  • In this paper, we propose a formula to compute the exact autocorrelations of the autoregressive (AR) process. For an arbitrary value of N, we first review the Yule-Walker equation and some basic properties of the AR model. We then modify the Yule-Walker equation to construct a new system of N+1 linear equations that can be used to solve for the N+1 autocorrelation coefficients for lags 0, 1, …, N, provided that the AR parameters of order N and the power of the white noise of the AR process are given.

  • In this paper, a method that apply LP algorithm to image for speech recognition is suggested, using both speech and image information for recogniton of korean numeral speech. The input speech signal is pre-emphasized with parameter value 0.95, analyzed for B th LP coefficients using Hamming window, autocorrelation and Levinson-Durbin algorithm. Also, a gray image signal is analyzed for 2-dimensional LP coefficients using autocorrelation and Levinson-Durbin algorithm like speech. These parameters are used for input parameters of neural network using back-propagation algorithm. The recognition experiment was carried out at each noise level, three numeral speechs, '3','5', and '9' were enhanced. Thus, in case of recognizing speech with 2-dimensional LP parameters, it results in a high recognition rate, a low parameter size, and a simple algorithm with no additional feature extraction algorithm.

  • In the global system for the mobile communication (GSM) system, the class of training sequences used in a TDMA frame is a preamble sequence with a period of 16 bits for the channel impulse response measurement and the start up equalization during the training period. If the transmitted preamble sequence and the binary sequence in the receiver properly satisfy a condition, this training sequences used for fastly adjusting the tap coefficients and impulse response can be measured by calculating the crosscorrelation function. In this paper, it is used that training sequences have zero values of the autocorrelation at all delays except zero and middle shifts. A comparison of convergence rate, a mathematical approach for fast start-up equalization and correctly channel impulse response measurement are proposed.

  • Using the storm data which was augmented by the stochastic correlation with it's neighbors, the multiquadric equation of random surface of total storm depth is constructed. And to separate the local components from it's regionals and find the regional characteristics, a double Fourier analysis was applied to the total depths of storm data. The local components, storm residuals of each storm was assumed to be homogeneous random field and investigated with it's autocorrelation function. For the practical application, isotropic was assumed and that was identified with emprical data. Coefficients of normalized autocorrelation for all storms showed similar apperance. Using this emprical result, an example of the radial spectral distribution function which represints the spatial characteristics of rainfall over Han River Basin during 1975-1983 is presented.

  • This paper proposed the content-based method of classifying filthy Phornographic video, which causes a big problem of modern society as the reverse function of internet. Audio data was used to extract the features from Phornographic video. There are frequency spectrum, autocorrelation, and MFCC as the feature of audio used in this paper. The sound that could be filthy contents was extracted, and the Phornographic was classified by measuring how much percentage of relevant sound was corresponding with the whole audio of video. For the experiment on the proposed method, The efficiency of classifying Phornographic was measured on each feature, and the measured result and comparison with using multi features were performed. I can obtain the better result than when only one feature of audio was extracted, and used.

  • Whereas it is well known that the surface roughness parameters, the RMS height and the correlation length, of a natural soil surface are underestimated with a short surface profile, it is not clear how much the underestimated surface parameters affect the backscattering coefficients of the surface for various incidence angles and polarizations. The backscattering coefficients of simulated and measured surface profiles are computed using the integral equation method (IEM) and analyzed in this paper to answer this question. It is shown that the RMS error of the backscattering coefficients between 5-m- and 1-m-long measured surface profiles is 1.7 dB for vv-polarization and 0.5 dB for hh-polarization at a medium range of incidence angle ($15^{\circ}{\leq}{\theta}{\leq}70^{\circ}$), while the surface roughness parameters are significantly reduced; from 2.4 cm to 1.5 cm for the RMS height s and from 35.1 cm to 10.0 cm for the autocorrelation length l. This result is verified with numerous simulations with various roughness conditions and various wavelengths.

  • This research measured and visualized the spatial dependency and the spatial heterogeneity of the small business in Cheonan-si, Asan-si with $100m{\times}100m$ grids based on global and local spatial autocorrelation. First, we confirmed positive spatial autocorrelation of small business in the research area using Moran's I Index, which is ESDA(Exploratory Spatial Data Analysis). And then, through Getis-Ord $GI{\ast}$, one kind of LISA(Local Indicators of Spatial Association), local patterns of spatial autocorrelation were visualized. These verified that Spatial Regression Model is valid for the location factor analysis on small business commercial buildings. Next, GWR(Geographically Weighted Regression) was used to analyze the spatial relations between the distribution of small business, hourly mobile traffic-based floating population, land use attributes index, residence, commercial building, road networks, and the node of traffic networks. Final six variables were applied and the accessibility to bus stops, afternoon time floating population, and evening time floating population were excluded due to multicollinearity. By this, we demonstrated that GWR is statistically improved compared to OLS. We visualized the spatial influence of the individual variables using the regression coefficients and local coefficients of determinant of the six variables. This research applied the measured population information in a practical way. Reflecting the dynamic information of the urban people using the commercial area. It is different from other studies that performed commercial analysis. Finally, this research has a differentiated advantage over the existing commercial area analysis in that it employed hourly changing commercial service population data and it applied spatial statistical models to micro spatial units. This research proposed new framework for the commercial analysis area analysis.

  • The stochastic characteristics of the daily range of water temperature variation was analyzed by employing the techniques of autocorrelation coefficient, autoreggresive model and crosscorrelation model. These time series included daily observations on maximum and minimum values of water temperature and air temperature. The measurement was made by automatic recording instrument at Gu-yee and Dook-do in Han River, and at Waegwan and Gu-mi in Nackdong River in 1981. As a result of this study, it was found that (1) The correlogram of daily water temperature ranges $\Delta AT_i$ and daily air temperature $\Delta AT_i$ at Gu-mi and Gu-yee showed the exponential curves. (2) The most high frequency values of $\Delta AT_i$ and $\Delta WT_i$ were 11$\circ$C and 0.5${\circ}C$ respectively at every measuring site. (3) The correlation coefficients between the daily mean air temperature AT$_i$ and the daily mean water temperature were fairly high as 0.966 at Dook-do and 0.949 at Gu-yee, but the correlation coefficients between $\Delta AT_i$ and $\Delta WT_i$ were very low as 0.1074 at Gu-yee and 0.0324 at Dook-Do.

  • The pitch predictor is one of the most important part for the robust tree coder. The hybrid backward pitch adapation which is a combination of a block adaptation and a recursive adaptation is used for the pitch predictor. In order to improve the error performance and track the pitch period change of the input speech, it is proposed to smooth the input of the pitch predictor. The smoother with three taps can have fixed coefficients or variable coefficients depending on the estimated autocorrelation function of the output of the pitch synthesizer. The inclusion of a variable smoother can track the pitch period change within a block and reduce the effect of channel errors.
