홍채 영상 초점 값에 기반한 홍채 영상 복원 연구 (A Study on Iris Image Restoration Based on Focus Value of Iris Image)

  • 홍채 인식은 흥채 근육의 무의 패턴을 이용하여 동일인 여부를 판별하는 연구 분야이다. 이러한 홍채 인식에서 홍채 영상의 품질은 홍채 인식의 성능에 많은 영향을 준다. 이는 흥채 영상이 흐려지면, 홍채 패턴이 변형되어지므로, FRR(False Rejection Error)이 증가되기 때문이다. 홍채 영상을 흐려지게 만드는 주된 요인 가운데 하나가 카메라 렌즈의 초점(focus)이다. 기존의 흥채 인식 카메라는 고정 초점(fixed focusing) 방식과 가변 초점(auto-focusing) 방식이 있다. 고정 초점 방식은 초점 렌즈가 고정되어 있기 때문에 사용자가 직접 자신의 눈을 DOF(Depth of Field) 영역 안에 위치시켜야하고, DOF 영역이 매우 작은 한계가 있다. 가변 초점 방식은 사용자와 카메라 사이의 거리를 측정하여 초점이 잘 맞는 위치로 초점렌즈를 움직여서 선명한 영상을 취득한다. 하지만 부가적인 하드웨어 장비가 필요하기 때문에 카메라의 부피가 늘어나고 비용도 증가되므로 개인 인증을 위해 홍채인식을 하는 핸드폰과 같은 모바일 장비에서 사용되는데 어려움이 따른다. 따라서 본 논문은 이러한 기존의 홍채인식 카메라의 문제점들을 극복하기 위해 부가적인 하드웨어 장비 없이 고정 초점 방식 카메라에서 취득한 홍채 영상을 복원함으로써 소프트웨어적으로 DOF영역을 증가시키는 방법을 제안한다. 기존의 영상 복원 알고리즘은 반복적(iterative) 방법에 의해 최상의 복원 계수(parameter)를 검출하여 영상을 복원하였으나, 본 논문은 초점값을 이용하여 영상의 흐려짐의 정도를 판단하고, 흐려짐의 정도에 따라 미리 정의한 복원 계수를 선택함으로써 빠른 시간 안에 홍채 영상을 복원하는 방법을 제안한다. 실험 결과, Panasonic에서 만든 BM-ET100 카메라의 작동범위(Operation Range)를 48-53cm에서 46-56cm로 증가시킬 수 있었다.

  • Optical performance evaluation results and an interference fringe pattern analysis of alignment errors for an optical head of a near-field receding (NFR) system are presented. The focusing unit is an optical head of a NFR system and is composed of a solid immersion lens (SIL) and an objective lens (OL). Generally, the size of the focusing unit is smaller than that of the conventional optical recording head. Hence there are difficulties to assemble the small focusing unit precisely. We composed an evaluation system with an interferometer and evaluated some focusing unit samples aligned and assembled by manual and present the obtained results. Using the conventional optical tool, Code V, a tolerance analysis of the alignment error between the SIL and the objective lens and an interference pattern analysis for the assembly error are executed. Then, through an analysis of the simulation results, the conceptual auto-alignment methodology using a neural network approach is considered.

Kano-SERVQUAL 통합 접근법을 이용한 자동차 서비스 품질에 대한 고객인식 연구 - H사(社)의 자동차 서비스를 중심으로 - (Customer perception of auto service quality using Kano-SERVQUAL integrated approach - Focusing on the auto service of 'H' company -)

  • Purpose: This study aims to propose Kano-SERVQUAL integrated approach as an effective tool for evaluating auto service quality attributes to enhance the use of SERVQUAL. Methods: The Kano-SERVQUAL survey was conducted to evaluate customer perception for 28 auto service quality attributes which were obtained from auto service expert in 'H' company. The correlation analysis of SI(Satisfaction Index), DI(Dissatisfaction Index) and expectation values are conducted in this study. Results: The 28 auto service quality attributes are classified into attractive attributes and one-dimensional attributes. The results of this study show that the correlations between the customers' expectation values and DI is strongly positive correlation with 1% significance level, expectation values and SI is negative correlation with 10% significance level. Conclusion: The results show that the purposed Kano-SERVQUAL integrated approach provides a deeper understanding of service quality attributes in that it distinguishes the customers' expectation values between highly expected attributes(e.g. must-be attribute) and less expected attributes(e.g. attractive attribute).

