To improve the recognition accuracy of a developed artificial odor discrimination system for three mixture fragrance recognition, Fuzzy Similarity based Self-Organized Network inspired by Immune Algorithm (F-SONIA) is proposed. Minimum, average, and maximum values of fragrance data acquisitions are used to form triangular fuzzy numbers. Then the fuzzy similarity treasure is used to define the relationship between fragrance inputs and connection strengths of hidden units. The fuzzy similarity is defined as the maximum value of the intersection region between triangular fuzzy set of input vectors and the connection strengths of hidden units. In experiments, performances of the proposed method is compared with the conventional Self-Organized Network inspired by Immune Algorithm (SONIA), and the Fuzzy Learning Vector Quantization (FLVQ). Experiments show that F-SONIA improves recognition accuracy of SONIA by 3-9%. Comparing to the previously developed artificial odor discrimination system that used FLVQ as pattern classifier, the recognition accuracy is increased by 14-25%.

This paper proposes a Distributed Autonomous Robotic System(AIS) based on Artificial Immune System(AIS) and Distributed Genetic Algorithm(DGA). The behaviors of robots in the system are divided into global behaviors and local behaviors. The global behaviors are actions to search tasks in environment. These actions are composed of two types: dispersion and aggregation. AIS decides one among above two actions, which robot should select and act on in the global. The local behaviors are actions to execute searched tasks. The robots learn the cooperative actions in these behaviors by the DGA in the local. The proposed system is more adaptive than the existing system at the viewpoint that the robots learn and adapt the changing of tasks.

According to revealing the DNA sequence of human and living things, it increases that a demand on a new computational processing method which utilizes DNA sequence information. In this paper we propose a classification algorithm based on negative selection of the immune system to classify DNA patterns. Negative selection is the process to determine an antigenic receptor that recognize antigens, nonself cells. The immune cells use this antigen receptor to judge whether a self or not. If one composes n group of antigenic receptor for n different patterns, they can classify into n patterns. In this paper we propose a pattern classification algorithm based on negative selection in nucleotide base level and amino acid level.

Immune-inspired intrusion detection is a promising technology for network security, and well known for its diversity, adaptation, self-tolerance, etc. However, scalability and coverage are two major drawbacks of the immune-inspired intrusion detection systems (IIDSes). In this paper, we propose an IIDS framework, named GEP-IIDS, with improved basic system elements to address these two problems. First, an additional bio-inspired technique, gene expression programming (GEP), is introduced in detector (corresponding to detection rules) representation. In addition, inspired by the avidity model of immunology, new avidity/affinity functions taking the priority of attributes into account are given. Based on the above two improved elements, we also propose a novel immune algorithm that is capable of integrating two bio-inspired mechanisms (i.e., negative selection and positive selection) by using a balance factor. Finally, a pruning algorithm is given to reduce redundant detectors that consume footprint and detection time but do not contribute to improving performance. Our experimental results show the feasibility and effectiveness of our solution to handle the scalability and coverage problems of IIDS.

In this paper, we propose a method of cooperative control (T-cell modeling) and selection of group behavior strategy (B-cell modeling) based on immune system in distributed autonomous robotic system (DARS). Immune system is living body's self-protection and self-maintenance system. These features can be applied to decision making of optimal swarm behavior in dynamically changing environment. For applying immune system to DARS, a robot is regarded as a ?3-cell, each environmental condition as an antigen, a behavior strategy as an antibody and control parameter as a T-cell respectively. When the environmental condition (antigen) changes, a robot selects an appropriate behavior strategy (antibody). And its behavior strategy is stimulated and suppressed by other robot using communication (immune network). Finally much stimulated strateby is adopted as a swarm behavior strategy. This control scheme is based on clonal selection and immune network hypothesis, and it is used for decision making of optimal swarm strategy. Adaptation ability of robot is enhanced by adding T-cell model as a control parameter in dynamic environments.

The trial and success of malicious cyber attacks has been increased rapidly with spreading of Internet and the activation of a internet shopping mall and the supply of an online, or an offline internet, so it is expected to make a problem more and more. The goal of intrusion detection is to identify unauthorized use, misuse, and abuse of computer systems by both system insiders and external penetrators in real time. In fact, the general security system based on Internet couldn't cope with the attack properly, if ever. other regular systems have depended on common vaccine softwares to cope with the attack. But in this paper, we will use the positive selection and negative selection mechanism of T-cell, which is the biologically distributed autonomous system, to develop the self/nonself recognition algorithm and AIS (Artificial Immune System) that is easy to be concrete on the artificial system. For making it come true, we will apply AIS to the network environment, which is a computer security system.

This paper presents an artificial life algorithm which is remarkable in the area of engineering for functions optimization. As artificial life organisms have a sensing system, they can find the resource which they want to find and metabolize. And the characteristics of artificial life are emergence and dynamic interaction with environment. In other words, the micro-interaction with each other in the artificial lifes group results in emergent colonization in the whole system. In this paper, therefore, artificial life algorithm by using above characteristics is employed into functions optimization. The optimizing ability and convergent characteristics of this proposed algorithm is verified by using three test functions. The numerical results also show that the proposed algorithm is superior to genetic algorithms and immune algorithms for the multimodal functions.

Routing in mobile wireless sensor networks (MWSNs) is an extremely challenging issue due to the features of MWSNs. In this paper, we present a novel bio-inspired trusted routing protocol (B-iTRP) based on artificial immune system (AIS), ant colony optimization (ACO) and Physarum optimization (PO). For trust mechanism, B-iTRP monitors neighbors' behavior in real time and then assesses neighbors' trusts based on AIS. For routing strategy, each node proactively finds routes to the Sink based on ACO. When a backward ant is on the way to return source, it senses the energy residual and trust value of each node on the discovered route, and calculates the link trust and link energy of the route. Moreover, B-iTRP also assesses the availability of route based on PO to maintain the route table. Simulation results show how B-iTRP can achieve the effective performance compared to existing state-of-the-art algorithms.

This paper deals with a fuzzy controller using IA(Immune Algorithm) for Trajectory Tracking of 2-DOF WMR(Wheeled Mobile Robot). The global inputs to the WMR are reference position and reference velocity, which are time variables. The global output of WMR is a current position. The tracking controller makes position error to be converged 0. In order to reduce position error, a compensation velocities on the track of trajectory is necessary. Therefore, a FIAC(Fuzzy-IA controller) is proposed to give velocity compensation in this system. Input variables of fuzzy part are position errors in every sampling time. The output values of fuzzy part are compensation velocities. IA are implemented to adjust the scaling factor of fuzzy part. The computer simulation is performed to get the result of trajectory tracking and to prove efficiency of proposed controller.
