Automatic Color Recognition System for Stockigt Sizing Test (II) - Application of the automatic recognition principle of red coloration for developing the novel automatic system - (스테키히트 시험용 자동발색인지 시스템 개발을 위한 기초 연구(II) -자동 발색 인지 원리를 적용한 발색 자동인지시스템-)

  • Stockigt sizing test, which is readily affected by individual tester's bias as well as testing conditions in recognizing red coloration, had to be modified to improve its reliability and reproducibility. The novel testing system with the automatic recognizing program of red coloration was developed with the auxiliary equipments including an automatic liquid dispenser and a specimen shifter. The analysis program used a hue value of a droplet image in recognizing a point of time on red coloration instead of RGB values that are not similar to human perception of color. Hue was more sensitive in recognizing the red coloration of a droplet than the other two factors, Saturation and Value. During the test, the program records the time consumed up to a specific hue value of a droplet on a specimen. Differently from the conventional test, the automatic test could obtain a reliable and reproducible sizing degree with a minor error. Furthermore, the Stockigt sizing degree measured by the automatic system showed great correlations with contact angle and Hercules sizing degree. It means that such great correlations will contribute to the development of an integrated measuring system capable of predicting contact angle, surface tension, surface energy and Hercules sizing degree of paper and paperboards through the Stbckigt sizing test. It was meaningful to note that the automatic system for Stbckigt sizing test might be able to used to predict contact angle, Hercules and Cobb sizing degree, based upon the high correlation coefficients.

  • For the integration test in the current field of defense simulation, each actual equipment and simulator's logging information is automated. Although the event of the integrated test system is written in the test log, it is not automated, and relies on the operator's handwriting or file creation, resulting in ineffective aspects such as low-quality record content and repetition of the same content. In this study, we propose the automatic test report recording program that solves these problems. Automatic test report recording program uses framework-based technology to receive information from the test control computer and user to record a log of the test log. Automatic test report recording program allows the user to record the repeated test content in a stable manner. Additionally, even if the number of test operators is limited, the efficiency is improved so that we can fucus on the integration test.

  • Polishing a die that has free-form surfaces is a time-consuming and tedious job, and requires a considerable amount of high-precision skill. Some workers tend to gradually avoid the polishing work because of the poor environment caused by dust and noise. In order to reduce the polishing time and cope with the shortage of skilled workers, a user-friendly automatic polishing system was developed in this research. The polishing system with five degrees of freedom is able to keep the polishing tool normal to the die surface. The polishing system is controlled by a PC-NC controller. To easily operate the developed polishing robot system, this study developed an integrated program in the Windows environment. This program consists of four modules: the polishing module, the graphic simulator, the polishing data generation module, and the teaching module. Also, the automatic teaching system was developed to easily obtain teaching data and it consists of a three dimensional joystick and a proximity sensor. The joystick is used to simultaneously drive the polishing system to an arbitrary orientation and the proximity sensor is used to obtain teaching points precisely. Also, to evaluate the stability of the driving program and the teaching system, polishing experiments of a die of saddle shape were carried out.

  • We developed a new program for automatic continuum normalization of Echelle spectrographic data. Using this algorithm, we have determined spectral continuum of almost BOES data. The first advantage of this algorithm is that we can save much time for continuum determination and normalization. The second advantage is that the result of this algorithm is very reliable for almost spectral type of spectrum. But this algorithm cannot be applied directly to the spectrum which has very strong and broad emission lines, for example Wolf-Rayet type spectrum. We implanted this algorithm to the program which was developed in the previous study. And we introduced more upgraded BOES data reduction program. This program has more convenient graphical user interface environment, so users can easily reduce BOES data. Lastly, we presented the result of study on line profile variation of magnetic Ap/Bp stars analyzed using this program.

  • In this paper, arm-type lifting mechanism which is attached under the frame of truck is analyzed. The three types of motions which are divided into rotation, pure lifting and automatic tilting motions are analyzed kinematically. These motions are visualized by computer graphics using Visual Basic. This program will be used for designer to demonstrate the arm-type lifting mechanism before making real machines. Also this program can change design parameter interactively.

