  • This study thus set out to empirically analyze connections between the success factors of marketing and management performance in the silver industry. For that purpose, the investigator analyzed relations between independent variables, which include such success factors of marketing as market segmentation, product mix, customer relational management, brand asset, price strategy, and marketing information system, and dependent ones, which include financial and non-financial management performance. Those results partially support the hypothesis that the six success factors of marketing set in the study have effects on financial and non-financial management performance in the silver industry. Customer relational management had the biggest influence, being followed by brand asset and price strategy in the order. Those results indicate that companies need to consider customer relational management, brand asset, and price strategy before other success factors of marketing to achieve financial and non-financial management performance in the silver industry.

  • We analyzed the structures and properties of the global financial market networks using social network analysis approach. The Minimum Spanning Tree (MST) lengths and networks of the global financial markets based on the correlation coefficients have been analyzed. Firstly, similar to the previous studies on the global stock indices using MST length, the diversification effects in the global multi-asset portfolio can disappear during the crisis as the correlations among the asset class and within the asset class increase due to the system risks. Second, through the network visualization, we found the clustering of the asset class in the global financial markets network, which confirms the possible diversification effect in the global multi-asset portfolio. Meanwhile, we found the changes in the structure of the network during the crisis. For the last one, in terms of the degree centrality, the stock indices were the most influential to other assets in the global financial markets network, while in terms of the betweenness centrality, Gold, Silver and AUD. In the practical perspective, we propose the methods such as MST length and network visualization to monitor the change of the correlation risk for the risk management of the multi-asset portfolio.

  • Since the advent of Bitcoin, various virtual assets have been actively traded through virtual asset services of virtual asset exchanges. Recently, security accidents have frequently occurred in virtual asset exchanges, so the government is obligated to obtain information security management system (ISMS) certification to strengthen information protection of virtual asset exchanges, and 56 additional specialized items have been established. In this paper, we compared the domain importance of ISMS and CryptoCurrency Security Standard (CCSS) which is a set of requirements for all information systems that make use of cryptocurrencies, and analyzed the results after mapping them to gain insight into the characteristics of each certification system. Improvements for 4 items of High Level were derived by classifying the priorities for improvement items into 3 stages: High, Medium, and Low. These results can provide priority for virtual asset and information system security, support method and systematic decision-making on improvement of certified items, and contribute to vitalization of virtual asset transactions by enhancing the reliability and safety of virtual asset services.

  • Recently, both the integration of product data during design and production and the effective management of information during full lifecycles have attracted attention from shipyards and ship owners as a result of recycling regulations and a desire for efficient operations. Generally, PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) supports a collaborative environment during the BOL (Beginning of Life) stage, while an ALM (Asset Lifecycle Management) system provides all of the information required to maintain, overhaul, and discard/recycle all or part of a vessel during the MOL (Middle of Life) and EOL (End of Life) stages. The main goal of this paper is to suggest the fundamental configuration of a PALM (Product Asset Lifecylce Management) system and a method that can be used to utilize a marine vessel's lifecycle information during the MOL, emphasizing the maintenance information during the middle of life. The authors also suggest a PALM system configuration in which lifecycle information can be collected by a PEID (Product Embedded Information Device) integrating a microcomputer, sensors, and wireless network communication. Through a prototype PALM system, the suggested features and PALM system configuration are implemented.

  • Purpose - The objective of this paper is to investigate the effect of asset specificity, the level of information sharing, the importance of information sharing, and an integrated collaborative environment on supply chain performance. Research design, data, and methodology - Data collection was implemented as follows: questionnaires were distributed to 250 companies that have business ties with Halla Climate Control Corporation. The empirical study to test our hypothesis was based on statistical analysis (using SPSS 18.0 and AMOS 18.0). The hypothesis of this paper is that the asset specificity variable has positive effects on the following variables: Level of information sharing, the importance of information sharing, and integrated collaborative environment. Moreover the variables, the level of information sharing, and the importance of information sharing are strongly influenced by the variable integrated collaborative environment, and these when combined, have an effect on the dependent variable, supply chain performance. We tested our hypothesized model utilizing path analysis with latent variables. Results - According to the results of our analysis, hypothesis H1, which tests whether there is a relationship between asset specificity and the integrated collaborative environment, is supported at the 0.01 level. Hypotheses H2 and H3 were also confirmed, and asset specificity had positive effects (+) on the level of information sharing variable. The importance of the information sharing variable was statistically significant at the 0.01 level. Hypotheses H4 and H5 posited that the integrated collaborative environment variable would have a positive effect on the level of information sharing; the importance of information sharing variable was strongly supported statistically, with a significant p-value below. Moreover, the level of information sharing (H6), and the importance of information sharing (H7) variables also had a statistically relevant influence on supply chain performance. As a result, existence of a collaborative system between companies would influence supply chain performance by strengthening real-time information access and information sharing. Thus, it is important to construct a collaborative environment where information sharing among companies and cooperation is possible. Conclusions - First, with rapid changes in the business environment, it becomes necessary for enterprises to acquire the right information in order to properly implement SCM. For successful SCM, firms should understand the importance of collaboration with supply chain partners and an internally built collaboration system, which in turn will better promote a partnership commitment with suppliers as well as collaborative integration with buyers. A collaborative system, as we suggest in this paper, facilitates the maintenance of a long-term relationship of trust, and can help reinforce information sharing. Second, it is necessary to increase information sharing over time via a collaborative system so that employees of the suppliers become aware of the system. The more proactive and positive attitudes are towards such a collaborative system by the managerial group, the higher the level of information sharing will be among the users. Successful SCM performance is achieved by information sharing through a collaborative environment rather than by investing only in setting up an information system.
