Exploring the Educational Use of Artificial Intelligence based on R mapping - Focusing on Foreign Publication Analysis Results - (R 매핑을 이용한 인공지능의 교육적 활용 탐색 -국외 문헌 분석을 중심으로-)

  • There is a growing interest and need for the educational use of artificial intelligence as artificial intelligence technologies such as machine learning and deep learning, the core technologies of the intelligent information society, owing to the recent innovative technological advances. Consequently, the Ministry of Education announced the First Information Education Comprehensive Plan for introducing artificial intelligence competence enhancing education into the education field in preparation for the intelligent information society based on artificial intelligence technologies. Therefore, this study collected 416 overseas papers related to the educational use of artificial intelligence from the Web of Science (WoS) in order to explore the potential for using artificial intelligence educationally. This study analyzed the research status and research topic by country, citation counts, network analysis on keywords of the collected data by using the bibliometrix package of R program. Through this, it was possible to identify the research trend on the educational use of artificial intelligence, currently being conducted in foreign countries. It is believed that it will be possible to obtain implications for the topics and directions to be studied in the information education for strengthening artificial intelligence education based on the results of this study.

Development and Application of Data Collection Education Programs for Lower Grades in Elementary School Students (초등학교 저학년을 위한 데이터 수집 교육 프로그램 개발 및 적용)

  • The need for artificial intelligence education has emerged, and countries around the world are announcing artificial intelligence strategies. Artificial intelligence education is reflected in the main points of the 2022 revised curriculum general published in Korea. Along with this interest, programs related to artificial intelligence education are being developed, but it is difficult to find artificial intelligence programs for lower grades of elementary school. This study aims to develop a data collection education program for the lower grades of elementary school through a series of analysis-design-development-application-evaluation processes and apply it to first-grade elementary school students to verify its effectiveness. Through the developed program, it is expected that students will be able to understand and feel interested in artificial intelligence, and develop an attitude of collecting data in their daily lives through the process of searching for various types of data in their daily lives.

  • With the development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology, discussions on the use of artificial intelligence are actively taking place in many fields, and various policies for nurturing artificial intelligence talents are being promoted in the field of education. In this study, we propose a robot programming framework using artificial intelligence technology, and based on this, we use Python, which is used frequently in the machine learning field, and an educational robot that is highly utilized in the field of education to provide artificial intelligence. (AI) education program was proposed. The level of autonomous driving (levels 0-5) suggested by the International Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) is simplified to four levels, and based on this, the camera attached to the robot recognizes and detects lines (objects). The goal was to make a line detector that can move by itself. The developed program is not a standardized form of solving a given problem by simply using a specific programming language, but has the experience of defining complex and unstructured problems in life autonomously and solving them based on artificial intelligence (AI) technology. It is meaningful.

Keyword Network Analysis and Topic Modeling of News Articles Related to Artificial Intelligence and Nursing (인공지능과 간호에 관한 언론보도 기사의 키워드 네트워크 분석 및 토픽 모델링)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the main keywords, network properties, and main topics of news articles related to artificial intelligence technology in the field of nursing. Methods: After collecting artificial intelligence-and nursing-related news articles published between January 1, 1991, and July 24, 2022, keywords were extracted via preprocessing. A total of 3,267 articles were searched, and 2,996 were used for the final analysis. Text network analysis and topic modeling were performed using NetMiner 4.4. Results: As a result of analyzing the frequency of appearance, the keywords used most frequently were education, medical robot, telecom, dementia, and the older adults living alone. Keyword network analysis revealed the following results: a density of 0.002, an average degree of 8.79, and an average distance of 2.43; the central keywords identified were 'education,' 'medical robot,' and 'fourth industry.' Five topics were derived from news articles related to artificial intelligence and nursing: 'Artificial intelligence nursing research and development in the health and medical field,' 'Education using artificial intelligence for children and youth care,' 'Nursing robot for older adults care,' 'Community care policy and artificial intelligence,' and 'Smart care technology in an aging society.' Conclusion: The use of artificial intelligence may be helpful among the local community, older adult, children, and adolescents. In particular, health management using artificial intelligence is indispensable now that we are facing a super-aging society. In the future, studies on nursing intervention and development of nursing programs using artificial intelligence should be conducted.

  • This paper deals with AI education service that enables developers who have completed basic programming education to program in C/C++ language in order to learn big data and artificial intelligence. In addition, a customized development environment configuration system according to the development environment and how the user implements and tests artificial intelligence are explained. And also it has a function to check the effect on artificial intelligence through manipulation of various internal parameters. It is expected that it will be possible to develop artificial intelligence education services without language restrictions through networks in the future.

