Automatic Estimation of 2D Facial Muscle Parameter Using Neural Network (신경회로망을 이용한 2D 얼굴근육 파라메터의 자동인식)

  • Muscle based face image synthesis is one of the most realistic approach to realize life-like agent in computer. Facial muscle model is composed of facial tissue elements and muscles. In this model, forces are calculated effecting facial tissue element by contraction of each muscle strength, so the combination of each muscle parameter decide a specific facial expression. Now each muscle parameter is decided on trial and error procedure comparing the sample photograph and generated image using our Muscle-Editor to generate a specific face image. In this paper, we propose the strategy of automatic estimation of facial muscle parameters from 2D marker movement using neural network. This also 3D motion estimation from 2D point or flow information in captered image under restriction of physics based face model.

  • In this paper, we propose a new listen-in technique to overcome the problems and the shortcomings which could possibly meet in the previous listen-in methods to deal with the blind signal manually according to operator's decision. In the proposed listen-in method, receiving the signals, classifying the modulation types, and demodulating the signals can be done automatically without operator's intervention. We realize the listen-in technology by developing the high speed frequency tuner, the automatic modulation recognizer, and the signal demodulator. In conclusion, we confirm and show that the developed equipment has a good performance in classifying the modulation type through the computer simulation and the field test.

  • In this paper, an algorithm for automatic schematic generation which creates schematic diagram from netlist are proposed. The important objectives on schematic generation are readability and clarity of resulting schematics. Each stage of generation should aim at enhancing these objectives. For this reason, schematic generation problem is divided into 5 subproblems` preprocessing, logical placement, pin assignment and improvement of placement, global routing, and detailed routing. The algorithm is implemented in C language, and it generates schematics from the results of logic synthesis in order to make it east for designers to understand the design and reflect their knowledge into design.

  • The trajectory planning for the manipulator installed on "the automatic pothole repair vehicle" is discussed and the final surface of the patched pot hole is simulated in this work. The relationship between the accumulation data of the mixture with and without the movement of the manipulator is identified to utilize the latter data for the calculation of the former one. Based on this relationship, the method to calculate the accumulation of the mixture when the manipulator changes the speed and the direction is also introduced. The trajectory is determined to make the final surface smooth under the condition that the pothole is cut to hexahedron before patching and only the spacing and the shifting of the manipulator is controllable. Final surface is simulated by the computer to prove the adequacy of the determined trajectory.

  • This paper describes the design of a high-level synthesis system. SODAS-VP. which automatically generates hardwares executing operation sequences in pipelined fashion.Target architecture and clocking schemes to drive pipelined datapath are determined, and the handling of pipeline hazards which degrade the performance of pipeline is considered. Partitioning of an operation into load, operation, and store stages, each of which is executed in partitiones control step, is performend. Pipelinecl hardware is generated by handling pipeline hazards with internal forwarding or delay insertion techniques in partitioning process and resolving resource conflicts among the partitioned control steps with similarity measure as a priority function in module allocation process. Experimental results show that SODAS-VP generates hardwares that execute faster than those generated by HAL and ALPS systems. SODAS-VP brings improvement in execution speed by 17.1% and 7.4% comparing with HAL and ALPS systems for a MCNC benchmark program, 5th order elliptical wave filter,respectively.

  • The roof crane system is used for transporting a variable load to a target position. The goal of crane control system is transporting the load to a goal position as quick as possible without rope oscillation. The crane is generally operated by an expert operator, but recently an automatic control system with high speed and rapid tansportation is required. In this paper, we developed a simple fuzzy controller which has been introduced expert's knowledge base for anti-swing and rapid tranportation to goal position. In particular, we proposed the synthesis reasoning method which synthesizes on the basis of expert knowledge of the angle control input and position control input which are inferenced parallel and simultaneously. And we confirmed that the performance of the developed controller is effective as a result of applying it to crane simulator and also verified whether the proposed synthesis rules have been applied correctly using clustering algorithm from the measured data.

  • In this pape, we propose a graph-theoretic approach for solving the allocation problem for the synthesis of datapaths based on multiport memories. An efficient algorithm is devised by using the weighted bipartite matching algorithm to assign variables to each port of memory modules. The proposed algorithm assigns program variables into a minimum number of multiport memory modules such that usage of memory elements and interconnection cost can be kept minimal. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm generates the datapaths with fewer registers in memory modules and less interconnection cost for several benchmarks available from the literatures.

  • Up until now, it is said that no satisfactory computer solutions have been found for synthesizing four-bar linkage based on the prescribed coupler link curve. In our study, an algorithm has been developed to improve the design synthesis of four-bar linkage automatically generating prescribed path by using B-spline interpolation. The suggested algorithm generates the desired coupler curve by using B-spline interpolation, and hence the generated curve approximates as closely as to the desired curve representing coupler link trajectory. Also, when comparing each generated polygon with the control polygon, rapid comparison by applying convex hull concept. finally, optimization process using ADS is incorporated into the algorithm based on the 5 precision point method to reduce the total optimization process time. As for examples, three different four-bar linkages were tested and the results showed the effectiveness of the algorithm.

  • 본 연구에서는 사용자가 즉석에서 연주한 곡에 대응하는 춤 동작을 자동으로 생성하는 기술을 제안한다. 본 기법은 먼저 댄서로부터 모션 캡쳐 받은 춤 시퀀스를 분절화한 후 사용자가 신디사이저를 통해 직접 연주하여 얻은 MIDI 데이터를 분석해 음악에서의 특징점을 추출한다. 그리고 분절화 한 모션의 세그먼트들을 음악에 맞춰 다시 배열하여 새로운 춤 시퀀스를 생성함으로써 사용자가 연주한 음악과 어울리는 춤 동작을 자동으로 생성한다. 이를 위해 세 단계의 작업을 수행하게 되는데, 첫 번째 단계에서 모션 캡쳐를 통해 얻게 된 데이터에서 캐릭터의 위치와 자세를 기준으로 하여 긴 시퀀스를 의미 있는 작은 춤 동작으로 분절화한다. 두 번째 단계에서는 사용자의 연주를 통해 획득한 MIDI를 분석하여 특징점을 추출하고, 마지막 단계에서는 이를 바탕으로 음악에 기반한 음악과 동작을 합성한다. 본 연구는 음악과 댄스의 리듬감이 파괴되지 않도록 합성함으로써 우리의 연구는 기존 연구에 비해서 훨씬 자연스러운 춤 시퀀스를 결과물로 만들어 낸다.
