Various flavonoid derivatives were previously reported to possess the inhibitory activity on cyclooxygenase/lipoxygenase. And these properties of flavonoids might contribute to their anti-inflammatory activity in vivo. In this study, several polyhydroxylated/methoxylated flavonoid derivatives such as oroxylin A. wogonin, skullcapflavone II, tectorigenin and iristectorigenin A were isolated from the medicinal plants. these compounds were evaluated fro their inhibitory effects on cyclooxygenase/lipoxygenase from the homogenate of human platelets in vitro. It was found that isoflavones including daidzein and tectorigenin possessed the inhibitory activity on cycloooxygenase, although the potency of inhibition was far less than that of indomethacin. In addition, oroxylin A, baicalein and wogonin inhibited 12-lipoxygenase activity without affecting cyclooxygenase, which suggested that 5,6,7- or 5,7,8-trisubstitutions of A-ring of flavone gave favorable results. The IC50 values of oroxylin A and NDGA against 12-lipoxygenase were found to be 100 and 1.5 uM, respectively.

Nowadays, flooding wast is serious problem to mankind and the endeavour for solving waste problem is performed in connection with environmental problem and natural resource problem. In Korea, there are a lot of movements related to reduction of waste, too. As the solution of these problems, recycling is recommanded and many kinds of recycling technique are devised. In America, military has been playing an important role in recycling area for a long time. This paper is the survey of several articles and working papers about America military's recycling research. We investigated the recycling of water, construction and demolition wastes etc. These research results are very important in real field of military. It is considered our military has to prepare this recycling problem and now it's the right time. All of these can be adapted to our military, commercial companies and civilians through some modification. We suggest that our military should cope with recycling problem more deliberately.

In this study, Pb(La Ce)$TiO_3$ composition ceramics were manufactured for 20 MHz resonator application. Electromechanical coupling factor, mechanical quality factor and dynamic range of thickness vibration mode were measured as the variations of L/T(length/thickness) ratio of ceramic substrats. Mechanical quality factor and dynamic range of third overtone thickness vibration mode showed the highest value of 2,773 and 52.22 dB at specimen S4(l/t=12), respectively. The excellent temperature stability of resonant frequency suitable for resonator application was shown, regardless of thermal shock.

Glass 물질을 첨가하여 저온소결한(Ba, Sr, Ca) TiO3 세라믹 유전체의 전기 및 기계 적 특성을 조사하였다. PbO-ZnO-B2O3 계 glass를 첨가하여 소결온도를 135$0^{\circ}C$ to 105$0^{\circ}C$ With 4wt% of glass material the sintered specimen at 115$0^{\circ}C$ for 2hrs showed a dielectric constant over 8000 with low dissipation factor. As fired ceramic capacitor satisfied the Z5U( +10~ +85$^{\circ}C$; +22% ~-56%) specifications of the EIAs. The mechanical hardness and toughness of glass reacted ceramics slightly decreased but it hows higher hardness and toughness values than Lead perovskite dielectrics.

New classes of life distributions called new better (worse) than used at age $t_0$ in Laplace transform order, NBUL- $t_0$(NWUL - $t_0$) are introduced. For the classes NBUL - $t_0$(NWUL - $t_0$), preservation under convolution, mixture, mixing and the homogeneous Poisson shock model are studied. In the sequel, we obtain a test for $H_0$ : F is exponential versus $H_1$ : F is NBUL - $t_0$ and not exponential. The critical values and the powers of this test are calculated to assess the performance of the test. It is shown that the proposed test has high efficiencies for some commonly used distributions in reliability. Sets of real data are used as examples to elucidate the use of the proposed test for practical problems.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of $HTR^{TM}$ (hard tissue replacement, Bioplant Inc, U.S.A) polymer on short-term healing as a grafting material for alveolar ridge augmentation. A 48-year-old female presented insufficient bone height and width for the placement of implants. $HTR^{TM}$ polymer was used for ridge augmentation. Bone biopsy was harvested 8 months after the ridge augmentation procedure. $HTR^{TM}$ polymer displayed rapid bone regeneration and mature lamellar and trabecular bone redevelopment. Clinical and histologic observation from the treatment of the patient presented suggest that $HTR^{TM}$ polymer seems to be a appropriate material for alveolar ridge augmentation.

15-Hydroxyeicosatetraenoic acid (HETE), as a mammalian biologically active metabolite, has anticarcinogenic effect. The conditions of producing 15-HETE from arachidonic acid by using soybean lipoxygenase were optimal at pH 8.5 and $20^{\circ}C$ with 9 g/l arachidonic acid, 54.4 U/ml soybean lipoxygenase, and 4% methanol. Under these optimized conditions, the enzyme produced 9.5 g/l 15-HETE after 25 min, with a molar conversion yield of 99% and a productivity of $22.8gl^{-1}h^{-1}$. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first biotechnological production of 15-HETE.

For the establishment of simpler and more reliable methods for the diagnosis of Brucellosis, diagnostic antigen for Milk Ring Test (M.R.T.) was prepared according to working document recommended by Ministry of Agriculture U.S.A., and applied in the field for the test of its's applicability. The results are summarized as follows. 1. Of fifty two dairy cattle ranches in the vicinity of Seoul, five ranges were shown positive reaction to M.R.T. 2. Even though one volume of positive milk was mixed with five to ten volumes of negative milk, the positive reactions were also observed. 3. Antigenicity of the antigen was maintained without deteriolation for 13 months at $5^{\circ}C$ and three months at both $22^{\circ}C$ and $37^{\circ}C$. 4. Three positive cows to M.R.T. were also shown suspective reaction by Serum Agglutination Test.

The alginate degrading bacteria have been screened from the marine environment. Sodium alginate and NaCl were required for cell growth and enzyme production of 145-C strain and the adequate concentrations were 0.7 and 2.5%, respectively. The effective nitrogen source was peptone and adequate temperature was 28$\pm$2$^{\circ}C$. The 145-C strain was identified as Vibrio sp. from biochemical and biological experiment. The extracellular enzyme produced by Vibrio sp. was purified and the molecular weight was estimated to be 27, 000.

One of the well known results in general topology says that every compact subset of a Hausdorff space is closed. This result in soft topology is not true in general as demonstrated throughout this note. We begin this investigation by showing that [Theorem 3.34, p.p.23] which proposed by Varol and $Ayg{\ddot{u}}n$ [7] is invalid in general, by giving a counterexample. Then we derive under what condition this result can be generalized in soft topology. Finally, we evidence that [Example 3.22, p.p. 20] which introduced in [7] is false, and we make a correction for this example to satisfy a condition of soft Hausdorffness.
