This study investigated the characteristics of contents of the Atmosphere and Weather in the elementary science curriculum. For this study, elementary science textbooks reflecting the elementary science curriculum from 1st to 7th were analyzed with a number of tools. The results were as follows: Several parts of the contents about Atmosphere and Weather were dealt continuously through the all of science curriculum. Atmospheric Pressure, Humidity and Atmospheric Pressure and Weather were applied at the fifth grade above continuously. And Cloud$\cdot$Fog$\cdot$Dew was applied at the third and fifth grade. Quantity of learning about Atmosphere was more than it's of Weather always. Especially, Movement of Atmosphere and Temperature Change were maintained continuously above $10\%$ of the contents about Atmosphere and Weather. Some of the detailed learning themes related Atmosphere and Weather were dealt commonly through the all of the elementary science curriculum. Finally, the results showed that the contents of Physical Nature of Atmosphere, Atmospheric Pressure, Movement of Atmosphere, Temperature and it's Change and Cloud$\cdot$Fog$\cdot$Dew had been learned always with the experiments and practical training.

The present study is numerically investigated the flame structure of non-premixed counterflow jet flames using the laminar flamelet model Detailed flame structures with the fuel composition of 40% CO, 30% $H_2$. 30% $N_2$ and an oxidizer composition of 79% $N_2$ and 21% $O_2$ in a non-premixed counterflow flame are studied numerically. This study is aimed to investigate the effects of axial velocity gradient and combustion atmosphere pressure on flame structure. The results show that the role of axial velocity gradient on combustion processes is globally opposite to that of combustion atmosphere pressure. That is, chemical nonequilibrium effects become dominant with increasing axial velocity gradient, but are suppressed with increasing ambient pressure. Also, the flame strength is globally weakened by the increase of axial velocity gradient but is augmented by the increase of ambient pressure. However, flame extinction is described better on the basis of only chemical reaction and in this study axial velocity gradient and ambient pressure play a similar role conceptually such that the increase of axial velocity gradient and ambient pressure cause flame not to be extinguished and extend the extinction limit, respectively. Consequently it is suggested that a combustion process like flame extinction is mainly influenced by the competition between the radical formation reaction and the third-body recombination reaction.
This study develops a dual purpose: i) evaluating the effects of two different Mars atmosphere models (NASA Glenn and GRAM-2001) on aerodynamics of a capsule (Pathfinder) entering the Mars atmosphere, ii) verifying the feasibility of evaluating the ambient density and pressure by means of the methods by McLaughlin and Cassanto, respectively and therefore to re-build the values provided by the models. The method by McLaughlin relies on the evaluation of the capsule drag coefficient, the method by Cassanto relies on the measurement of pressure at a point on the capsule surface in aerodynamic shadow. The study has been carried out computationally by means of: i) a code integrating the equations of dynamics of the capsule for the computation of the entry trajectory, ii) a DSMC code for the solution of the flow field around the capsule in the altitude interval 50-100 km. The models show consistent differences at altitudes higher than about 40 km. It seems that the GRAM-2001 model is more reliable than the NASA Glenn model. In fact, the NASA Glenn model produces, at high altitude, temperatures that seem to be too low compared with those from the GRAM-2001 model and correspondingly very different aerodynamic conditions in terms of Mach, Reynolds and Knudsen numbers. This produces pretty different capsule drag coefficients by the two models as well as pressure on its surface, making not feasible neither the method by McLaughlin nor that by Cassanto, until a single, reliable model of the Mars atmosphere is not established. The present study verified that the implementation of the Cassanto method in Mars atmosphere should rely (such as it is currently) on pressure obtained experimentally in ground facilities.
Recently LPG engine is developed to fulfill such new requirements as improved fuel efficiency in additional to further reduced exhaust emission. This experimental study is conducted to analyze spray characteristics for pintle type injector used in a LPLi (Liquid Phase LPG injection) engine. Since spray parameters including penetration length and spray angle make a role to design injector and engine intake system, spray visualization experiment is performed under atmosphere ambient and charging condition using Mie scattering method. From the experimental result under various LPG formation, the increased propane component decreases penetration length because boiling point of propane is lower than butane. To simulate intake charging condition in MPI engine, spray visualization is performed under high pressure condition. As a result, as ambient pressure is increased from atmosphere to 3.0 bar, penetration length is decreased. However, as ambient pressure is increased from atmosphere to 3.0 bar, spray angle is increased.
For improvement of the wear performance of Ti alloy, vacuum-carburizing technique was tried for the first time using propane atmosphere. During the low pressure carburizing carbide was formed at the surface and carbon transfer was occurred from the carbide to the matrix. It was found that: (i) surface hardness increased with the reduction of operating pressure and time; (ii) optimum hardness distribution could be obtained with the proper choice of temperature and carbon flux control; and, (iii) case depth was largely influenced not by time but by temperature. The two steps process was recommended for obtaining thick case depth and high surface hardness of Ti alloy. For the low oxygen partial pressure, it was necessary to introduce additional CO gas to the atmosphere.Grain boundary oxidation and non-uniformity could be prevented.

