  • The transcription characteristics of the mold surface in the molding of aspherical glass lenses for camera phone modules have been investigated experimentally. The surface topographies of both the form and the roughness were compared between the mold and the molded lens. For the form topography, the molded lens showed a transcription ratio of 93.4% against the mold, which is obtained by comparing the form error (PV) values of the mold and the molded lens. The transcription characteristics of the roughness topography were ascertained by bearing ratio analysis.

  • In this paper, we study the analysis method for the aspherical tolerance of a Korsch telescope using a Q polynomial. It is important to analyze the tolerances for evaluating quality in high-precision fabrication of aspherical reflectors for high-resolution satellites. Thus we express the aspheric surface in terms of a Q polynomial in which each coefficient term is composed independently, and analyze the tolerance of a Korsch telescope. We also analyze the tolerance using Zernike fringe sag, which expresses the shape error of an aspherical mirror. By comparing the two results, we confirm that the Q-polynomial method can be used to analyze an aspherical mirror.

  • Purpose: Analysis performance for spectacle lens which sales in domestic market and optimization design a spectacle lens which is corrected aberration. Methods: Measured center thickness, radius and aspherical surface coefficient for spherical and aspherical lenses which were ${\pm}$5.00D. Refractive index for every lens was 1.6 and they came from 4 different companies. I used 3 types of equipment to measure lenses. ID-F150 (Mitutoyo) : Center Thickness, FOCOVISION (SR-2, Automation Robotics) : Radius, PGI 1240S (Taylor Hobson) : Aspherical surface coefficient. Designed a lens which had 27 mm of distance from lens rear surface to center of eye, 4 mm of pupil diameter and small aberration on center vision $30^{\circ}C$. To shorten axial distance compared with the measured lens rise merits for cosmetic. Lens Design tool was CODE V (Optical Research Associates). Results: -5.00D aspherical lens had somewhat high astigmatism and distortion compared with the spherical lens. But it had a merit for cosmetic because of short axial height and decrease edge thickness. Improved a performance of distortion and ascertain merits for cosmetic due to short axial height and decrease edge thickness same as (-) lens in case of +5.00 aspherical lens. Though an optimization process front surface aspherical lens had a good performance for astigmatism and distortion and the merit for beauty compared with measured spherical lens. Conclusions: Design trend for domestic aspherical lens is decrease axial height and thickness to increase a merit for cosmetic not but increase performance of aberration. From design theory for optimization design front surface aspherical spectacle lens which has improved performance of aberration and merit for cosmetic at the same time compared with the measured lens. Expect an improved performance from design back aspherical lens compared with front aspherical lens.

  • As consumer in optics, electronics, aerospace and electronics industry grow, the demand for ultra precision aspherical surface lens increases higher. To enhance the precision and productivity of ultra precision aspherical surface micro lens, the following specification of ultra precision grinding system is required: the highest rotational speed of the grinder is 100,000rpm and its turning accuracy is $0.1{\mu}m$, positioning accuracy is $0.1{\mu}m$. The development process of the grinding system for the ultra precision aspherical surface micro lens for optoelectronics industry is introduced. In the work reported in this paper, an intelligent grinding system for ultra precision aspherical surface machining was designed by considering the factors affecting the surface roughness and profiles accuracy. An aerostatic form was adopted to build the spindle of the workpiece and the spindle of grinder and ultra precision LM guide way was adopted in this system.

  • A null lens system of autostigmatic type, consisting of two mirrors, is designed for testing a large aspherical mirror. The system is theoretically analyzed to determine the limitation of measurement accuracy according to the manufacturing and alignment errors. We confirmed that irregularity of the null lens surface is the principal factor among tolerances in limiting measurement accuracy. Consequently, we can predict that measurement accuracy will be from 5λ/100 to 4λ/1000 according to the amount of this irregularity. That is, we can present the limitation of possible measurement accuracy with actual alignment and manufacturing errors.

  • To manufacture the lens mold used in producing polycarbonate (PC) lenses, the core manufacturing is needed and this core manufacturing is generally performed by diamond turning machine (DTM) or computer numerical control (CNC) lathe. The numerical data about the lens core feature is necessarily needed for operating of these devices. Therefore, we developed the program which calculate the numerical data about the lens core feature. The program was composed to be able to input aspherical coefficients of lens feature, display the graph of lens feature, and save the numerical data file.

  • In order to design the aspherical lens, the revisions and the steps of the mathematical method are influenced with a lot of variables. The accuracy of the aspherical lens can be changed by these variables. Besides, to design the aspherical lens, many mathematical functions should be used. To use these mathematical functions is protected by patent administration. Therefore it is very difficult for most of developed countries to use them. This fact has been interrupting not only the development of the technique of a design of the aspherical lens but also the development of the equipments of optics. Because approximate values are used in most of common programs which create the aspherical lens : basically these common programs have variations. Therefore these aspherical lens are not accurate. In the paper, we calculated accurate values by using the refractive index of lens. Based on these data, wee created self-operating design programs. Consequently, our lens is more accurate than the aspherical lens which is created by the common programs influenced with approximate values. The used programs belonging to AutoCAD is Visual LISP.

  • We design and fabricate an autostigmatic null lens system assembled in a fixed tube mount in order to evaluate the shape of an aluminum hyperbolic mirror with the diameter of 300 mm and the f-number of 1.98, which is fabricated by a high precision aspherical DTM (diamond turning machine). Also, we evaluate the degree of shape of the aspherical mirror by this autostigmatic null lens testing method. The autostigmatic null lens system assembling in a fixed tube mount has several advantages of light weight, good mechanical stability, etc. The permissible fabricating limits of null lenses and a mount are determined by considering various tolerances to assure the measurement reliability.
