  • External vibration occurred during vehicle's movement can affect performance of communication equipment and reliability of internal critical components of it. Therefore, through environmental testing, verification is performed prior to system test in order to prevent these problems. In this study, anti-vibration design is applied to compensate for the failure in certain frequencies during environmental test. Through the dynamic analysis according to the changes of mount configuration, optimization of the mount assemble structure was performed.

Development of the Tolerance Design System for a Gear Drive (치차 장치를 위한 공차 설계 시스템 개발)

  • When designing a gear drive, designers should specify tolerances reasonably considering accuracy, cost, and manufacturing capability. In field design, however, designers mostly assign adequate tolerance without correlations between parts and assembly, resulting in iterative design dependent on experts know-how. In order to resolve this, the tolerance design system for a cylindrical gear drive is developed both to support tolerance design automation and to synthesize design processes of part and assembly tolerances. In this research, part tolerances are designed with the databases constructed by ISO, Ks, JIS and bearing catalogue, Assemble tolerance, that is, backlash tolerance is designed by synthesizing part design tolerances stochastically using the formulated assembly relations. This system can include part tolerance and fitting accuracy of shaft adn bearing in practical design. In addition, this system provides field-designers with a synthetic guideline for tolerance design of a gear drive.

  • Most of automotive companies make use of spot welding in order to assemble car body. Even though spot welding has been developed for last 60 years, there were some limitations in upgrading production line. Laser welding has advantages In productivity and degree of freedom in design. Thanks to fast speed, we can reduce body assembly line by 80%. Also with non-contact & one-side approach, it is possible to design various car body structures. New project launched the laser welding technology in mass production has started in 1999. In this paper, a new type of cur named 'next generation vehicle (NGV)' is introduced. The car body of NGV is welded with 4㎾ Nd: YAG laser.

  • Recently, on power system, it is used to high voltage of transmission and distribution due to safe power supply and have high quality and insulation in order to satisfy excellent insulator. Thus, according to underground of high voltage cable, is occurred break down by ground short. Therefore, it is used to high quality XLPE power cable to interrupt instantaneous voltage drop. If it appear inner defect for cable whose have high quality and insulation, it is reduced rapidly due to concentration of electrical field. After assemble to manufacture, in order to inspect cable condition, it is decided much inspection standard. In this paper, In inner defect of assembling cable at manufacture, for measure the variation of insulation condition by void. it tested the variation of insulating characteristics, using $\phi$-q-n distribution variation in partial discharge experiment.

  • In Case of High speed PM machines with surface-mounted magnet. A rare-earth PM with high remanence flux density is used on the rotor. Therefore, It is very difficult to adhesion and assemble PM on the surface of rotor, because of very repulsive force between magnets. So, for solving this problem, rotor with surface-mounted magnet is wholly magnetized after mounting magnetic-material on the surface. In this paper, In order to Magnetize rotor with surface-mounted PM, magnetizing machine is designed, analyzed and simulated for large PM machines using the 1dimensional analytical method and 2dimensional finite element method. (20-FEM).

  • According to the ubiquitous times that is new important topic, the miniature is demanded in the industry at large. The high accuracy and accumulation make the assembly equipment and the production equipment huge from the size of view. The huge equipment brings about the expensive price of the equipment, a low flexibleness and a low productivity. It makes the manufacturing equipment huge that the accuracy only depends on the mechanism stiffness. The position of two assembled parts is transformed with the global coordinate system whose datum is machine coordinate system. The purpose of this research is invention of the module that can adjust one part to the order part automatically. The module that has a function of self adjustment only takes a stiffness in assemble direction and can be moved freely in the other direction so this function makes a self adjustment. The self adjustment module reduces the tact time and also diminishes the inferior goods and makes reconfigurable machine in $\mu-part$ assembly.

