Auto-Landing Guidance System Design for Smart UAV

  • This paper deals with auto-landing guidance system design applicable to Smart UAV(Unmanned Aerial Vehicle). The proposed guidance law generates horizontal position, velocity and altitude commands in the longitudinal channel and heading angle command in the lateral channel to track a predetermined trajectory for automatic landing. The longitudinal guidance commands are derived from an approximated dynamic equations in vertical plane. These longitudinal guidance commands are appropriately distributed to each control input as the flight mode of Smart UAV is changed. The concept of VOR(VHF Omni-directional Range) guidance system is applied to generate the required heading angle commands to eliminate the lateral deviation from the desired trajectory. The performance of the proposed guidance system for Smart UAV is evaluated using the nonlinear simulation. Simulation results show that the proposed guidance system for auto- landing provides good tracking performance along the predetermined landing trajectory.

AIS 기반 관제의 문제점 보완 및 모니터 화면 개선을 통한 관제향상 방안

  • 기존 RADAR 기반의 VTS에 AIS를 연계 집약하면서 예측 불가능한 데이터 전송률에도 동일선박으로부터의 AIS 및 RADAR 데이터는 상관관계를 유지하면서 물표에 대한 Tracking이 지속적으로 이루어져야 하지만 AIS 신호 Lost시 RADAR Tracking 자동 전환이 안 되는 경우가 많이 발생하고 있다. 또한 3개의 VTS 모니터 화면에 각각 다른 Scale과 다른 관제구역이 디스플레이 됨으로써 특히 모니터 가장자리 부근의 관제구역은 사각지대로 관제사의 집중도가 떨어질 수밖에 없다. 이러한 문제점들은 관제사의 Traffic Image구성 및 Situational Awareness를 방해하는 요소로 작용하며 사고의 개연성을 높이고 있다. 본 연구에서는 VTS 모니터상의 화면 재구성 방법을 통해서 관제사의 SA를 돕고, AIS-RADAR Tracking 알고리즘 보완을 통한 Target Tracking의 안정성을 확보하고, 교육 훈련을 통해서 AIS특성과 Error현상에 대한 관제사들이 충분히 이해하도록 하여 관제업무의 향상을 기하는 방안을 제시하였다.

자율 주행 헬리콥터의 위치 추종 제어를 위한 LQR 제어 및 신경회로망 보상 방식 (Position Tracking Control of an Autonomous Helicopter by an LQR with Neural Network Compensation)

  • In this paper, position tracking control of an autonomous helicopter is presented. Combining an LQR method and a proportional control forms a simple PD control. Since LQR control gains are set for the velocity control of the helicopter, a position tracking error occurs. To minimize a position tracking error, neural network is introduced. Specially, in the frame of the reference compensation technique for teaming neural network compensator, a position tracking error of an autonomous helicopter can be compensated by neural network installed in the remotely located ground station. Considering time delay between an auto-helicopter and the ground station, simulation studies have been conducted. Simulation results show that the LQR with neural network performs better than that of LQR itself.

  • Auto Guided Vehicle (AGV) equipped with mecanum wheels can move in all directions, unlike ordinary wheeled AGVs. In this paper, we propose a robust trejectory tracking control method for the mecanum wheeled AGVs in the presence of disturbances. It is constructed by combining impedance control with Integral Sliding Mode Control (ISMC), which shows robust performance against disturbances, and adding a disturbance observer (DOB) that estimates and removes disturbances. Simulation result using MATLAB/SIMULINK shows that the proposed control method has robust performance in tracking the reference trajectory under the circumstance with disturbance. The control performance is further improved when the disturbance observer is additionally used. In addition, the performance of the proposed control method was verified through experiment. It shows the result of tracking the set trajectory well.

Real-time Auto Tracking System using PTZ Camera with DSP

  • In this paper we proposed a PTZ camera system which automatically detect and track moving objects in the image. Once a moving object is detected the PTZ camera traces it in real-time. We proposed the control system which does not depend on camera focusing functionality but uses the object's center, moving direction, distance and speed. We implemented the system with the TI DM6446 DSP chip. The experimental result shows that the system has excellent performance for high speed vehicles.

  • This paper reports the design procedure and testing result of a servo driven pan/tilt device which is capable of tracking arbitrary movement of a specified target object. In order to achieve real-time acquisition of feedback signal, a 2 degrees-of-freedom non-contact type displacement follower is used. The performance of the system is tested for different target velocities and control gains. The result of the research may provide an effective tool for visual transfer in the context of teleoperation.

  • There has been many activity to increase accuracy in machining center by reducing tracking error. The tracking error can cause bad effect in high speed rigid tapping in which syncronization servo motor with spindle is relatively important. To reduce tracking error, feed forward control has been used, but no method is provided knowing motor dynamics, force variation, etc. In this paper, we observe that, despite of tracking error of relevant axis, high speed tapping could be possible by reducing contour error of axis to be syncronized. We present the method to increase accuracy in high speed tapping to minimize contour error by automatically fitting gains of servo and spindle.

  • Theoretical IPMSM control technique is complicated, and reliability is low because of the changing parameters. Further, in case of general look-up table designing method which obtains torque characteristics (according to current and speed) or torque characteristics (according to magnetic flux through the entire control region), obtaining a precise result can be difficult and has the disadvantage taking too much time to establish a current look-up table. In this paper, the new auto maximum torque point tracking (MTPT) algorithm that automatically finds the optimum stator d - q axis electric current reference through the entire speed region is devised; consequently, it could establish a 3D look-up table with torque characteristics according to current and speed. In case of using the devised auto MTPT algorithm, the result value detailed was obtained in comparison with the generalized look-up design technique, and checked to reduce the current look-up table establishment time.

Pseudo-Correlation-Function Based Unambiguous Tracking Technique for CBOC (6,1,1/11) Signals

  • Binary Offset Carrier (BOC) signal planned for future Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) provided better positioning accuracy and smaller multipath error than GPS C/A signal. However, due to the multiple side peaks in the auto-correlation function (ACF) of the BOC modulated signals, a receiver may false lock onto one of the side peaks in the tracking mode. This false lock would then result in a fatal tracking error. In this paper, we propose an unambiguous tracking method for composite BOC (CBOC) signals to mitigate this problem. It aims to reduce the side peaks of the ACF of CBOC modulated signals. It is based on the combination of traditional CBOC correlation function (CF) and reference CF of unmodulated pseudo- random noise code (PRN code). First, we present that cross-correlation function (CCF) with unmodulated PRN code is close to the secondary peaks of the traditional CBOC. Then, we obtain an unambiguous correlation function by subtracting traditional CBOC ACF from these CFs. Finally, the tracking performance for the CBOC signals is examined, and it is shown that the proposed method has better performance than the traditional unambiguous tracking method in additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel.

  • 천체의 장시간 노출을 위한 망원경 자동추적장치는 CCD 카메라의 성상 관측결과를 피드백하여 제어한다. 그러나 대기 시상효과에 의해 성상 관측의 정확도가 변하면 제어의 정확도도 달라진다. 본 연구에서는 제어공학에서 사용하는 이산시간 동적 이론을 적용하여 자동추적장치의 효율을 극대화 할 수 있는 이론을 개발하였다. 망원경의 추적장치에 기계적인 오차가 있는 경우, CCD 카메라의 성상 관측결과에 나타나는 대기시상 효과를 구체적으로 모델링한 후, 제안된 성능지표에 주는 영향을 수식적으로 유도하고 분석하였다. 그리고 기계적인 오차와 대기시상 값의 이론적인 상관관계를 실제 관측 실험을 수행하여 검증하였다.