  • This paper proposes the multiple objects focusing algorithm. Given multiple objects at different distances from a camera, we assume that one object is well-focused and the others are out-of-focused. The proposed auto-focusing algorithm is summarized as follows: (i) detects edges from an input image, (ⅱ) estimates the radius of PSF (Point Spread Function) across the edge, (ⅲ) gather edge points having same radius of PSF, (ⅳ) segments the image into regions with the same radius of PSF, and (ⅴ) restores the each segmented region using the corresponding PSF.

  • 본 논문에서는 입체 카메라의 자동 초점 제어에 필요한 제어 변수 추출 방법을 제안한다. 일반적으로 카메라로 획득한 입체 영상에서 관심 있는 피사체가 영상의 중심부에 있다고 가정을 한다. 이 경우에 획득된 영상에서 특정한 크기의 중심 영역에 대해서만 2D 웨이블릿 변환을 한다. 변환을 거친 신호 중에서 고역 성분 (HH)에 대한 Ll Norm을 이용하여 필요한 초점제어 변수를 추출한다. 실험결과를 통해 제안된 방식이 기존의 DCT를 이용한 방식에 비해 입체카메라의 자동 초점 제어에 효과적으로 적용될 수 있음을 보인다.

자동 초점 기법을 이용한 유리 내부 결함 검출 (The Detection of the Internal Defect in the Glass Using Auto Focusing Method)

  • Internal defects in the glass, like-as micro-voids, micro-cracks, or inclusions, easily cause the failure when the glass is exposed to the shock or the thermal variation. In order to produce the highly reliable glass product, the precision inspection of the defect in the glass is required. For this purpose, this paper proposes a machine vision technique based on the auto-focusing method, which searches the defect and measures the location under the fact that the edge image of defect must be the most clear when the focal plane of CCD camera is coincided with the defect. As for the search index, the gradient indicator is presented. The basic principles are verified through the simulations for the computer-generated defect images, where the affects of defect shape, gray level of background, and the brightness of the defect image are also analyzed. Finally, experimental results for actual glass specimens are shown to confirm the applicability of this method to the actual field.

  • This work deals with a controlled auto-ignition (CAI) single cylinder gasoline engine, focusing on the extension of operating conditions. In order to keep a homogeneous air-fuel mixing, the fuel injector is water-cooled by a specially designed coolant passage. Investigated are the engine emission characteristics under the wide range of operating conditions such as 40 in the air-fuel ratio, 1000 to 1800 rpm in the engine speed, $150\;to\;180^{\circ}C$ in the inlet-air temperature, and $80^{\circ}$ BTDC to $20^{\circ}$ ATDC in the injection timing. A controlled auto-ignition gasoline engine which has the ultra lean-burn with self-ignition of gasoline fuel can be achieved by heating inlet air. It can be achieved that the emission concentrations of carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons and nitrogen oxides had been significantly reduced by CAI combustion compared with conventional spark ignition engine.

The fuel is injected indirectly into electrically heated inlet air flow. In order to keep a homogeneous air-fuel mixing, the fuel injector is cooled by the water of a specially designed coolant passage. The engine emission characteristics were investigated under the wide range of operating conditions such as 32 to 63 in the air-fuel ratio, 1000 to 1800 rpm in the engine speed, and 150 to $180^{\circ}C$ in the inlet air temperature. The ultra lean-burn can be achieved by the auto-ignition of gasoline fuel due to the heated inlet air in the compression ignition gasoline engine. It is confirmed that the emission concentrations of carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons and nitrogen oxide can be significantly reduced by CAI combustion compared with the combustion of a conventional spark ignition engine.
