A Functional Design of Connection Control in the NG-SDG based Transport System (NG-SDH 기반 전송 시스템에서의 연결제어 기능 설계)

  • The paper describes a design process of the connection control function that performs overall procedures of optical network control system in the Next Generation - Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (NG-SDH) based transport system. Here, the NG-SDH means a new SDH technology that could perform automatic connection control with a granularity of VC-3 (about 50M) or VC-4 (about 150M) according to the increase and decrease of traffic, which is different from the existing technology that could perform connection control only with a granularity of a physical SDH link (STM-l, STM-4, STM-16, STM-64, STM-256 etc). The NG-SDH based connection control allows an ingress NG-SDH node to control the appropriate connection establishment process according to connection types such as Permanent Connection (PC), Soft Permanent Connection (SPC), Switched Connection (SC) over various SDH and Ethernet line cards.

Visibility-based Automatic Path Generation Method for Virtual Colonoscopy (가상 대장내시경을 위한 가시성을 이용한 자동 경로 생성법)

  • Virtual colonoscopy is an easy and fast method to reconstruct the shape of colon and diagnose tumors inside the colon based on computed tomography images. This is a non-invasive method, which resolves weak points of previous invasive methods. The path for virtual colonoscopy should be generated rapidly and accurately for clinical examination. However, previous methods are computationally expensive because the data structure such as distance map should be constructed in the preprocessing and positions of all the points of the path needs to be calculated. In this paper, we propose the automatic path generation method based on visibility to decrease path generation time. The proposed method does not require preprocessing and generates small number of control points representing the Path instead of all points to generate the path rapidly. Also, our method generates the path based on visibility so that a virtual camera moves smoothly and a comfortable and accurate path is calculated for virtual navigation. Also, our method can be used for general virtual navigation of various kinds of pipes.

  • Software-In-the-Loop Simulation(SILS) and Rapid Control Prototyping(RCP) are proposed as an integrated development environment to support the development process from system design to implementation. SILS is an environment used to simulate control systems with temporal behavior. RCP offers seamless phase shift from design to implementation based on automatic code generation. There are several toolsets that support control system design and analysis. A few of these tools generate the control software automatically. However, most of these design toolsets do not cover temporal behavior which appears after implementation. In earlier toolsets, the design and the implementation of a control system are considered as two separate processes which mean the conventional development process is not connected strictly. SILS/RCP environments work under an identical platform and use the same representation for system modeling. An integrated SILS/RCP environment makes it possible to design controllers under conditions similar to real execution during off-line simulation and to realize controllers in the early design phase. SILS/RCP environments integrate the design and implementation phases which reduce the time-to-market and provide greater performance-assured design. The establishment of SILS/RCP and the practical design approaches are presented.

Real Time 1/3 Octave Band Control System for High Intensity Acoustic Chamber (음향 챔버 내부의 1/3 옥타브 스펙트럼 실시간 제어 시스템)

  • This paper presents the performance and the algorithm of a 1/3-octave band spectrum control system. The system is developed to provide various spectrums in a high intensity acoustic chamber. The required spectrum, which usually comes from launch vehicle company, starts from 25Hz band and ends 10kHz band. Automatic spectrum control system is preferred since the system requires short settling time to guarantee the safety of test objects and to reduce the amount of operating gas. The developed system adapted a PCI data-acquisition/signal-generation board installed in a personal computer to implement whole control logic. The control software used three cascade digital Butterworth filters using software. The filers are designed following ANSI S1.11 standard to implement 1/3 octave band filter bank. The graphical user interface of the system guides the user to follow standard operation procedure. The averaged control spectrum showed less than 0.05 dB in every running 1/3-octave band.