  • In this study, we fill a person's shoes human knowledge use a computer fast and simple repetition in architecture design. this study are launched from a assumption that a optimized arrangement spaces are able to measure and gauge. but automatic space arrangement program is first step, we have a value that propose a differential cell space and valuation space and process of optimized space arrangement. the merits of this design process are as follows; 1. this program has a advantage high the building-to-land ratio land and business area in space design. 2.this program can design a economy building and calculate rent benefit and calculate cost of construction. 3. this program can adapt for digital GIS. this program can down cost in labor productivity. 5. a layman can design high level. the weak point of this design process are as follows; 1. the design product is simple box shape. 2. this program has a weak in large area and complicated land shape 3. complex use space design are difficult in this program.

  • Purpose: ACR (American College of Radiology) offers variable parameters to PET/CT quality control by using ACR Phantom. ACR Phantom was made to evaluate parameters which are uniformity, attenuation, scatter, contrast and resolution. Manual analysis method wasn't good for the use of QC because values of parameter were changed as it may user and it takes long time to analysis. Ki-Chun Lim, a nuclear scientist in AMC, developed program that automatically analysis values of parameter by using ACR Phantom to overcome above problems. In this study, we evaluated automatic analysis program's usability, through the comparing SUV of each method, reproducibility of SUV when repeated analysis and the time required. Materials and Methods: Using Flangeless Esser PET Phantom, the ideal ratio of 4 : 1 hot cylinder and BKG but it actually showed a ratio of 3.89 to 1 hot cylinder and BKG. SIEMENS Biograph True Point 40 was used in this study. We obtained images using ACR phantom at Fusion WB PET Scan condition (2 min/bed) and 120 kV, 100 mAs CT condition. Using True X method, 3 iterations, 14 subsets, Gaussian filter, FWHM 4 mm and Zoom Factor 1.0, $168{\times}168$ image size. We obtained Max. & Min. SUV and SUV Mean values at Cylinder (8, 12, 16, 25 mm, Air, Bone, Water, BKG) by automatic program and obtained SUV by manual method. After that, we compared manual and automatic method. we estimate the time required from opened the image data to final work sheet was completed. Results: Automatic program always showed same result and same the time required. At 8, 12, 16 and 25 m cylinder, manual method showed 6.69, 3.46, 2.59, 1.24 CV values. The larger cylinder size became, the smaller CV became. In manual method, bone, air, water's CV were over 9.9 except BKG (2.32). Obtained CV of Mean SUV showed BKG was low (0.85) and bone was high (7.52). The time required was 45 second, 882 second respectably. Conclusions: As a result of difference automatic method and manual method, automatic method showed always same result, manual method showed that the smaller hot cylinders became, the lager CV became. Hot cylinders mean region size, the smaller hot cylinder size becomes we had some trouble in doing ROI poison setting. And it means increase in variation of SUV. The Study showed the time required of automatic method was shorten then manual method.

  • In this study, we develop automatic design program, which create 3D model of spur gear and helical gear used VisuaILISP and create helical gear in the CATIA using 2D profile of gear. This model become the standard model, which give not only in itself mold information but also computer processed product with measuring date. Spur gear require mathematical examination of involute curve and trocoidal fillet curve. Automatic design program, which have a mathematical development create the profile of spur gear.

  • This paper discusses the development of semi-automatic search program for crown delineation in stand level. The crown of an individual tree was delineated by applying the Watershed (WS) and Valley Following (VF) algorithms. Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) images were used in the semi-automatic search program to delineate the crown area. The overall accuracy and Khat were used in accuracy assessment. WS algorithm's model showed the overall accuracy and Khat index of 0.80 and 0.59, respectively, in Plot 1. However, the overall accuracy and Khat of VF algorithm's model were 0.78 and 0.51, respectively, in Plot 2.

  • This paper is concerned with the program of the automatic mesh generation for 2-dimensional domain which contains the curved boundaries and holes. This program treats a new vertical - line drawing method. This method starts with 4-subdivisions of problem domain and the classification of the cross points of grid lines and boundaries. And the new node is generated by the vertical line to the line connecting the two intersections of a boundary and two grid lines in general. The boundaries are piecewise-curves composed of lines, circles, arcs, and free curves. The free curves are generated by B-Spline form. Although there were some bad elements for the complex boundary, it was possible to obtain the acceptable elements for the given boundaries. The results of automatic mesh generation can be verified directly by drawing on the computer monitor in executing the program. And it is possible to add the processes - that is, editing, hard copying, etc - using the script file in Auto-CAD.
