From the past to the present, banners are consistently used as effective advertising means. In the case of Korea, there are frequent situations in which hidden advertisements are installed. As a result, such hidden advertisement materials may damage urban aesthetics and moreover, incur unnecessary manpower consumption and waste of money. The proposed method classifies the detected banners into good banner and bad banner. The classification results are based on whether the relevant banners are installed in compliance with legal guidelines. In the process, YOLO and Open Computer Vision library are used to determine from various perspectives whether banners in CCTV images comply with the guidelines. YOLO is used to detect the banner area in CCTV images, and OpenCV is used to detect the color values in the area for color comparison. If a banner is detected in the video, the proposed method calculates the location of the banner and the distance from the designated bulletin to determine whether it was installed within the designated location, and then compares whether the color used in the banner is complied with local government guidelines.
Automatic docking of small planing ship is a critical aspect of maritime operations, requiring accurate prediction of motion states to ensure safe and efficient maneuvers. This study investigates the use of Artificial Neural Network (ANN) to predict motion state of a small planing ship to enhance navigation automation in port environments. To achieve this, simulation tests were conducted to control a small planing ship while docking at various heading angles in calm water and in waves. Comprehensive analysis of the ANN-based predictive model was conducted by training and validation using data from various docking situations to improve its ability to accurately capture motion characteristics of a small planing ship. The trained ANN model was used to predict the motion state of the small planning ship based on any initial motion state. Results showed that the small planing ship could dock smoothly in both calm water and waves conditions, confirming the accuracy and reliability of the proposed method for prediction. Moreover, the ANN-based prediction model can adjust the dynamic model of the small planing ship to adapt in real-time and enhance the robustness of an automatic positioning system. This study contributes to the ongoing development of automated navigation systems and facilitates safer and more efficient maritime transport operations.

The fluid power products are widely used in current industrial area such as automation of products and equipment assembly, high-tech machine tool, aircraft, train, and etc. As the development of industry is in progress, the development of the fluid power products is demanding and it is required in every industrial area. This research proposed a pneumatic system to evaluate displacement accuracy of the pneumatic actuator without external load and to analyze capability of integration of the valve system. The pneumatic system consisted of a combination of pneumatic actuator, four two-port valves, two three-port valves, two pressure valve, a check valve, two proximity sensors, and a program logic controller (PLC). The position controller is based on the PLC connected with the proximity sensors. The maximum air pressure applied for tests was $49.05N/cm^2$ and the displacement accuracy of a stroke was measured using a dial gauge. The supply- and discharge-side of air pressure and the length of the stroke of the pneumatic cylinder were varied The test of the position control of the pneumatic cylinder was carried out 50 times at each supply- and discharge-side air pressure of 24.53/34.34, 29.43/39.24, 34.34/44.15, and $39.24/49.05N/cm^2$ and replicated three times. The accuracy of the displacement of the pneumatic cylinder stroke increased as the supply- and discharge-side of air pressure increased with the stroke length of 133mm. Also the displacement accuracy increased as the stroke length increased with the fixed supply- and discharge-side of air pressure of the pneumatic cylinder as 34.34 and $44.15N/cm^2$, respectively. The most accurate displacement of the pneumatic cylinder was obtained at the supplyand discharge-side of air pressure of 39.24 and $49.05N/cm^2$, respectively, and strokes of 170 and 190mm.

Home service robot are not working in the fixed task such as industrial robot, because they are together with human in the same indoor space, but have to do in much more flexible and various environments. Most of them are developed on the base of the wheel-base mobile robot in the same method as a vehicle robot for factory automation. In these days, for holonomic system characteristics, omni-directional wheels are used in the mobile robot. A holonomicrobot, using omni-directional wheels, is capable of driving in any direction. But trajectory control for omni-directional mobile robot is not easy. Especially, azimuth control which sensor uncertainty problem is included is much more difficult. This paper develops trajectory controller of 3-wheels omni-directional mobile robot using fuzzy azimuth estimator. A trajectory controller for an omni-directional mobile robot, which each motor is controlled by an individual PID law to follow the speed command from inverse kinematics, needs a precise sensing data of its azimuth and exact estimation of reference azimuth value. It has imprecision and uncertainty inherent to perception sensors for azimuth. In this paper, they are solved by using fuzzy logic inference which can be used straightforward to perform the control of the mobile robot by means of the fuzzy behavior-based scheme already existent in literature. Finally, the good performance of the developed mobile robot is confirmed through live tests of path control task.
