A Distributed Task Assignment Method and its Performance

  • We suggest a distributed framework for task assignment in the computer-controlled shop floor where each of the resource agents and part agents acts like an independent profit maker. The job allocation problem is formulated as a linear programming problem. The LP formulation is analyzed to provide a rationale for the distributed task assignment procedure. We suggest an auction based negotiation procedure including a price-based bid construction and a price revising mechanism. The performance of the suggested procedure is compared with those of an LP formulation and conventional dispatching procedures by simulation experiments.

Waypoints Assignment and Trajectory Generation for Multi-UAV Systems

  • Coordination of multiple UAVs is an essential technology for various applications in robotics, automation, and artificial intelligence. In general, it includes 1) waypoints assignment and 2) trajectory generation. In this paper, we propose a new method for this problem. First, we modify the concept of the standard visibility graph to greatly improve the optimality of the generated trajectories and reduce the computational complexity. Second, we propose an efficient stochastic approach using simulated annealing that assigns waypoints to each UAV from the constructed visibility graph. Third, we describe a method to detect collision between two UAVs. FinallY, we suggest an efficient method of controlling the velocity of UAVs using A* algorithm in order to avoid inter-UAV collision. We present simulation results from various environments that verify the effectiveness of our approach.

  • In this paper, a new state assignment method is proposed for the implementation of the area-effective control part. Introducing the, concept of adjacency matrix to control table generated by SDL(Symbolic Description Language) hardware compiler, a state assignment method is proposed with which minimal number of flip flops and effective number of product terms can be obtained to accomplish the area-effective implementation. Also, with substituting the assigned code to state transition table, boolean equations are obtained through 2-level logic minimization. Proposed algorithm is programmed in C-language on VAX-750/UNIX and b efficiency is shown by the practical example.

  • One of the basic goals, when considering networks for communication in industrial control applications, is the reduction of complexity of related wiring harnesses. In addition, the networking offers the advantages for industrial control applications, such as ease of cabling, ease of changes in the cabling, ease of adding controller modules, etc. CAN (Controller Area Network) is generally applied in car networking in order to reduce the complexity of the related wiring harnesses. These traditional CAN application techniques are modified to achieve the real time communication for the industrial control applications. In this paper, we propose the method of CAN Identifier assignment for Real-Time network system. This method is can be used to scheduling messages on CAN for Real-Time network system. And also, the real-time network system is developed and the proposed moth(Ids are verified experimentally.

  • Eigenstructure (eigenvalues/eigenvectors) assignment has been shown to be a useful tool for flight control system design. In the sense of the eigenstructure assignment, the effectiveness and disturbance suppressibility of a controller depend mainly on the left eigenstructure (eigenvalues/left eigenvectors) of a system. On the other hand, the disturbance decouplability is governed by the right eigenstructure (eigenvalues/right eigenvectors) of the system. In this paper, in order to obtain a disturbance decouplable as well as effective and disturbance suppressible controller, a concurrent assignment methodology of the left and right eigenstructures is proposed. The biorthogonality condition between the left and right modal matrices of a system as well as the relations between the achievable right modal matrix and state selection matrices are used to develop the methodology. The proposed concurrent eigenstructure assignment methodology guarantees that the desired eigenvalues are achieved exactly and the desired left and right eigenvectors are assigned to the best possible(achievable) sets of eigenvectors in the least square sense, respectively. The proposed design methodology is applied to designing a lateral flight control system for an L-1011 aircraft with disturbances.

Multi-Cluster based Dynamic Channel Assignment for Dense Femtocell Networks

  • This paper proposes a novel channel assignment scheme called multi-cluster based dynamic channel assignment (MC-DCA) to improve system performance for the downlink of dense femtocell networks (DFNs) based on orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) and frequency division duplexing (FDD). In order to dynamically assign channels for femtocell access points (FAPs), the MC-DCA scheme uses a heuristic method that consists of two steps: one is a multiple cluster assignment step to group FAPs using graph coloring algorithm with some extensions, while the other is a dynamic subchannel assignment step to allocate subchannels for maximizing the system capacity. Through simulations, we first find optimum parameters of the multiple FAP clustering to maximize the system capacity and then evaluate system performance in terms of the mean FAP capacity, unsatisfied femtocell user equipment (FUE) probability, and mean FAP power consumption for data transmission based on a given FUE traffic load. As a result, the MC-DCA scheme outperforms other schemes in two different DFN environments for commercial and office buildings.

