethernet (AFDX) is a next-generation avionics network interface technology that is widely applied in the latest aircraft to replace ARINC429 and MIL-STD-1553B. However, the criteria for authenticating an avionics network consisting of AFDX are very scarce. Using AFDX Protocol Analyzer developed by the Korea Electronics Technology Research Institute and AFDX Tap developed by the Korea Aerospace University, we proposed a technology of certification practicality that can verify the normal functioning of avionics equipment with AFDX network interface. Our proposed technology provided the ability to collect precision packets, to verify AFDX specification compliance, and perform automatic tests to reduce the time and cost of authentication of AFDX avionics devices.

  • 현재 4차 산업이 진행됨으로써 대부분의 사물들이 자율화 기능이 더해지는 시대가 오고 있다. 자율화 기술이 발전됨으로써 모든 사람들은 삶을 살아가면서 스스로 문제를 해결해 나갈수 있으며 기존의 생활속도보다 빨라지는 것을 느낄수 있을 것이다. 그래서 마트에서도 쇼핑을하면서 소비자들이 어떻게 쇼핑을 할 때 현재의 수준보다 쇼핑의 질이 높아 질지 고안해보았다. 본 과제물은 소비자들이 쇼핑을할 때 보다 편리하게 일을 처리할수도록 스마트 기능을 카트와 카운터에 추가하였다. 카트에 디스플레이와 바코드 스캐너를 부착함으로써 검색을 통해 소비자들이 원하는 물품의 가격, 위치등의 정보를 알아 낼 수 있고 현재 카트에 담긴 물품의 총 가격을 알 수 있다. 또한, 쇼핑을 마치고 계산을할 때 계산 대기줄이 길어지는 불편함을 해소하기위해 자동계산 기능이 있다. 쇼핑을 마친 소비자가 카트를 카운터로 끌고가면 카트에 저장되어 있는 쇼핑정보가 카운터의 디스플레이에 표시되고 카트와 카운터의 정보가 일치한다면 소비자가 카트에 요금을 충전해 스스로 계산을 수행할수 있다. 이런 자동화, 스마트 기능들은 소비자들의 편리함과 시간을 단축시킬수 있을 것이다.

  • We proposed the method of avionics integrated architecture using high-speed fiber optic bus. Typically, data bus of aircraft consists of electronic and optic data transmission method. Avionics systems are difficult to operate the electronic data transmission method for the high speed data processing, synchronization and interconnection between flight control system and flight management system efficiently. In this paper, it is known to look into the problem of data bus and the advanced trend in avionics systems, and propose the appropriate data bus of the advanced avionics systems.

  • Safety and Reliability assessments of Avionics Parts must be conducted essentially in the step of disign and manufacture as it constitutes a major field of aircraft critical operation. Recently Avionics parts fabrication techniques are continuously developing by applying digital techniques. Airborne computer is being adopted on an aircraft for flight is being adopted on an aircraft for flight safety augmentation and simplification of controls including reduction of human error. Therefore inspection and evaluation procedures should be developed in order to accomodate such trends. The number of avionics parts is approximitely 72% of total TSO parts, so it is expected high added-values through manufactures of TSO parts in aircraft industries. Particuarly avionics parts must be manufacturered with our own technology to be used in Mid-class aircraft which will be developed soon. Along with this, preparation of Certification Procedures is essential for Avionics Parts.

  • It is require to design the next generation avionics system while considering applicability under open architecture where standerd communication module is used. In this situation, if the existing schemes cannot guarantee new requirement, new system development is demanded. In this paper, we present design, implementation, and testing procedure for message based middleware to support operational flight program on avionics. System architecture include mission computer (MC) and large area display (LAD) over standard socket communication based on reliable Ethernet. Finally, experimental results demonstrate that the proposed middleware can guarantee real-time with 20msec as well as reliability requirements with no lost packet.

  • IOT 산업이 발전하면서, 인간 생활의 3대 요소 중 주거환경 개선을 위한 많은 종류의 스마트 가전제품이 출시되었지만, 기상현상과 대기오염 등에 의한 피해를 예방하기 위한 제품은 아직 미비하다. 여러 피해 사례들을 조사해본 결과, 중국발 황사로 인한 초미세먼지, 공장의 화학 기체, 자동차 매연 등에 의해 대기가 오염되면서 사람들은 호흡기 질환에 쉽게 걸리거나, 집 내부에 미세먼지가 뿌옇게 쌓이기도 한다. 또한, 창문을 열어놓은 채 장시간 외출 시, 미세먼지나 폭우 등으로 인해 실내가 엉망이 되기도 한다. 그 외에도 거동이 불편한 노약자나 장애인만이 집에 있는 경우, 창문을 직접 개폐하는 것에 어려움이 있기에 보호자가 돌아올 때까지 견뎌야만 한다. 이러한 주거환경의 피해를 예방하기 위한 연구 과정에서 실내외의 교차점을 창문으로 설정하였고, 자동화와 편의성을 추가하고자 하였다. 창문 개폐의 자동화 구현을 위해 아두이노 개발환경에 5가지 센서를 적용하였고, 편의성을 높이기 위해 라즈베리 파이 개발환경에 OK구글 오픈소스를 활용하여 음성인식 기능을 적용하였다.

Avionics Software Data Modeling Method and Test For FACE Conformance (FACE 적합성을 위한 항공전자 소프트웨어 데이터 모델링 방안 및 검증)

  • The avionics industry has recently adopted an open architecture to increase software portability and reduce the development schedule and cost associated with changing hardware equipment. This paper presents a data modeling method compliant with FACE, a widely used open avionics architecture. A FACE data model is designed and implemented to output data from VOR/ILS avionics equipment. A FACE Conformance Test Suite (CTS) program is utilised to verify that the data model meets FACE standards. The proposed data modeling method is expected to improve the development schedule and cost associated with modifying communication methods and ICDs (Interface Control Documents).