Operation of rice whiteners has been depending on operator's experience only and very limitted data are available for operational criteria of rice whiteners in Korea. With developments of new rice varieties and with a tendency of automation of machine operations for precision control, operational criteria depending on physical characteristics of rice grains arc required for an improvement of milled rice recovery and the performance of rice whitening systems. An experimental study was conducted to identify operational criteria of a rice whitening system consisted with an abrasive-aerated whitener developed newly and a frictional-aerated whitener being used commercially. Further, comparisons were made between the performance of the rice whitening system adopted for this study and a commercial system used in small scale milling plants. Results of this study are summarized as follows: 1. Total number of passes necessary for the final white rice in the combined whitening system depended exclusively on the counter pressure level of the frictional whitener successive to the abrasive whitener. 2. The counter pressure required for whitening Japonica type rice variety (Akibare) was higher by about 1.6 times than that for Japonica type (Pung-san), when other conditions were kept at the same. 3. Radial pressure in the whitening chamber of the frictional whitener should be maintained between 1.5 to $2.1kg/cm^2$ for the completion of whitening within 5 to 3 passes regardless of rice varieties. Hence, it was found that the radial pressure in the whitening chamber could be used as an operational criteria to control the counter pressure level. 4. The following regression equation was found between radial pressure($R_p$) in whitening chamber and electric power consumption of the whitening system: $$EPC=-0.545\;R^2_p+1.277\;R_p+0.874[KWH/100kg]$$ 5. The following multiple regression equation was found among radial pressure ($R_p$), counter pressure ($C_p$), and bioyield point ($B_i$), length (L) and width (W) of brown rice. $$R_p/(B_i/W^2)=0.547\{C_p/(B_i/W^2)\}^{0.365}(L/W)^{0.120}(R^2=0.9897)$$ 6. The milled rice recovery and machine efficiency (kg/KWH) from the combined whitening system were higher by about 2.0% point and by 15 to 27% point than those from the conventional system, respectively.

This paper reviewed the necessity of a information and communication technology (ICT)-based smart livestock system as a development strategy for the animal life industry in the future. It also predicted the trends of livestock and animal food until 2050, 30 years later. Worldwide, livestock raising and consumption of animal food are rapidly changing in response to population growth, aging, reduction of agriculture population, urbanization, and income growth. Climate change can change the environment and livestock's productivity and reproductive efficiencies. Livestock production can lead to increased greenhouse gas emissions, land degradation, water pollution, animal welfare, and human health problems. To solve these issues, there is a need for a preemptive future response strategy to respond to climate change, improve productivity, animal welfare, and nutritional quality of animal foods, and prevent animal diseases using ICT-based smart livestock system fused with the 4th industrial revolution in various aspects of the animal life industry. The animal life industry of the future needs to integrate automation to improve sustainability and production efficiency. In the digital age, intelligent precision animal feeding with IoT (internet of things) and big data, ICT-based smart livestock system can collect, process, and analyze data from various sources in the animal life industry. It is composed of a digital system that can precisely remote control environmental parameters inside and outside the animal husbandry. The ICT-based smart livestock system can also be used for monitoring animal behavior and welfare, and feeding management of livestock using sensing technology for remote control through the Internet and mobile phones. It can be helpful in the collection, storage, retrieval, and dissemination of a wide range of information that farmers need. It can provide new information services to farmers.

LMTT (Linear Motor-based Transfer Technology) is a horizontal transfer system for the yard automation. which has been proposed to take the place qf AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle) in the maritime container terminal. the system is based on PMLSM (Permanent Magnetic Linear Synchronous Motor) that consists of stator modules on the rail and shuttle mr. It is desirable to reduce the weight of LMTT in order to control the electronic devices with minimum energy. In this research structural optimization for a mover of shuttle mr is performed to minimize the weight satisfying design criteria the objective function is set up as weight. On the contrary, design variable is considered as transverse, longitudinal and wheel beam's thickness and shape variable determining the dimension toward high direction and the constraints are the stresses.