최소비용 우선선택 방법에 기반한 할당 문제 알고리즘 (Assignment Problem Algorithm Based on the First Selection Method of the Minimum Cost)

  • 본 논문은 할당 문제의 최적해를 간단히 찾을 수 있는 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 일반적으로 할당 문제의 최적해는 Hungarian 알고리즘으로 구한다. 제안된 알고리즘은 Hungarian 알고리즘의 4단계 수행 과정을 2단계로 단축시켰다. 첫 번째로, 행렬의 최소 비용을 선택하고 행과 열의 값을 삭제하는 과정을 거쳐 초기 할당을 수행하였다. 두 번째로 할당을 조정하는 과정을 수행하였다. 제안된 알고리즘을 27개의 균형 할당 문제와 7개의 불균형 할당 문제에 적용한 결과 Genetic 알고리즘으로 찾지 못한 최적해를 찾는데 성공하였다. 따라서 제안된 알고리즘은 Hungarian 알고리즘을 대체하여 일반적으로 적용할 수 있을 것이다.

무기할당을 위한 계층적 레이지 그리디 알고리즘 (Hierarchical Lazy Greedy Algorithm for Weapon Target Assignment)

  • Weapon target assignment problem is an essential technology for automating the operator's rapid decision-making support in a battlefield situation. Weapon target assignment problem is a kind of the optimization problem that can build up an objective function by maximizing the number of threat target destructed or maximizing the survival rate of the protected assets. Weapon target assignment problem is known as the NP-Complete, and various studies have been conducted on it. Among them, a greedy heuristic algorithm which guarantees (1-1/e) approximation has been considered a very practical method in order to enhance the applicability of the real weapon system. In this paper, we formulated the weapon target assignment problem for supporting decision-making at the level of artillery. The lazy strategy based on hierarchical structure is proposed to accelerate the greedy algorithm. By experimental results, we show that our algorithm is more efficient in processing time and support the same level of the objective function value with the basic greedy algorithm.

공공터미널의 선석배정계획에 관하여 (A Berth Assignment Planning for a Public Terminal)

  • A berth assignment problem has a direct impact on assessment of charges made to ships and goods. A berth can be assigned to incoming vessels and operated in tow different ways: as a common user berth, as a preference berth. A common user berth is a berth that any ship calling at a port may be permitted to use according to her time of arrival and to priorities as determined by the port authority. In this paper, we concerned with various types of mathematical programming models for a berth assignment problem to achive an efficient berth operation. In this paper, we focus on a reasonable berth assignment programming in a public container terminal in consideration of trade-off between server and user. We propose a branch and bound algorithm & heuristic algorithm for solving the problem. We suggest three models of berth assignment to minimizing the objective functions such as total port time, total berthing time and maximum berthing time by using a revised Maximum Position Shift(MPS) with which the trade-off between servers and users can be considered. The berth assignment problem is formulated by min-max and 0-1 integer programming and developed heuristic algorithm to solve the problem more easily instead of branch and bound method. Finally, we gave the numerrical solutions of the illustrative examples.

예측적 다중계층 동적배분모형의 구축 및 알고리즘 개발 (The Development of Predictive Multiclass Dynamic Traffic Assignment Model and Algorithm)

  • 시간에 따라 변화하는 네트워크 상황을 반영하는 통행배분 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 이러한 연구의 배경에는 통행배분 모델이 도로망 계획이라고 하는 하드웨어 분야의 계획에만 그치지 않고 교통관리나 제어라고 하는 소프트웨어 분야의 계획에도 활용하고자 하는 사회적 필요성의 증가 때문이다. 또한, 통행배분 모형의 이론과 현실 사이의 괴리를 줄이고자 하는 차원에서 연구되고 있는 모형으로 다중계층 통행배분 모형이 있다. 이 모형은 다중 운전자 계층과 다차종 계층으로 구분되며 이중에서 동적모형과 결합될 수 있는 보다 현실성 있는 분야는 다차종 분야이다. 이러한 배경에서 본 연구의 목적은 이 두 분야를 결합한 다차종 동적 통행배분 모형을 구축하고자 한다. 이것은 동적 이용자 균형 배분 모형이 현재 이슈화 되고 있는 첨단교통체계(ITS)의 이론적 지주가 되고 있으며 따라서 이러한 동적모형을 다중계층 모형과 결합시킴으로써 보다 현실성 있는 동적 모형이 구축될 수 있을 것으로 기대되기 때문이다. 그렇지만 다수의 차종을 고려하게 되는 경우 기존의 동적 배분 모형의 구축을 위하여 필요한 FIFO가 위반된다. 이것은 FIFO 제약 조건하에 구축되는 기존의 동적 배분 모델링 방법으로는 다차종 동적모형의 구축이 불가능함을 의미한다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 FIFO 제약조건을 완화 시킬 수 있는 동적 네트워크의 모형을 구축하였으며 동시에 기존의 네트워크 부화 기법의 하나인 시뮬래이션 기법을 수정하여 본 연구의 모형에 적용될 수 있도록 고안하였다. 또한 해법(알고리즘) 분야오 기존의 최단경로 산정 알고리즘을 수정한 시간종속적인 최단경로 알고리즘과, 기존의 MSA를 수정한 알고리즘도 구축하였다. 이렇게 구축된 모형과 알고리즘을 격자형 격자형 네트워크에 적용하여 동적이용자 균형해를 산정하여 구축된 알고리즘의 수렴성을 검증하였다.
