ML-Based Angle-of-arrival Estimation of a Parametric Source

  • In angle of arrival estimation, the direction of a signal is usually assumed to be a point. If the direction of a signal is distributed due to some reasons in real surroundings, however, angle of arrival estimation techniques based on the point source assumption may result in poor performance. In this paper, we consider angle of arrival estimation when the signal sources are distributed. A parametric source model is proposed, and the estimation techniques based on the well-known maximum likelihood technique is considered under the model. In addition, Various statistical properties of the estimation errors were obtained.

AN INTERPOLATION APPROXIMATION VIA SIMULATION ON A QUEUEING NETWORK

  • In this paper we consider open queueing system with a Poisson arrival process which have a finite upper bound on the arrival rate for which the system is stable. Interpolation approximations for quantities of interest, such as moments of the sojourn time distribution, have previously been developed for such systems, utilizing exact light and heavy traffic limits. These limits cannot always be easily computed for complex systems. Thus we consider an interpolation approximation where all of the relevant information is estimated via simulation. We show that all the relevant information can in fact be simultaneously estimated in a single regenerative simulation at any arrival rate. In addition to light and heavy traffic limits, both the quantity of interest and its derivative (with respect to the arrival rate) are estimated at the arrival rate of the simulation. All of the estimates are then combined, using a least squares procedure, to provide an interpolation approximation.

  • There are several methods of measuring position. For example GPS, AOA, TDOA and using radio camera. In this Paper I used TDOA method in position measuring system. TDOA method uses arrival time difference. In position measuring system, three transfers which is placed in different position transfer signal to receiver in fixed time interval and receiver records arrival time of signal. Because receiver knows idle signal's arrival time, receiver can calculate the difference of the signal's arrival time between idle and real. When we obtain time difference we can know the receiver position by Newton Raphson method.

  • 연구의 목적은 콘크리트 결함 발견을 위하여 탄성파를 사용하여 구조물의 속도전파 단면도를 영상화시키고 그 결과를 분석하고자 하였다. 탄성파의 전파 양상을 유한요소법을 이용하여 이론모형에서 계산하고, 그 이론을 실험실의 구조물 모형에 적용하여 토모그램을 작성하였다. 또한 초동 주시를 5개 단계로 선택하여 역산을 행하였으며 계산된 탄성파 속도전파 단면도를 비교하여 가장 편리하고 정확한 초동주시 발췌법을 제시하였으며, 이러한 초동주시에 의해서 모형실험을 행하였다.

MARKOVIAN EARLY ARRIVAL DISCRETE TIME JACKSON NETWORKS

  • In an earlier work, we investigated the problem of using linear programming to bound performance measures in a discrete time Jackson network. There it was assumed that the system evolution is controlled by the early arrival scheme. This assumption implies that the system can't be modelled by a Markov chain. This problem was resolved and performance bounds were calculated. In the present work, we use a modification of the early arrival scheme (without corrupting it) in order to make the system evolves as a Markov chain. This modification enables us to obtain explicit expressions for certain moments that could not be calculated explicitly in the pure early arrival scheme setting. Moreover, this feature implies a reduction in the linear program size as well as the computation time. In addition, we obtained tighter bounds than those appeared before due to the new setting.

  • To estimate sound direction of arrival with a pair of microphones, a method based on Time Difference of Arrival (TDOA) estimation using the Cross Power Spectrum Phase (CPSP) function is largely used due to its simplicity and good performance. In this paper, we investigate CPSP maximum values for various SNRs and adverse environments, and propose a novel method to improve the estimation performance of sound direction of arrival. The proposed method applies a threshold to the CPSP values and increases the reliability of the estimated sound direction. Through computer simulation for various SNRs, we validate the effectiveness of the proposed method. When the threshold was set to 0.1, more than 90% of success rate of sound direction of arrival estimation has been achieved for directions of $10^{\circ}$, $40^{\circ}$, $70^{\circ}$ from the source location even with reverberation times of 0.1s.

  • In this study the cell arrival processes from pre-buffer into multiplexer for MPEG(Motion Picture Experts Group) coding video sources are analyzed with consideration of the traffic periodicity in frame level. The analysis is performed by introducing the two arrival models, that is, periodic on/off source model and periodic uniform arrival model. Modulated $N^*D$/D/1 queueing system is utilized in periodic on/off source model, while ${\Sigma}{N_i}^*D_i$/D/1 queueing system is used in periodic uniform arrival model. The presented models are validated by comparing with computer simulations. Numerical results for periodic uniform arrival model are shown to be very accurate, but those of periodic on/off source model are shown to be inaccurate as the number of sources are increased.

인천공항 입국장 면세점 도입에 따른 경제적 효과 분석 (Economic Effects of Incheon International Airport Arrival Duty-Free Shops)

  • This study analyzes the economic effect of introducing the arrival duty - free shop at Incheon International Airport. Based on the estimated sales of KRW 127 billion for the duty-free shop at the port of entry, the international balance of payments was estimated at KRW 55.5 billion. Job creation was estimated at 530, including direct and indirect workforce. With the admission of arrival duty-free shops, duty-free shops in the airline are likely to see a decline in sales, helping to improve monopoly structure on the market structure side. It is expected that the rental income generated through the operation of the arrival duty-free shop will be used as a resource for social contribution activities, creating additional social economic effects.

연속강하운용을 이용한 궤적 기반의 항공기 도착 관리 효과 분석 연구 (A Study on Effect Analysis of Trajectory-Based Arrival Management using Continuous Descent Operations)

  • In this study, we propose trajectory-based arrival management using CDO (Continuos Descent Operations). The operational procedures with TBO (Trajectory-Based Operations) concept were established to allow aircraft and ground system to share the trajectories with each other in real time. The proposed operational concept was validated in the air traffic control simulation environment, which consists of controller working position, pseudo pilot system, air traffic generation system, and controllers' decision support system for arrival management using CDO. Simulation results compared with actual flight data indicate that proposed concept could improve the efficiency of traffic flow management in terms of total descending time and fuel consumption. And it was confirmed that if there is a system that can share and utilize the synchronized trajectory, it can be helpful to control arrival aircraft and apply CDO concept.

광대역 ISDN의 트래픽 성능분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Performance Analysis of Broadband ISDN Traffic)

  • 본 논문에서는 멀티미디어 트래픽올 갖는 B-ISBN의 스위치/멀티플렉서 등에서 중요한 파라메타로 결정되는 버퍼 크기에 대한 트래픽의 성능을 분석하였다. 멀티미디어 트래픽은 포아송 분포 트래픽, 그리고 기하분포와 지수 분포의 ON 시간 주기 (버스트 분포)를 갖는 버 스트 트래픽이 혼합되는 트래픽으로 모델링 하였다. 멀티미디어 트래픽으로 모델링한 트래픽에 대해서 성능을 분석하고 양질의 서비스를 제공할 수 있는 셀손실률에 대한 버퍼의 크기를 제시 하였다. 시뮬레이션은 PC SIMSCRIPT II.5를 이용하였고 시뮬레이션 프로그램은 PREAMBLE, MAIN, INITIAL, ARRIVAL., DEPARTURE및 STOP·SIM의 모듈로 구성하였다. 특히 혼합된 트래픽의 시뮬레이션에서는 ARRIVAL모듈을 I, II로 나누고 셀을 각각의 모듈에서 독립적으로 발생시켜 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다. 시뮬레이션 모델링은 이벤트 스케줄링 (Event Scheduling) 방식을 적용하여 시행하였다.
