An XMT Authoring System supporting Multiple Presentation Environments (다양한 재생 환경을 지원하는 XMT 저작 시스템)

  • The XMT standard is MPEG-4 Scene Description of textual format. It can be utilized to edit the audio/video media for broadcasting and develop the user oriented media contents. This paper proposes XMT authoring system that supports exchange among contents in various presentation environment. The XMT authoring system creates two levels of textual syntax and semantics: XMT-$\alpha$ format and XMT-$\Omega$ format. Because XMT-$\alpha$ and XMT-$\Omega$ have different expression method about an object, the authoring tool offers interface for them. the authoring tool offers interface for them. Also, it defines interior data structure that can support two file formats, and offers the function that transforms XMT-$\alpha$ into BIFS and transforms XMT-$\Omega$ into SMIL or XMT-$\alpha$. It offers interoperability among multimedia data in various environment that is XMT's characteristic.

  • There is little study related to the 3D convergence contents authoring tool for teacher. In this study, we purposed the design of the interactive 3D convergence contents authoring tool for a teacher. To draw the design, firstly, we investigated the authoring environment of teachers and interviewed teachers. Based on this investigations, we proposed the functional requirement and UI/UX(User Interface/User Experience) design of it. And we investigated the level of focusing group satisfication with the UI/UX design. Based on these results, we will implement the authoring tool.

Implementation of Android-based Interactive Edutainment Contents Using Authoring Tool Developed for Interactive Animation

  • In this paper, we developed an interactive animation authoring tool and developed the Android based interactive edutainment contents. The authoring tool for creating interactive animations developed in this paper is based on a graphical user interface, so users can easily create interactive animations. Interactive animation contents created by this authoring tool can be created as images and xml files so that they can be used directly on mobile devices. In order to increase learning efficiency for children, Android-based interactive edutainment electronic storybooks, which is implemented using this authoring tool, provided a recording function to listen to the parents' voice as well as an interactive action in which the characters move in accordance with the story line. We also provided a STEAM game that combines creativity and imagination with creative science and technology. Therefore, by creating the edutainment contents through the proposed authoring tool for interactive animation, various interactive animation contents could be produced more easily than the code implementation method. Through this study, I hope that it will be helpful for the development of various interactive edutainment contents to provide educational contents considering the quantity and quality to infants.

  • Though BIFS is a complex description language that represents MPEG-4 content as text or bit streams, most traditional MPEG-4 content authoring tools are developed for a BIFS expert. Before using these tools, many authors must invest much time and energy in acquiring knowledge of BIFS. In this paper, we suggest a new manner for saving these efforts. Our proposal supplies the convenient user interface of traditional multimedia authoring tools for MPEG-4 authors and interprets the authored information and transforms it into BIFS. In our user interface, the author generates the minimal authoring information requested for generating BIFS; the BIFS generation module then transforms the information into BIFS format using predefined BIFS construction rules. The resulting BIFS consists of the Scene Tree and the Object Descriptor and Route; they are used for constructing MP4 standard files by mixing with the Elementary Stream.

  • The web technology related with internet at present is changed into the 3D interactive environment form one sided communication of simple contents. In this paper, a high quality interactive Web3D Contents was realized by using the TurnTool, a authoring tool. This paper suggests the method that can easily and quickly realize the Web3D manual which is more realistic md capable of interaction with user. This method makes up for the weak points in the existing Web3D tool system. Therefore we can realize the contents that able to easily interact through minimizing file size md omitting procedure of additional EAI(External Authoring Interface) by using the Java Script.

  • This thesis is about the design and implementation of the system for controlling Avatar, user's alter ego in a simulated world using the EAI(External Authoring Interface) technology to be able to control VRML(Virtual Reality Modeling Language). In this thesis, user's Avatar described in VRML language embodied interactions to move and show an expression by JAVA according to a user's demand. In the future, this would be able to develop into a research to try to embody and construct a simulated society based on web for the purpose of various integration of society such as cyber government, lecture, trial performance, and auction.

  • In this paper, we propose layout based multimodal contents authoring tool for Digilog Book. In authoring step, users create a virtual area using mouse or pen-type device and select property of the area repetitively. After finishing authoring step, system recognizes printed page number and generate page layout including areas and property information. Page layout is represented as a scene graph and stored as XML format. Digilog Book viewer loads stored page layout and analyze properties then augment virtual contents or execute functions based on area. Users can author visual and auditory contents easily by using hybrid interface. In AR environment, system provides area templates in order to help creating area. In addition, proposed authoring tool separates page recognition module from page tracking module. So, it is possible to author many pages using only single marker. As a result of experiment, we showed proposed authoring tool has reasonable performance time in AR environment. We expect that proposed authoring tool would be applicable to many fields such as education and publication.

  • Multimedia services through a network are getting more required according to the realization of B-ISDN construction globally. Business using the Internet will become popular, and so multimedia information systems including telemarketing systems will be developed competitively. VR (Virtual Reality) will help such systems make more realistic and valuable. ln this paper, we present an interactive VR authoring tool and a client/server based multimedia information service system. The VR authoring tool serves an interface with the system when developing its applications.

  • 'Digilog Book' integrates advantages of existing paper book and immersive digital contents in augmented reality environment, which enables users to feel physical touch and get additional multisensory feedback. As a high level authoring user interface, 'ARtalet' provides an intuitive way to make Digilog Book through 3D user interface in augmented reality environment. This paper mentions trajectory inserting and editing methods of 3D objects, then combining method of the trajectory. 3D object is selected by camera tracked prop, and then transformation matrix relative to book plane is stored in real time based on timeframe. The saved trajectory is managed as templates, and user can make various compositions of trajectories. We expect that suggested methods can enhance interest of readers.

  • The design and implementation of the interaction for tangible user interfaces require in-depth knowledge in many different disciplines, such as device control, sensing and calibrating devices, interaction design, low-level programming, and performance tuning. Many trial and error iterations are needed to determine the proper combination of the interaction techniques while using available interaction devices and considering the characteristics of contents. As a result, it takes too much effort and time to achieve maximum usability. This paper introduces a tangible user-interface platform, which is fabricated using various hardware devices and an XML-based authoring tool, which is developed in order to relieve content creators of the burden of the above difficulties. Finally, we demonstrate our work by illustrating some example contents.
