  • In this paper, we designed a intelligent autonomous driving robot by using Fuzzy algorithm. The object of designed robot is recognition of obstacle, avoidance of obstacle and safe arrival. We append a suspension system to auxiliary wheel for improvement in stability and movement. The designed robot can arrive at destination where is wanted to go by the old and the weak and the handicapped at indoor hospital and building.

  • Methods for the estimation of the coefficient matrices in the equation of motion for a linear multi-degree-of-freedom structure arc studied. For this purpose, the equation of motion is transformed into an auto-regressive and moving average with auxiliary input (ARMAX) model. The ARMAX parameters are evaluated using several methods of parameter estimation; such as toe least squares, the instrumental variable, the maximum likelihood and the limited Information maximum likelihood methods. Then the parameters of the equation of motion are recovered therefrom. Numerical example is given for a 3-story building model subjected to an earthquake exitation.

  • The modal parameter estimations of linear multi-degree-of-freedom structural dynamic systems are carried out in time domain. For this purpose, the equation of motion is transformed into the autoregressive and moving average model with auxiliary stochastic input (ARMAX) model. The parameters of the ARMAX model are estimated by using the sequential prediction error method. Then, the modal parameters of the system are obtained thereafter. Experimental results are given for a 3-story building model subject to ground exitations.

  • In this article, the author carried out a theoretical study on the application techniques of a new Combined Passive Solar System (hereinafter referred to as the CPSS) of direct gain and trombe walls to get quick morning heating and to prevent afternoon overheating for office building. The numerical model proposed in this study can be used for the performance analysis of the CPSS in the winter and summer. Heating and Cooling loads are analysed for building energy consumption reduction using this numerical model. The results indicate that CPSS in the winter and summer modes could provide profitable conditions for improvement of indoor thermal comfort control and energy saving. consequently, the application of CPSS will not lead to significant reductions in the auxiliary air conditioning demand but also realize the environmentally friendly building.

학교건축의 복도(複道) 계획에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Architectural Design of Student Circulation Space)

  • The architectural design of student circulation space has a pronounced influence on the educational function of a school building. Recent curriculum and new teaching methods have required the sufficient space provided for circulation and various circulation spaces in a school building, such as elevator, pilotis, bridge, atrium, deck, lobby and locker room. However excessive circulation space is wasteful form the standpoint of both initial investment and operation. This study aims to investigate new circulation patterns and functions, and to propose the adequate size in planning a school corridor. For this purpose, it explores the recent trends of the corridor planning represented in the excellent school facilities in 2002. and analyzes the newly-added functions In the school corridor : architectural in-between space, dwelling space for ordinary activities, space for educational media and auxiliary learning space. This research recommends that the corridor width be carefully planned according to the supposed functions in order to achieve the efficiency in the design of school facilities.

Investigation on damage development of AP1000 nuclear power plant in strong ground motions with numerical simulation

  • Seismic safety is considered to be one of the key design objectives of AP1000 nuclear power plant (NPP) in strong earthquakes. Dynamic behavior, damage development and aggravation effect are studied in this study for the three main components of AP1000 NPP, namely reinforced concrete shield building (RCSB), steel vessel containment (SVC) and reinforced concrete auxiliary building (RCAB). Characteristics including nonlinear concrete tension and compressive constitutions with plastic damage are employed to establish the numerical model, which is further validated by existing studies. The author investigates three earthquakes and eight input levels with the maximum magnitude of 2.4 g and the results show that the concrete material of both RCSB and RCAB have suffered serious damage in intense earthquakes. Considering RCAB in the whole NPP, significant damage aggravation effect can be detected, which is mainly concentrated at the upper intersection between RCSB and RCAB. SVC and reinforcing bar demonstrate excellent seismic performance with no obvious damage.

계면활성제계 그라우트를 활용한 흙막이 벽체공법(CIP)의 현장 적용성 평가 (Evaluation on Field Applicability of Cast-In-Place Pile using Surfactant Grout)

  • 지하수위의 영향을 받는 지반에 대하여 터파기를 실시할 경우 차수문제를 해결하기 위한 방법으로 현장타설말뚝 공법인 CIP (Cast-In-Place Pile) 공법이 보편적으로 사용되고 있다. 그러나 CIP 공법은 말뚝간 연결성이 좋지 않아 많은 경우 차수에 대한 별도의 처리를 필요로 한다. 본 연구에서는 수중불분리성과 침투성을 향상시켜주는 계면활성제(Hi-FA)를 활용한 그라우트를 사용하여 기존 CIP 공법 대비 보조차수 공법의 필요성을 최소화한 새로운 개념의 흙막이 공법(H-CIP)을 제시하고, 이 공법의 현장 적용성에 대하여 검토하였다. 현장 검증실험을 위하여 동일한 지반조건에 대하여 H-CIP 공법과 기존 CIP 공법으로 각각 차수벽을 시공하고, 성능검증을 위한 현장시험 및 실내시험을 수행하였다. 현장 실험결과 새로 제안된 H-CIP 공법은 기존 CIP 공법에 비하여 현장 차수능과 강도가 우수한 것으로 나타났다.