Since late of 2000, KIER has developed a novel pyrolysis process for production of fuel oils from polymer wastes. It could have been possible due to large-scale funding of the Resource Recycling R&D Center. The target was to develop an uncatalyzed, continuous and automatic process producing oils that can be used as a fuel for small-scale industrial boilers. The process development has proceeded in three stages bench-scale unit, pilot plant and demonstration plant. As a result, the demonstration plant having capacity of 3,000 tons/year has been constructed and is currently under test operation for optimization of operation conditions. The process consisted of four parts ; feeding system, cracking reactor, refining system and others. Raw materials were pretreated via shredding and classifying to remove minerals, water, etc. There were 3 kind of products, oils(80%), gas(15%), carbonic residue(5%). The main products i.e. oils were gasoline and diesel. The calorific value of gas has been found to be about 18,000kcal/$m^3$ which is similar to petroleum gas and shows that it could be used as a process fuel. Key technologies adopted in the process are 1) Recirculation of feed for rapid melting and enhancement of fluidity for automatic control of system, 2) Tubular reactor specially-designed for heavy heat flux and prevention of coking, 3)Recirculation of heavy fraction for prevention of wax formation, and 4) continuous removal & re-reaction of sludge for high yield of main product (oil) and minimization of residue. The advantages of the process are full automation, continuous operation, no requirement of catalyst, minimization of coking and sludge problems, maximizing the product(fuel oil) yield and purity, low initial investment and operation costs and environment- friendly process. In this presentation, background of pyrolysis technology development, the details of KIER pyrolysis process flow, key technologies and the performances of the process will be discussed in detail.
An Altari radish pre-processing system, which feasible to process automatically such operations as leaf and root tail cutting and root peeling, for kimchi production was accomplished based on the foregone serial studies. In this study, the performances of the developed prototype machine, considered as a commercializing level, were analyzed and evaluated. The prototype machine attached Tiny PLC automatic control system was performed the sequent function as the rate of successful peeling was more than 98% for the Altari radish less than 70 mm diameter of a radish. The operating efficiency of this was 9 see/each, 128 kg/h, and it means as much as $5{\sim}6$ times that of a woman labor's. The sanitation and taste of the mechanized-processed Altari radish kimchi was almost same as that of the handmade. And they were suitable for manufactory of kimchi as the both short term ripening and storing kimchi. Developed machinery with one peeling device and two peeling devices that compared with hand processing, it was analyzed that the break-even yearly working days were 28 days and 19 days, and the break-even yearly processing amount were 28,700 kg, 32,400 kg, respectively.
The present study was performed to validate an automated image analysis system (Loats Automated Micronucleus Scoring System) for the mouse bone marrow micronucleus assay, comparing with conventional microscopic scoring. Two studies were conducted to provide slides for a comparison of micro-nucleated polychromatic erythrocytes (MNPCEs) values collected manually to those collected by the auto-mated system. Test article A was used as an example of a compound negative for the induction of micronuclei and test article B was wed as a micronucleus-inducing agent to elicit a positive response. Cyclophosphamide was included to provide an positive control in two studies. Bone marrow samples were collected 24 h after administration of test article A and B in male ICR mice. The cells were fixed with absolute methanol and stained with May-Grunwald and Giemsa. The number of MNPCEs was determined by the analysis of 1000 total PCEs per bone marrow sample. In addition to micronucleus scoring, an index of bone marrow toxicity based on PCE ratio (% of PCEs to total erythrocytes) was determined for each sample. The automated and manual scoring was similar when the MNPCEs incidence induced by each test article was less than 10. However manual scoring was able to effectively enumerate micronucleated PCEs in mouse bone marrow when MNPCEs incidence was more than 10, such as cyclophosphamide treatment. Conversely, PCE ratio was superior in computer-assisted image analysis. Taken together, it is suggested that improvement of the automated image analysis may be necessary to render the automatic scoring as sensitive as manual scoring for routine counting of micronuclei, especially because it is superior in objectivity and high throughput scoring.
