칼라화상관 전극 프로그레시브금형의 자동설계시스템개발 (Development of an Automatic Design System of Progressive Die for making CPT grid)

  • This paper describes a computer-aided die design system of progressive die for making CPT grid. An approach to the development of the automatic design system is based on knowledge-based rules. The developed system is designed by considering several factors, such as grid geometry and punch profile. Grid, a key component of electronic gun, is formed through a sequence of many operations, among which the pilot piercing, beading, notching, bending, swaging and slotting etc. Using the developed system, design parameters are determined and output is generated in graphic forms. Therefore the developed system provides part drawing and the assembly drawing of die set.

  • Most of researches of tolerance optimization have used a simple sum of tolerance-cost functions with several constraint equations as an optimization model. However, if there is a machining sequence with more than one processes to complete a part, and machining failure, i.e., out-of-tolerance occurs at one of the intermediate processes, the tolerance-cost of this process should be added by the machining cost of all the previous processes already completed on the part. In this study, an accumulated scrap cost model(ASCM) is proposed considering the scrapped machining cost, and applied to a simple assembly example. The result of tolerance optimization using ASCM is compared with that of using a traditional optimization model to confirm its effectiveness.

  • To achieve high productivity of assembly hull blocks, it is important to predict welding deformations accurately and to apply these data to the production planning. In the deformation analysis of hull block, simplified methods (elastic analysis) such as inherent method, equivalent loading method and local & global approach are usually used instead of thermal-elastic-plastic analysis because of calculating time and cost. To be much more practical, these simplified methods should consider gravity effect of plate and contact condition between the plate and the positioning jig. In this research, using finite element method, practical predicting method for the welding deformation of the curved hull blocks with considering welding sequence, gravity effect and contact condition is proposed.

Identification of a Cellular Protein Interacting with Murine Retrovirus Gag Polyproteins

  • The retroviral Gag polyprotein directs the assembly of virion particles and plays an important role in some events after entry into a host cell. The Gag polyprotein of a virus mixture is responsible for inducing murine acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (MAIDS) when injected into susceptible strains of mice. In order to identify the host cellular proteins which interact with the MAIDS virus Gag proteins and possibly mediate the function of the Gag proteins, mouse T-cell leukemic cDNA expression library was screened using the yeast GAL4 two hybrid system. Of 11 individual positive clones, the clone Y1 was selected for the study of protein-protein interaction. Its DNA sequence revealed that it was an exact match to the murine SH3 domain-containing protein SH3P8. It is expressed as 2.4 kbp transcripts in testis at higher levels and in various tissues tested at lower levels. Glutathione S-transferase-Y1 fusion protein binds tightly to $Pr60^{def-gag}$ as well as $Pr65^{eco-gag}$.

  • The body of an excavator, one sort of the construction equipment, consists of mainframe part, track frame part, boom part and arm part. The all parts are manufactured in the body welding operation. The scheduling in the body welding operation of a construction equipment manufacturing is to take all the various constraints into consideration. The offset time, due date, daily capacity of operations, daily jig's capacity, precedence relation, outsourcing, alternative resource and all of the shop floor environment should be considered. An APS(Advanced Planning & Scheduling) system is a proper and efficient system in such circumstance. In this paper, we present an APS system, the optimal scheduling system for the construction equipment manufacturing specifically for the body welding operation, using ILOG Solver/Scheduler. ILOG Solver/Scheduler is a general purposed commercial software which supports to find a feasible or optimal solution using object oriented technique and constraints satisfaction programming, given constraints and objectives.

SFannotation: A Simple and Fast Protein Function Annotation System

  • Owing to the generation of vast amounts of sequencing data by using cost-effective, high-throughput sequencing technologies with improved computational approaches, many putative proteins have been discovered after assembly and structural annotation. Putative proteins are typically annotated using a functional annotation system that uses extant databases, but the expansive size of these databases often causes a bottleneck for rapid functional annotation. We developed SFannotation, a simple and fast functional annotation system that rapidly annotates putative proteins against four extant databases, Swiss-Prot, TIGRFAMs, Pfam, and the non-redundant sequence database, by using a best-hit approach with BLASTP and HMMSEARCH.

Prediction of Welding Deformation of Ship Hull Blocks

  • Welding deformation reduces the accuracy of ship hull blocks and decreases productivity due to the need for correction work. Preparing an error-minimizing guide at the design stage will lead to higher quality as well as higher productivity. Therefore, developing a precise method to predict the weld deformation is an essential part of it. This paper proposes an efficient method for predicting the weld deformation of complicated structures based on the inherent strain theory combined with the finite element method. A simulation of a stiffened panel confirmed the applicability of this method to simple ship hull blocks.

Complete genome sequence of Bacillus coagulans CACC834 isolated from canine

  • Bacillus coagulans CACC 834 was isolated from canine feces, and its potential probiotic properties were characterized by functional genome analysis. Whole-genome sequencing of B. coagulans CACC 834 was performed using the PacBio RSII platforms. The complete genome assembly consisted of one circular chromosome (3.1 Mb) with guanine (G) + cytosine (C) content of 47.1%. Annotation revealed 3,181 protein-coding sequences (CDSs), 30 rRNAs, and 83 tRNAs. Gene associated 11% of the genes were involved in replication, recombination, and repair. We also annotated various stress-related, acid resistance, bile salt resistance and adhesion-related domains in this strain, which likely provide support in exerting probiotic action by survival under gastrointestinal tract. These results add to our comprehensive understanding of B. coagulans and suggest potential mammal-related industrial applications.
