Control Method for Cut-out of Shorted Load in the Auxiliary Power Supply (보조전원장치의 단락부하 차단기 개방을 위한 제어방법)

  • This paper describes the control methods to cut out the NFB(No Fuse Breaker) of shorted load in the auxiliary power supply, Generally, when the short-circuit occurs in the load of the auxiliary power supply, the auxiliary power supply stops the operation according to the protection sequence. Finally, the other auxiliary power supply stops the operation by the same fault, To resolve this problem, we suggest the control method to trip the NFB of shorted load. That is, when the short circuit occurs, the controller changes control mode from voltage mode to current mode without the operation of output contactor(SIVK) in the auxiliary power supply. The auxiliary power supply provides a large current for the short-circuit load. After some time, the NFB of the short-circuit load is cut off and the auxiliary power supply Provides stable voltage for the loads except for the short-circuit load.

  • Auxiliary power supply for railway vehicle is a equipment that focuses on the service of passengers in a vehicle. It supplies power to controllers used in heating and cooling devices, fluorescent lamps, batteries and many other electrical equipments. Most of the auxiliary power supply for railway vehicle are mainly used for the round trips and circulation routes within the metropolitan area and have a capacity of 170~200 kVA. In this study, we developed the auxiliary power supply capacity to 240kVA for 200km/h class. As such, the auxiliary power supply is an important device for securing the reliability and safety of the railway vehicle and improving the passenger convenience, so the performance verification of the performance must be ensured. In this paper, 240kVA auxiliary power supply is developed. Also, performance of the auxiliary power supply manufactured through the analysis of various characteristics related to the auxiliary power supply was confirmed while operating the actual line.

  • This paper presents a development of the auxiliary power supply simulator for a electric rolling stock. An auxiliary power supplies are required for operating air conditioning units, ventilation fans, lighting and battery charging. Traditionally this function has been fulfilled by Motor-Alternator sets. In recent years, high performance of semiconductor and micro processor, availability and price have made three phase voltage source inverters as an attractive alternative to MA Sets. From the baseline model of the SIV(Static InVerter) for electric rolling stock, we designed the scale down model of the auxiliary power supply simulator consisting of an IGBT three phase voltage source inverter. The auxiliary power supply simulator can be used educatory purpose for training efficiently about operating principles of SIV.

  • In this paper, an input-series auxiliary power supply scheme is proposed, which is suitable for high input voltage and multiple-output applications. The power supply scheme is based on a two-transistor forward topology, all of the series modules have a common duty ratio, all the switches are turned on and off simultaneously, and the whole circuit has a single power transformer. It does not require an additional controller but still achieves efficient input voltage sharing (IVS) for each series module through its inherent transformer-integration strategy. The IVS process of this power supply scheme is analyzed in detail and the design considerations for the related parameters are given. Finally, a 100W multiple-output auxiliary power supply prototype is built, and the experimental results verify the feasibility of the proposed scheme and the validity of the theoretical analysis.

  • The korea Electric Railway feeder voltage is DC 1500V and AC 250000V. The auxiliary power supply of the vehicle auxiliary power units for domestic electrical feed has been developed with domestic technology hyeonchae mounted station, and domestic uses, such as voltage, have been exported to other countries. However, do not use at domestic that can be used for DC 3000V voltage auxiliary power unit does not develop, vehicle exports global. This has already been replaced by imported products from other nations is a real situation. Thus, our auxiliary power unit for the DC 3000V was developed, it will be exported to Ukraine. In this paper, We introduced circuit and structure of developed auxiliary power supply unit, and verified the performance with output characteristic of the auxiliary power unit.

  • Electrical Power supply System conditions of korea high speed train consists of main transformer, four AC-DC PWM converter of Auxiliary Block, Battery Charger in Power Car and Trailer Car, Trailer Inverter, Auxiliary inverter. Main transformer, at nominal voltage of 25kv supplied to secondary winding nominal output Voltage 383Vac, The Auxiliary block consists of AC-DC converters for generating 670VDC power, Auxiliary inverters for ventilation and air compressor, Trailer car inverter provide three phase power supplies at 440Vac for air conditioning and heating. The Battery charger Trailer and Power car supplies 72VDC all necessary equipment to energize the trainset equipment and suppy essential control. This Paper introduces the combined test results of the power supply system for korea high speed train. The main purpose of this combined test is to verify the performance of the power supply system that is designed to operate up to full load test.

  • Auxiliary power supply developed by domestic technology has very important function that not only effect on main power converter & inverter system, traction motor and train control system which are related to performance of train, but also influence on power supply for HVAC(Heat, Ventilation, Air-conditioning) and lighting device which are related to comfort of passengers. This paper shows characteristic test results of auxiliary power supply such as working condition and performance, which is associated with velocity of train, operating mode and surrounding equipment, through test running. Also it shows the results deduced from comparison analysis between designed data and manufactory test data as measuring in put voltage of auxiliary power supply. And, it propose a modification of design parameter for stabilizing operation and improving reliability.

  • The auxiliary power supply system fur passenger service of railway car has been developed from MA(Motor-Alternator) to CVCF Inverter (Static Inverter). Generally, a customer wants to apply tile new control method and device for auxiliary power supply of railcar However, if the auxiliary power supply is supplied to extended existing line, the maintenance cost of the old system is less expensive than new developed system, so, the customer specifies that the auxiliary power supply has compatibility with existing one completely. At that time, the hardware is nearly same as existing system except small changes of accessories for better performance. This paper describes the flicker control using feed-forward method of auxiliary power supply system for new 50 electric railcars, which are delivered to Korean National Railroad (KNR) Kwa-chon Line. The existing power supply system has damping resistor box to stabilize the DC input (1.5 ㎸). At this time, for better system efficiency the new system has not include resistor box but new control method including feed-forward control is applied. This control algorithm realizes the better stabilization of input power compared to the result of the existing system, which includes resistor box
