사철쑥 (Artemisia capillaris Thunberg)의 영양성분 분석 (The analysis of Nutrients in Artemisia capillaris Thunberg)

  • 약용으로 많이 쓰이고 있는 사철쑥(Artemisia capillaris Thunberg)의 다양한 이용도를 높이고자 일반성분과 영양성분을 분석함으로써 다양한 영양성분분석 자료를 제시하고자 한다. 사철쑥의 성분은 조단백질 14.12%, 조지방 4.80%, 조회분 2.30%, 조섬유소 8.10%이었으며, 무기질 함량은 K 3295.02 mg%, P2787.01 mg%, Ca 1436.01 mg%, Mg 172.32 mg%, Fe 21.23 mg%, Mn 18.02 mg%, Na 8.11 mg%, Cu 1.24 mg%, Sn 0.002 mg%이었고, 비타민은 $\beta$-carotene 18602.00 mg%, ascorbic acid 5.82 mg%이 었다. 사철쑥에서 가장 많이함유되 어 있는 지방산은 oleic acid( $C_{18:1}$)로 23.86%였으며, 포화지방산이 46.67%, 단일불포화지방산이 33.40%, 다가불포화지방산이 19.83%, P/S는0.42로 나타났다. 20여종의 아미노산이 검출된 사철쑥의 총아미노산 함량은 1345.29 mg%이고, 아미노산 중 proline, tyrosine, asparagine, glutamic acid 및 valine이 각각 438.58 mg%, 310.20 mg%, 120.30 mg%, 118.66 mg%, 88.02 mg%으로 79.95%를 차지하며, 필수아미노산은 176.83 mg%으로 13.11% 함유되어 있었다. 이상의 결과는 사철쑥은 일반성분, 무기질, 비타민 및 지방산, 아미노산 등이 다양하게 함유되어 있다. 이는 사철쑥이 식품으로서 영양적 가치가 있는 것으로 사료된다.다.

인진쑥 추출물을 첨가하여 제조한 식혜의 품질 특성 및 항산화 활성 (Quality Characteristics and Antioxidant Activities of Sikhye Added with Artemisia capillaris Extracts)

  • 본 연구는 인진쑥 추출물의 함량을 달리 첨가한 식혜의 저장기간 중 이화학적 품질 특징 및 항산화 효과를 알아보고자 하였다. 인진쑥 추출물을 달리하여 식혜를 제조한 후 15일 동안 저장하면서 측정한 품질 특성을 측정하였다. 식혜의 초기 당도는 인진쑥 추출물을 첨가하지 않은 대조군의 당도가 실험군보다 높았으며, 각 시료에서는 저장기간에 따른 당도는 크게 변화하지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 대조군보다 인진쑥 추출물을 첨가한 실험군의 pH가 비교적 높은 것으로 나타났고, 대조군과 실험군 모두에서 저장기간이 길어짐에 따라 pH가 크게 낮아지지 않고 초기 pH를 유지하거나 다소 증가하는 경향을 보였다. 탁도는 저장기간이 길어짐에 따라 모든 시료에서 증가하였고, 인진쑥 추출물 함량이 증가할수록 탁도가 높게 나타났다. 색도는 명도($L^*$값)은 대조군보다 인진쑥 추출물을 100% 첨가한 시료가 낮게 측정됐지만, 적색도($a^*$값), 황색도($b^*$값)에 있어서 저장기간 중 적색도가 증가한 원인은 저장기간 중 당의 갈변화 현상으로 생각한다. 식혜에 함유된 유리당으로는 sucrose와 maltose가 확인되었고, maltose는 엿기름이 당화 과정에서 아밀라아제에 의해 생성되었고, sucrose는 식혜 제조 시 첨가한 설탕에서 기인한 것으로 생각한다. 총폴리페놀과 총플라보노이드, 항산화 활성 DPPH와 ABTS 라디칼 소거 활성을 통해 살펴본 항산화 활성은 인진쑥 추출물 첨가량이 증가함에 따라 높게 나타남을 확인하였다. 관능검사 결과 색과 맛에 대한 선호도는 인진쑥 추출물을 50% 첨가한 시료의 만족도가 가장 높았다. 전반적인 선호도는 인진쑥 추출물을 50% 첨가한 시료가 가장 높게 나타났다. 이상의 결과를 종합해볼 때 식혜에 인진쑥 추출물을 첨가할 때는 50% 수준에서 첨가하는 것이 색, 맛, 밥알의 퍼짐성 및 전반적인 만족도를 높일 수 있을 것으로 생각한다.