Atmosphere Plasmas of Gas Discharge (APGD) have been used in plasma sources for material processing such as etching, deposition, surface modification, etc. This study is to investigate and understand the fundamental plasma discharge properties. Especially, $SF_6/N_2$ mixed gas would be used in power transformer, GIS (Gas insulated switchgear) and so on. In this paper, we developed a one dimensional fluid simulation model with capacitively coupled plasma chamber at the atmosphere pressure (760 [Torr]). 38 kinds of $SF_6/N_2$ plasma particles which are an electron, two positive ions (${SF_5}^+$, ${N_2}^+$), five negative ions (${SF_6}^-$, ${SF_5}^-$, ${SF_4}^-$, ${F_2}^-$, ${F_1}^-$), thirty excitation and vibrational particles for $N_2$ were considered in this computation. The $N_2$ gases of 20%, 50%, 80% were mixed in $SF_6$ gas. As the amount of $N_2$ gas was increased, the properties of electro-negative plasma moved toward the electro-positive plasma.

Atmosphere Plasma of Gas Discharge (APGD) has been used in plasma sources for material processing such as etching, deposition, surface modification and so on due to having no thermal damages. The APGD researches on AC source with high frequency have been mainly processed. However, DC APGD studies have been not. In order to understand APGD further, it is necessary to study on fundamental properties of DC APGD. In this paper, we developed a one-dimensional fluid simulation model with capacitively coupled plasma chamber at the atmosphere pressure (760 [Torr]). Nine kinds of Ar discharge particles such as electron (e), positive ions ($Ar^+$, $Ar_2^+$) and neutral particles ($Ar_m^*$, $Ar_r^*$, $Ar_h^*$, $Ar_2^*$(1), $Ar_2^*$(3) and Ar gas) are considered in the computation. The simulation was worked at the current range of 1~15 [mA]. The characteristics of voltage-current were calculated and the structure of Joule heating were discussed. The spatial distributions of Ar DC APGD and the mechanism of power consumption were also investigated.

In this study, we aimed to determine the optical properties of the plasma used for the dry cleaning method. The optical properties of the atmospheric pressure plasma device were measured through the degree of ionization of hydrogen or nitrogen gas by ionized atmospheric gas. The degree of ionization of hydrogen or nitrogen is closely associated with surface modification. We observed through our experiments that argon gas, an atmospheric gas, caused an increase in the ionization of nitrogen gas, which has similar ionization energy. This type of increase in nitrogen gas ions is believed to affect surface modification. The results of our study show that the pressure of argon gas and the partial pressure of argon and nitrogen gases lead to different results. This important result shows that argon ions can affect the ionization of nitrogen gas.
The effects of $CO_2$ ppm in atmosphere on the values of the total emissivity are studied. The predictions by several methods are compared. The predicted value differences between modified Kondratyev model and Hottel model are the smallest with in the range of values tested. The $CO_2$ ppm is varied from 300 ppm to 600 ppm. By Wide Band model, the total emissivity increases with increasing density-path length product rather linearly up to 0.1 g/$cm^2$. For given $CO_2$ ppm, the total emissivity increases as the air thickness increases. The same is true for both temperature and pressure increase. The temperature range tested is 220 to 300 K. Around 260K, the total emissivity is less sensitive with increasing temperature than with decreasing temperature. The pressure is varied from 0.94 to 1.06 atm. The percentage change of total emissivity with pressure change from 1atm is at most the percentage change of the pressure.
YMnO3 thin films were prepared on Pt/Ti/SiO2/Si substrate by chemical solution deposition method. The films were crystallized by heat-treatment at 85$0^{\circ}C$ for 1 hour. Effects of an annealing atmosphere(O2, Ar, vacuum) on the crystallization behavior and electridcal properties were investigated. YMnO3 thin films annealed under Ar atmosphere showed a superior crystallinity and a very strong c-aix preferred-orientation which was a polar axis. Leakage current density of the films decreased with lowering oxygen partial pressure of the annealing atmosphere. C-V and P-E ferroelectric hysteresis were observed only in the thin film heat-treated under Ar atmosphere. In order to prepare YMnO3 thin films having both low leakage current and ferroelectricity, the annealing atmsphere should be kept under a proper oxygen partial pressure which was about 1 Pa in this work. Leakage current density at 1 volt, dielectric constant($\varepsilon$r), remanent polarization(Pr), and coercive field(Ec) were 1.7$\times$10-8 A/$\textrm{cm}^2$, 25, 1.08$\mu$C/$\textrm{cm}^2$, and 100 kV/cm, respectively.
