  • The power semiconductor is widely used in the power plant or industrial field because of genealization and enlargement. It has been controlled and operated according to its own control method. Especially in case of Power plant, it plays a major role in AVR(Automatic Voltage Regulator) or electro chlorination control circuits. Generally, they used in Analog control system at above field. But each SCR current value is different because of load unbalance or switching characteristic variations, it may cause power plant unit trip or system disorder according to SCR element burn out or bad operating condition. Therefore, in this paper a development of 3 phase current balance control algorithm is described. it gets over the past analog control system limit, controls SCR gate firing angle for 3 phase current balance.

  • 본 논문에서는 단상 5kVA의 용량을 갖는 3-레그 방식의 고효율 자동전압조정기에 최적화된 방열설계가 제안된다. 3-레그 자동전압조정기의 경우 스위칭 알고리즘에 따라 스위칭 횟수가 줄어들어 효율이 좋은 장점이 있다. 스위칭 소자로 IGBT를 사용하여 열 분배가 중요함으로 전력변환 장치의 신뢰성과 안전성을 높일 수 있도록 최적화된 방열설계안을 제시하고 설계의 타당성을 위해 시뮬레이션을 통한 검증을 수행하였다.

  • The paper presents a method of constructing simple fuzzy control rules for the determination of stabilizing signals of automatic voltage regulator and governor, which are controllers of electric power systems. Fuzzy control rules are simplified by considering a coordinate transformation with the rotation angle .theta. on the phase plane, and by expanding the range of membership functions. Also, two rotation angles .theta. $_{1}$ and .theta. $_{2}$ are selected for the linearizable region and the nonlinear one of the system, respectively. Here, .theta. $_{1}$ is chosen by the pole assignment method, and .theta. $_{2}$ by a performance index. Fuzzy inference is applied to the connection of two rotation angles .theta. $_{1}$ and .theta. $_{1}$ by regarding the distance from the desired equilibrium point as a variable of condition parts. The control effect is demonstrated by an application of the proposed method to one-machine infinite-bus power system.

  • A new improved excitation control system for power plant synchronous generators has been developed by KEPRI (Korea Electric Power Research Institute). The reliability of the excitation system is increased by designing a dual channel automatic voltage regulator(AVR). Also the performance of the excitation system is improved by Self-Tuning adaptive Controller. A software package is developed for the excitation control system, and a field test is conducted to verify the system performance.

  • The purpose of this paper is characteristic analysis of permanent magnet generator (PMG) for automatic voltage regulator (AVR)power of brush less synchronous generator. However, this PMG has a spoke type permanent magnet rotor with large overhang for high power density, characteristic analysis considering concentration effect of air-gap flux density due to the overhang should be performed. 30 transient finite element method (FEM)analysis is good solution for overhang parameter, but this method needs too much calculation time. In this paper, we examined the overhang effects based on overhang length and material of rotor core by using 20 and 30 static FEM analysis, and proposed 20 dynamic FEA model considering overhang parameter which gives good and rapid results. The proposed method is verified by the test results of no load, load and short circuit test.

  • Recently according to the increasing critical loads such as communication and life support systems stable power supplying becomes more and more important. Therefore it is indespensable to stabilize power source using these instruments - AVR(Automatic Voltage Regulator) or UPS(Uninterrutible Power Supply). This paper deals with ON-LNE UPS which is composed of PWM converter for AC-DC conversion. Using a PWM converter have advantages of low current harmonics and high power factor. In this paper ON-LNE UPS using PWM converter is proposed and its characteristics are investigated.

  • The welding technology has been used in almost all industries such as automotive, shipbuilding, power plants and industrial machinery. In this study, the design and implementation of PLC $CO_2$ welding automation system were investigated. For these purposes, the structure analysis for driving supporter was performed and specification of automatic voltage regulator, mutual interface of system and circuit diagram were designed in order to contrive power-saving system. As the results, the stability of design for driving supporter could be convinced by numerical analysis and PLC automatic welding system was suitable for welding automation of structural-manufacturing factory capable of producing various and small amount products. Therefore, it was confirmed that PLC $CO_2$ welding automation system could contribute to productivity, stable quality and power-saving.

  • A study is a experiment which is figure out to optimum discharge cutting condition of the surface roughness, electronic discharging speed and electrode wear ration with Ton , Toff and V(voltage) as an input condition according to the current(Ip) in an electric spark machine : 1) Electrode is utilized Cu and Graphite. 2) Work piece is used the material of carbon steel. The condition of experiment is : 1) Current is varied 0.7(A) to 50(A) and the time of electric discharging to work piece in each time is 30(min) to 60(min). 2) After the upper side of work piece was measured in radius(5$\mu$m) of stylus analyzed the surface roughness to ade the table and graph of Rmax by yielding data. 3) Electro wear ratio is : \circled1Cooper was measured ex-machining and post-machining by the electronic balance. \circled2The ex-machining of graphite measured by it, the post-machining was found the data from volume $\times$specific gravity and analyzed to made its table and graph on ground the data. 4) In order to keep the accuracy of voltage affected to the work piece was equipped with the A.V. R and the memory scope was sticked to the electric spark machine. 5) In order to preserve the precision of current, to get rid of the noise occured by internal resistance of electric spark machine and to force injecting for the discharge fluid , it made the fixed table for a work piece to minimize the work error by means of one's failure during the electric discharging.