Suppression of Primary Splenocyte Proliferation by Artemisia capillaris and Its Components

  • The host immune system is the first line of host defense, consisting mainly of innate and adaptive immunity. Immunity must be maintained, orchestrated, and harmonized, since overactivation of immune responses can lead to inflammation and autoimmune diseases, while immune deficiency can lead to infectious diseases. We investigated the regulation of innate and adaptive immune cell activation by Artemisia capillaris and its components (ursolic acid, hyperoside, scopoletin, and scopolin). Macrophage phagocytic activity was determined using fluorescently labeled Escherichia coli, as an indicator of innate immune activation. Concanavalin A (ConA)- and lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced splenocyte proliferation was analyzed as surrogate markers for cellular and humoral adaptive immunity, respectively. Neither A. capillaris water extract (WAC) nor ethanol extract (EAC) greatly inhibited macrophage phagocytic activity. In contrast, WAC suppressed ConA- and LPS-induced proliferation of primary mouse splenocytes in a dose-dependent manner. Similarly, EAC inhibited ConA- and LPS-induced splenocyte proliferation. Oral administration of WAC in mice decreased ConA- and LPS-induced splenocyte proliferation, while that of EAC suppressed LPS-induced splenocyte proliferation. Repeated administration of WAC in mice inhibited ConA- and LPS-induced splenocyte proliferation. Ursolic acid, scopoletin, and scopolin reduced ConA- and LPS-induced primary mouse splenocyte proliferation, while hyperoside did not show such activity. These results indicate that A. capillaris and its components, ursolic acid, scopoletin, and scopolin, suppress ConA- and LPS-induced adaptive immune cell activation. The results suggest that A. capillaris is useful as a regulator of adaptive immunity for diseases involving excessive immune response activation.

  • One of my administrational patient had the disease of liver cirrhosis with cerebrovascular hemorrhage simultaneously. so we investigated the process of cureness in detail. In the investigational method, at the day of onset the patient was administered the sunghyangjunggisan(星香正氣散) for 4 days. hyelbuchugatanggamibang(血府逐瘀湯加味方) for 7 days, the day after saengganggunbitang(生肝建脾湯) and the extracts of Artemisia capillaris(茵蔯), Alisma plantago(澤瀉) were took for 17 days. So we searched the attentioanable results in the Biochemistry. Brain CT, Sonogram. Abdominal CT, and the decrease of self symptom. In the results we recognized that the patient was improved in the LFT, the smaller portal vein, the resolving of hemorrhage, the decrease of self symptom etc.

Dimethyl-esculetin이 Carbon-tetrachloride 부하가토혈청 Transaminase 활성도에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Dimethyl-esculetin on the Serum Transaminase Activity of Rabbit Pretreated with Carbon-tetrachloride)

  • Antihepatotoxic effect of dimethyl-esculetin, the major constituent of herbal drug Artemisia capillaris $T_{HUNBERG}$ (Compositae) which has long been used as folk medicine for gall stone and hepatitis in Asian country (China and Japan, except Korea) was investigated on the rabbit intoxicated with carbon-tetrachloride. Ten rabbits were divided into two parts, group A and B in five each. The group A was injected with carbon-tetrachloride, 0.1ml per kg at begining of the experiments for control. The group B was injected with carbon-tetrachloride soon after 7 days treatment of dimethyl-esculetin, 30mg per day. The results obtained in this experiment were as follows.: 1) Antihepatotoxic activity of dimethyl esuletin on the rabbits intoxicated with carbon tetrachloride has shown the serum glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase activity and serum glutamic pyruvic transaminase activity decreased respectively. 2) The component of Artemisia capillaris, dimethyl-esculetin, has shown remarkable antihepatotoxic effect.

인진호가 Hep G2 세포에서 에탄올 매개성 Cytokine 분비에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Artemisia Capillaris Herba on Ethanol-Induced Cytokines(TNF-${\alpha},IL-1{\alpha}$) Secretion in Hep G2 Cells)

  • A human hepatoma cell line, Hep G2 cells, is reliable for the study of alcohol-induced hepatotoxicity. The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between TNF-${\alpha}$, IL-$1{\alpha}$ production and EtOH-induced cytotoxicity on Hep G2 cells. The cells were incubated with EtOH in the presence of Artemisia Capillaris Herba(AC) for 24 hours and in the absence of AC for 48 hours. Cytoviability and cytokines release were analyzed by MTT assay and enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), respectively. After 24 hours of EtOH exposure, the cytoviability had markedly decreased, and the release of cytokines had increased. The increased amount of cytokines contributed to EtOH-induced cytotoxicity. Anti-TNF-${\alpha}$ and IL-$1{\alpha}$ antibodies almost abolished it. Interestingly, EtOH-induced cytotoxicity and cytokines production were inhibited by AC. Moreover, when AC was used in combination with antibodies, there was a marked inhibition of EtOH-induced cytotoxicity. These results suggest that EtOH-induced cytotoxicity may regulate, by various factors, and AC may prevent the cytotoxicity through partial inhibition of the $TNF-{\alpha}$ and IL-$1{\alpha}$ secretion.