Protein Interaction Mapping of Translational Regulators Affecting Expression of the Critical Stem Cell Factor Nos

  • The germline stem cells of the Drosophila ovary continuously produce eggs throughout the life-span. Intricate regulation of stemness and differentiation is critical to this continuous production. The translational regulator Nos is an intrinsic factor that is required for maintenance of stemness in germline stem cells. Nos expression is reduced in differentiating cells at the post-transcriptional level by diverse translational regulators. However, molecular mechanisms underlying Nos repression are not completely understood. Through three distinct protein-protein interaction experiments, we identified specific molecular interactions between translational regulators involved in Nos repression. Our findings suggest a model in which protein complexes assemble on the 3' untranslated region of Nos mRNA in order to regulate Nos expression at the post-transcriptional level.

A Study on Designing Key Fastening Parts for Compatibility of Teaching-Aids-Robots (교구로봇 호환성을 위한 체결구 부품 설계에 관한 연구)

  • This paper deals with researching and designing the fastening parts to be used in order to assemble various Teaching Aids Robots (or Hands-on Robots) with originally incompatible parts supplied by different manufacturers. The suggested fastening parts provide the compatibility among Teaching Aids Robots even though the educational robot customers use incompatible parts from different companies. The designed fastening parts are classified into four set groups such as frame set, sliding-bar set, connector set, and set of chuck and rivet/bolt. Each set of the fastening parts reflects the needs collected from the users, and then some portion of new idea has been added to implement the needs. In this paper, the examples of the Teaching Aids Robots which are assembled with both commercial parts and the designed parts are presented in order to evaluate the compatibility and usability of the suggested fastening parts. As a result, both compatibility and usability of the fastening parts suggested in this paper were proved. The designed fastening parts have been distributed to more than 100 elementary schools nationwide.

Implementation of PLM Functional and Architecture between ETO Shipbuilding and ATO Industries (주문형 설계 조선산업과 주문형 조립산업의 특성에 따른 PLM 기능과 구조 설계)

  • The current challenge with which most shipyards are forced is to reduce the design time and the time-to-delivery because of explosive order of shipbuilding. Collaborative design and product data management have become important to reduce the lead time. Furthermore, enterprise information technologies such as ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), SCM (Supply Chain management), and APS (Advanced Planning System) requires the collaborative environment. Also, manufacturing environment has been considered as a topic of strategic interest to get shorter product lifecycles in shipyards. Most shipyards have chosen an environment of ETO (Engineering To Order) strategy which designs and produces new products in response to various requirements of customer, rules and regulations. In the ATO (Assemble 10 Order) environment, most component parts have been designed to be procured or produced on the order requirement. The basic distinction between the ETO and ATO is the timing of the design. Thus in the ATO environment, it is more flexible in reducing the lead time to meet the specified requirements of customers. However, the ETO strategy requires new ship design process and ship product structures that are linked with the implementation of PLM. And, the function and architecture of current PLM solution has been designed based upon ATO environment properly. This paper presents the PLM architecture which effectively reflects the characteristics of shipbuilding. 4-layer architecture model is suggested to implement the PLM system. Also, implemented functions of ship PLM is explained in order to make a practical guidance for ship PLM implementation.

COD, SS and Turbidity Removal of Paper Wastewater Using DAE(Dissolved Air Flotation) (DAF(Dissolved Air Flotation)를 이용한 제지폐수의 COD, SS 및 탁도 제거)

  • The supernatant treatment of recovery process of raw materials of paper plant was studied using DAF (Dissolved Air Flotation) system. We investigated the removal efficiency (COD, SS and turbidity) of the DAF process. The effects of parameters such as A/S ratio, pressure, flotation conditions, coagulant concentration, mixing conditions, size and ratio of packing and nozzle type were examined. The results showed that the optimum A/S ratio and pressure were 0.058 and 4.5-5 atm, respectively. Injection times of pressurized water around 30 s and flotation times around 10 min appeared to be optimal for the DAF operation. Anion polymer addition improved the removal of COD, SS and turbidity. The smaller size and the more packing ratio were enhanced the removal efficiencies. The order of performance of nozzle was full cone > flat > assemble type.