  • This paper describes the design of a high-level synthesis system. SODAS-VP. which automatically generates hardwares executing operation sequences in pipelined fashion.Target architecture and clocking schemes to drive pipelined datapath are determined, and the handling of pipeline hazards which degrade the performance of pipeline is considered. Partitioning of an operation into load, operation, and store stages, each of which is executed in partitiones control step, is performend. Pipelinecl hardware is generated by handling pipeline hazards with internal forwarding or delay insertion techniques in partitioning process and resolving resource conflicts among the partitioned control steps with similarity measure as a priority function in module allocation process. Experimental results show that SODAS-VP generates hardwares that execute faster than those generated by HAL and ALPS systems. SODAS-VP brings improvement in execution speed by 17.1% and 7.4% comparing with HAL and ALPS systems for a MCNC benchmark program, 5th order elliptical wave filter,respectively.

  • To construct the extrusion die surface, a B-Spline surface scheme based on the cubic B-Spline curve interpolation method is proposed in the present work. The inlet and outlet profiles are described with B-Spline curves by using the centripetal method for uniform parameterization. The interior control points of surface are generated using the derivative characteristics of B-Spline curve. A complete B-Spline surface is constructed by using appropriate coordinate transformation and knot deletion. In the present study, a quantitative measure for the control of surface is suggested by introducing the tangential vector and inclination angles at the inlet and outlet sections. To verify the validity of the proposed method, automatic surface generation is carried out for the various types of extrusion die surface.

  • The paper introduces the system AUTO-CUT for the automatic generation of NC tapes for wire-cut EDM(Electrodischarge Machining) parts. The information input to the system is the description of the part geometries, the tool motions and the cutting conditions etc. The system generates CLDATA and machine control data. Also dynamic simulation of tool motions can be performed on the screen.

  • 최근 들어 전력 계통은 점차 복잡해지고 계통의 규모 역시 빠른 속도로 성장하고 있다. 한국전력거래소는 전력계통의 안정적, 경제적 운영을 담당하고 있는 기관으로 '01년 현재의 에너지관리시스템(EMS)를 도입하여 실시간 전력계통에 대한 정확한 판단을 기반으로 전력계통의 안정성과 경제성 확보에 주력하고 있다. EMS의 대표적인 기능이라 할 수 있는 AGC(Automatic Generation Control)은 실시간으로 변화하는 전력수요를 맞추기 위해 전력 계통에 병입된 AGC 제어 대상 발전기의 출력을 가장 경제적이며 안정적으로 조정하는 것을 담당한다. 이 때 전력수요와 발전기 출력의 차이를 나타내는 것이 주파수인데 현재 주파수와 정규 주파수(60Hz)의 편차를 줄이기 위해 개별 발전기의 특성인 분당 증감발율을 사용하여 개별 발전기에 제어량을 배분하게 된다. 본고에서는 먼저 현재 운영중인 EMS에 구현된 알고리즘을 소개하고 기존 알고리즘의 개선방안인 그룹제어 방식에 대해 소개하고자 한다. 그룹제어 방식은 여러 대의 발전기를 특정 그룹으로 정해 제어신호를 최소화하는 기법으로 과도한 제어신호로 인한 발전기의 피로도를 저감하고 전력계통의 요동을 방지할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

  • The terminal voltage of a synchronous generator is maintained by the field current control of excitation system Generally AC/DC converter which is component of AVR(Automatic Voltage Regulator) system for excitation current control is connected to diode rectifier and DC/DC converter system In the case of diode rectifier system of phase controlled converter, AC/DC converter has low power factor and some low order harmonics in the line current. In this paper, two-stage three-phase PWM AC/DC converter is studied to solve these problems, The proposed method is verified by the computer simulations and experimental results in prototype generation system.

  • This paper is concerned with a simultaneous design of TSK (Takagi-Sugeno-Kang)-linguistic fuzzy models with uncertain model output and the computationally efficient representation. For this purpose, we use the fundamental idea of linguistic models introduced by Pedrycz and develop their comprehensive design framework. The design process consists of several main phases such as (a) the automatic generation of the linguistic contexts by probabilistic distribution using CDF (conditional density function) and PDF (probability density function) (b) performing context-based fuzzy clustering preserving homogeneity based on the concept of fuzzy granulation (c) augment of bias term to compensate bias error (d) combination of TSK and linguistic context in the consequent part. Finally, we contrast the performance of the enhanced models with other fuzzy models for automobile MPG predication data and coagulant dosing process in a water purification plant.