  • Changes in modern society are resulting in the emergence of various service models that apply software and artificial intelligence, and all fields are rapidly changing based on software and artificial intelligence. Education on software and artificial intelligence is emerging as a major influencing factor that determines national competitiveness. Following these social changes, interest in the use of software and artificial intelligence is quite high. Starting in 2025, software and artificial intelligence-related curricula are scheduled to be introduced into public education in elementary, middle, and high schools, so many educational activities are becoming active. In this study, based on the content of operating the software and artificial intelligence experience activity program, we would like to propose the efficiency of future learning programs and operating methods for software and artificial intelligence.

Development of Artificial Intelligence Education based Convergence Education Program for Classifying of Reptiles and Amphibians (파충류와 양서류 분류를 위한 인공지능 교육 기반의 융합 교육 프로그램 개발)

  • In this study, a transdisciplinary convergence education program was developed to enhance the understanding for classification of reptiles and amphibians in biology education and also to increase AI (Artificial Intelligence) capability by using artificial intelligence education. The main content is to solve the classification of reptiles and amphibians that has been dealt with for a long time in biology education, using a decision tree and ML4K (Machine Learnig for Kids), it was designed for a total of 3 lessons. Experts review was conducted on the developed education program, as a result, the I-CVI(Item Content Validity Index) value was .88~1.00 so that can secure content validity. This education program has the advantage of being able to simultaneously learn about the learning contents of artificial intelligence in informatics and the classification of vertebrates in the biological education. In addition, since it is configured to minimize the cognitive load in the AI using part, it is characterized by the fact that all of any teachers can apply it their lesson easily.

  • The interest in artificial intelligence education in education is also high based on recent social interest in artificial intelligence. Accordingly, Korea is preparing a foothold for revitalizing artificial intelligence education in the future, such as announcing an artificial intelligence education plan by expanding from software (SW) education that has become a regular curriculum after the 2015 revised curriculum, and various studies are being conducted. However, research on the curriculum related to what and how to educate in artificial intelligence education is still in its infancy and further research is needed. A look at related research shows many similarities and differences in research related to domestic and foreign AI curriculum, because there are differences in the areas and content elements that each research focuses on. Therefore, in this study, in preparation for the future independence of the information subject and the formalization of AI education, literature studies on domestic and foreign AI curriculum are conducted, and based on this, the direction of the curriculum composition for elementary school AI education is to be explored.

The Effect of AI Experience Program Using Teachable Machine on AI Perception of Elementary School Students (Teachable machine을 활용한 인공지능 체험 프로그램이 초등학생의 인공지능 인식에 미치는 영향)

  • Artificial intelligence is at the heart of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Education must change in order to develop the capabilities necessary for future AI-based societies. This study developed and applied artificial intelligence experience classes using Teachable machine to elementary school students, and analyzed changes in artificial intelligence understanding and interest among students. Among the 10 artificial intelligence classes, 4 classes used various artificial intelligence education platforms, and 6 classes focused on Teachable machines. Before and after the application of the program, students' interest and understanding in artificial intelligence were examined. Quantitative and qualitative studies were conducted together. Studies have shown that both students' interest and understanding of artificial intelligence has improved since the application of the program. Furthermore, based on the findings, we propose a follow-up study for the development of artificial intelligence training programs.

Changes in attitudes and efficacy of AI learners according to the level of programming skill and project interest in AI project (AI 프로젝트 수업에서 프로그래밍 언어 활용 수준 및 프로젝트 흥미에 따른 AI에 대한 태도 및 효능감 변화)

  • While artificial intelligence (AI) is attracting attention as a core technology in the era of the 4th industrial revolution, needs for artificial intelligence education to cultivate AI literacy is emerging. In this regard, we developed and applied a project-based AI education program for elementary and middle school students, and analyzed its effects. Participants were assigned into teams with three members, and each team engaged in a project-based AI education program for two nights and three days. In the project, they selected an real-world problem they wanted and devised an AI-enabled artifact to solve it. The effectiveness of the program was investigated with the changes in attitude and efficacy of learners toward artificial intelligence. The results showed that the AI project learning positively changed both attitudes and efficacy toward artificial intelligence at a statistically significant level. This change was more pronounced as the level of perceived programming skills increased, and the level of interest in the project learning increased.
