  • In this study, a cavity shape measurement experiment was conducted by changing the diameter and the angle of attack of a disk cavitator. Since the gravity effect is proportional to the cavity volume, the larger the cavity, the greater the effect. It is concluded that the gravity effect becomes smaller as the cavitation number decreases because of a short cavity maintaining time. The cavity centerline rises in case of the positive angle of attack and descends in case of the negative angle of attack. Since the effect of the angle of attack is inversely proportional to the square of the cavity radius, the effect of the angle of attack becomes dominant in the vicinity of the cavitator. It is judged that the horizontal section of the cavity centerline cannot be extended because the factors affecting the gravity effect and the angle of attack effect are different.

  • Web technology is evolving with the passage of time, from a single node server to high availability and then in the form of Kubernetes. In recent years, the research community have been trying to provide high availability in the form of multi master cluster with a solid election algorithm. This is helpful in increasing the resources in the form of pods inside the worker node. There are new impact of known DDoS attack, which is utilizing the resources at its peak, known as Yoyo attack. It is kind of burst attack that can utilize CPU and memory to its limit and provide legit visitors with a bad experience. In this research, we tried to mitigate the Yoyo attack by introducing a firewall at load-balancer level to prevent the attack from going to the cluster network.

  • Recently, smartphone communications using Wi-Fi channel are increasing rapidly to provide diverse internet services. The WPA security protocol was used for data protection between user and wireless AP. However, WPA-PSK protocol was known to be weak to the dictionary attack. In this paper, we proposed a secure WPA-PSK protocol to resist the dictionary attack. Since the proposed method was designed to generate a strong encryption key which is combined the Diffie-Hellman key agreement scheme with secrecy property of PSK(Pre-Shared Key), we can protect the Wi-Fi channel from Man-In-The-Middle attack and Rogue AP impersonation attack.

  • Recently, the DDoS attack using the amplifier method makes it difficult to distinguish the normal traffic from the normal server and it is difficult to detect even the attack detection. Since the SSDP protocol is a common protocol widely used in IoT devices, it is used as a DDoS amplification attack. In this paper, we analyze the reflector attack of SSDP which is one of the DDoS and suggest a technical proposal to detect and defend against the attack by managing the Mac address of each device. Also, we propose a control structure to protect the reflection attack of SSDP in Home IoT. The efficiency of the proposed system has been verified by performing an experimental attack on the virtual environment.

  • Many biometrics-based user authentication schemes using smart cards have been proposed to improve the security weaknesses in user authentication system. In 2010, Chang et al. proposed an improved biometrics-based user authentication scheme without concurrency system which can withstand forgery attack, off-line password guessing attack, replay attack, etc. In this paper, we analyze the security weaknesses of Chang et al.'s scheme and we have shown that Chang et al.'s scheme is still insecure against man-in-the-middle attack, off-line biometrics guessing attack, and does not provide mutual authentication between the user and the server. And we proposed the improved scheme to overcome these security weaknesses, even if the secret information stored in the smart card is revealed. As a result, the proposed scheme is secure for the user authentication attack, the server masquerading attack, the man-in-the-middle attack, and the off-line biometrics guessing attack, does provide the mutual authentication between the user and the remote server. And, in terms of computational complexities, the proposed scheme is more effective than Chang et al.'s scheme.

  • FLUSH+RELOAD attack exposes the most serious security threat among cache side channel attacks due to its high resolution and low noise. This attack is exploited by a variety of malicious programs that attempt to leak sensitive information. In order to prevent such information leakage, it is necessary to detect FLUSH+RELOAD attack in real time. In this paper, we propose a novel run-time detection technique for FLUSH+RELOAD attack by utilizing PCM (Performance Counter Monitor) of processors. For this, we conducted four kinds of experiments to observe the variation of each counter value of PCM during the execution of the attack. As a result, we found that it is possible to detect the attack by exploiting three kinds of important factors. Then, we constructed a detection algorithm based on the experimental results. Our algorithm utilizes machine learning techniques including a logistic regression and ANN(Artificial Neural Network) to learn from different execution environments. Evaluation shows that the algorithm successfully detects all kinds of attacks with relatively low false rate.

  • In this paper, we analyze the feasibility of the IP spoofing attack exploiting null security algorithms in 5G networks based on 3GPP standard specifications. According to 3GPP standard specifications, the initial Registration Request message is not protected by encryption and integrity. The IP spoofing attack exploits the vulnerability that allows a malicious gNB (next generation Node B) to modify the contents of the initial Registration Request message of a victim UE (User Equipment) before forwarding it to AMF (Access and Mobility Management Function). If the attack succeeds, the victim UE is disconnected from the 5G network and a malicious UE gets Internet services, while the 5G operator will charge the victim UE. In this paper, we analyze the feasibility of the IP spoofing attack by analyzing whether each signaling message composing the attack conforms to the 3GPP Rel-17 standard specifications. As a result of the analysis, it is determined that the IP spoofing attack is not feasible in the 5G system implemented according to the 3GPP Rel-17 standard specifications.

  • The face recognition model is used for identity recognition of smartphones, providing convenience to many users. As a result, the security review of the DNN model is becoming important, with adversarial attacks present as a well-known vulnerability of the DNN model. Adversarial attacks have evolved to decision-based attack techniques that use only the recognition results of deep learning models to perform attacks. However, existing decision-based attack technique[14] have a problem that requires a large number of queries when generating adversarial examples. In particular, it takes a large number of queries to approximate the gradient. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a method of generating adversarial examples using orthogonal space sampling and dimensionality reduction sampling to avoid wasting queries that are consumed to approximate the gradient of existing decision-based attack technique[14]. Experiments show that our method can reduce the perturbation size of adversarial examples by about 2.4 compared to existing attack technique[14] and increase the attack success rate by 14% compared to existing attack technique[14]. Experimental results demonstrate that the adversarial example generation method proposed in this paper has superior attack performance.

  • Wireless sensors that make up the Wireless Sensor Network generally have extremely limited power and resources. The wireless sensor enters the sleep state at a certain interval to conserve power. The Sleep deflation attack is a deadly attack that consumes power by preventing wireless sensors from entering the sleep state, but there is no clear countermeasure. Thus, in this paper, using clustering-based binary search tree structure, the Sleep deprivation attack detection model is proposed. The model proposed in this paper utilizes one of the characteristics of both attack sensor nodes and normal sensor nodes which were classified using machine learning. The characteristics used for detection were determined using Long Short-Term Memory, Decision Tree, Support Vector Machine, and K-Nearest Neighbor. Thresholds for judging attack sensor nodes were then learned by applying the SVM. The determined features were used in the proposed algorithm to calculate the values for attack detection, and the threshold for determining the calculated values was derived by applying SVM.Through experiments, the detection model proposed showed a detection rate of 94% when 35% of the total sensor nodes were attack sensor nodes and improvement of up to 26% in power retention.

  • Denial of service is about knocking off services, without permission for example through crashing the whole system. This kind of attacks are easy to launch and it is hard to protect a system against them. The basic problem is that Unix assumes that users on the system or on other systems will be well behaved. This paper analyses system-based inside denial of services attack(DoS) and system metric for performance of each machine provided. And formalize the conclusions results in ways that clearly expose the performance impact of those observations. So, we present new approach. It is detecting DoS attack using performance signature for system and program behavior. We present new approach. It is detecting DoS attack using performance signature for system and program behavior. We believe that metric will be to guide to automated development of a program to detect the attack. As a results, we propose the AIDPS(Architecture for Intrusion Detection using Performance Signature) model to detect DoS attack using performance signature.