FLOODING PSA BY CONSIDERING THE OPERATING EXPERIENCE DATA OF KOREAN PWRs

  • The existing flooding Probabilistic Safety Analysis(PSA) was updated to reflect the Korean plant specific operating experience data into the flooding frequency to improve the PSA quality. Both the Nuclear Power Experience(NPE) database and the Korea Nuclear Pipe Failure Database(NuPIPE) databases were used in this study, and from these databases, only the Pressurized Water Reactor(PWR) data were used for the flooding frequencies of the flooding areas in the primary auxiliary building. With these databases and a Bayesian method, the flooding frequencies for the flooding areas were estimated. Subsequently, the Core Damage Frequency(CDF) for the flooding PSA of the Ulchin(UCN) unit 3 and 4 plants based on the Korean Standard Nuclear Power Plant(KSNP) internal full-power PSA model was recalculated. The evaluation results showed that sixteen flooding events are potentially significant according to the screening criterion, while there were two flooding events exceeding the screening criterion of the existing UCN 3 and 4 flooding PSA. The result was compared with two kinds of cases: (1) the flooding frequency and CDF from the method of the existing flooding PSA with the PWR and Boiled Water Reactor(BWR) data of the NPE database and the Maximum Likelihood Estimate(MLE) method and (2) the flooding frequency and CDF with the NPE database(PWR and BWR data), NuPIPE database, and a Bayesian method. From the comparison, a difference in CDF results was revealed more clearly between the CDF from this study and case (2) than between case (1) and case (2). That is, the number of flooding events exceeding the screen criterion further increased when only the PWR data were used for the primary auxiliary building than when the Korean specific data were used.

정림사지 창건시기 재고 (Reconsideration of the Construction Period of the Jeongnimsaji Temple Site)

  • It was believed that Jeongnimsa temple was built after the capital was moved from Gongju to Buyeo. It was confirmed that it was built A.D. $625{\pm}20$ by conducting a paleomagnetic analysis on the fireplace, which was recently found at the bottom of Jungmunji(middle gate). Consequently, it is assumed that the temple was built in the early 7th century unlike the previous point of view. Therefore, this study evaluated if the fireplace at the bottom of Jungmunji was found at the geological stratum representing the Jeongnimsa temple. Moreover, the study examined when the fireplace at the bottom of Jungmunji was constructed on the soil stratum. It is possible that the fireplace was built in the early 7th century as shown in the paleomagnetic analysis. However, when we compared the soil strata of the Jungmunji and the existing five-story stone pagoda, it showed that the ground was prepared differently and they were built over a fairly long period of time. Furthermore, I discovered that there was a wooden pagoda under the five-story stone pagoda by examining the soil strata map. Therefore, previous studies evaluated the arrangement of auxiliary buildings of Jeongnimsa temple and concluded that it was built in the early 7th century. It is hard to determine when the temple was built based on the arrangement of auxiliary buildings, because it takes a long time to build a temple and auxiliary buildings can be relocated during this long construction period. Rather, we have to admit that there are various arrangement patterns through minor changes in buildings from the one pagoda and one main building(Geumdang) arrangement.

원전 격납건물 라이너플레이트 배면 콘크리트 채움 여부 점검 기술 개발 (Development of Inspection Technique for Filling or Unfilling of Containment Liner Plate Backside Concrete in Nuclear Power Plant)

  • The Nuclear containment building is a main safety-related structure that performs shielding and conservation functions to prevent highly radioactive materials from leakage to the outside environment in the case of various environmental conditions and postulated accidents. The containment building contains a reactor, steam generator, pressurizer, tank, reactor coolant system, auxiliary system and engineering safety system, and is designed so that highly radioactive materials above the limits specified in 10 CFR 100 do not escape to the outside environment in the case of LOCA(Loss of Coolant Accident) for instance. The containment metal liner plate(CLP) is a carbon steel plate with a nominal plate thickness of 6 mm, which functions as a mold for the wall and dome of the containment building when concrete is filled, fulfills airtightness to prevent leakage of seriously radioactive materials. In recent years, backside corrosion was found on the liner plate in some domestic nuclear power plants. The main cause of backside corrosion was unfilled concrete. In this paper, an inspection technique of assessing filling suitability for CLP backside concrete is developed. Results show that the validity of inspection technique for CLP backside concrete using vibration sensor is successfully verified.
