  • It has been one of the critical issues that the researchers properly evaluate the fishing rights foregone by the coastal development activities like wetland reclamation. Particularly, estimating the productivity of concerned fishing rights is known to play a significant role in their monetary compensation. As a result, this paper attempts to develop a statistical model characterized by Cobb-Douglas production function in conjunction with the fisheries' productivity estimation. The primary hypotheses involving their statistical production function are as below : 1. The quantity of fisheries production is hypothesized to be expressed as a function of capital (K) and labor(L) put into fishing activities. 2. The estimated parameters of K and L are hypothesized to satisfy the conventional condition of production function as a form of Cobb-Douglas. These statistical tests reveal that the shellfish farming productivity heavily depends on the acre of mariculture while the input of labor force also considerably affects its productivity. In case of the fixed net fishing productivity, both the factors of capital and labor similarly affect the marginal change in its productivity. En addition, the productivity of shellfish (arming turns out to follow the increasing returns to scale, whereas that of fixed net fishing comes up with the decreasing returns to scale.

  • Shortwave radiation and sunshine hours (SHOUR) are important variables having many applications, including crop growth. However, observational data for these variables have low horizontal resolution, rendering its application to related research and decision making on f arming practices challenging. In the present study, hourly solar radiation data were physically generated using the Land-Atmosphere Modeling Package (LAMP) at the National Center f or Agro-Meteorology, and then daily SHOUR fields were calculated through statistical downscaling. After data quality evaluation, including case studies, the SHOUR data were added to the existing publically accessible LAMP daily database. The LAMP daily dataset, newly updated with SHOUR, has been provided operationally as input data to the "Gyeonggi-do Agricultural Drought Prediction System," which predicts agricultural weather disasters and field crop growth status.

  • A military aircraft generally includes external stores such as fuel tanks or external arming, depending on the purpose of the operation. When a store is dropped from a military aircraft at high subsonic, transonic, or supersonic speeds, the aerodynamic forces and moments acting on the store can be sufficient to send the store back into contact with the aircraft. This can cause damage to the aircraft and endanger the life of the crew. In this study, time accurate computational fluid dynamics (CFD) with dynamic moving grid (moving and deformable mesh, MDM) technique has been used to accurately calculate store trajectories. For the verification of the present numerical approach, a wind tunnel test model for the wing-pylon-finned store configuration has been considered and analyzed. The comparison results for the ejected store trajectories between the present numerical analysis and the wind tunnel test data at the Mach number of 0.95 and 1.2 are presented. It is also importantly shown that the numerical parameter of MDM technique gives significant effect for the calculated store trajectory in the low-supersonic flow such as Mach 1.2.

  • The RT(Robot Technology) has been developed as the next generation of a future technology. According to the 2002 technical report from Mitsubishi R&D center, IT(Information Technology) and RT(Robotic Technology) fusion system will grow five times larger than the current IT market at the year 2015. Moreover, a recent IEEE report predicts that most people will have a robot in the next ten years. RCP(Robotic Cellular Phone), CP(Cellular Phone) having personal robot services, will be an intermediate hi-tech personal machine between one CP a person and one robot a person generations. RCP infra consists of $RCP^{Mobility}$, $RCP^{Interaction}$, $RCP^{Integration}$ technologies. For $RCP^{Mobility}$, human-friendly motion automation and personal service with walking and arming ability are developed. $RCP^{Interaction}$ ability is achieved by modeling an emotion-generating engine and $RCP^{Integration}$ that recognizes environmental and self conditions is developed. By joining intelligent algorithms and CP communication network with the three base modules, a RCP system is constructed. Especially, the RCP interaction system is really focused in this paper. The $RCP^{interaction}$(Robotic Cellular Phone for Interaction) is to be developed as an emotional model CP as shown in figure 1. $RCP^{interaction}$ refers to the sensitivity expression and the link technology of communication of the CP. It is interface technology between human and CP through various emotional models. The interactive emotion functions are designed through differing patterns of vibrator beat frequencies and a feeling system created by a smell injection switching control. As the music influences a person, one can feel a variety of emotion from the vibrator's beats, by converting musical chord frequencies into vibrator beat frequencies. So, this paper presents the definition, the basic theory and experiment results of the RCP interaction system. We confirm a good performance of the RCP interaction system through the experiment results.

  • Most recently, CP(Cellular Phone) has been one of the most important technologies in the IT(Information Tech-nology) field, and it is situated in a position of great importance industrially and economically. To produce the best CP in the world, a new technological concept and its advanced implementation technique is required, due to the extreme level of competition in the world market. The RT(Robot Technology) has been developed as the next generation of a future technology. Current robots require advanced technology, such as soft computing, human-friendly interface, interaction technique, speech recognition, object recognition etc. unlike the industrial robots of the past. Therefore, this paper explains conceptual research for development of the RCP(Robotic Cellular Phone), a new technological concept, in which a synergy effect is generated by the merging of IT & RT. RCP infra consists of $RCP^{Mobility}$ $RCP^{Interaction}$, $RCP^{Integration}$ technologies. Especially, the RCP mobility system is focused in this paper. $RCP^{Mobility}$ is to apply a mobility technology, which is popular robot technology, to CP and combine human-friendly motion and navigation function to CP. It develops a new technological application system of auto-charging and real-world entertainment function etc. This technology can make a CP companion pet robot. It is an automation of human-friendly motions such as opening and closing of CPs, rotation of antenna, manipulation and wheel-walking. It's target is the implementation of wheel and manipulator functions that can give service to humans with human-friendly motion. So, this paper presents the definition, the basic theory and experiment results of the RCP mobility system. We confirm a good performance of the RCP mobility system through the experiment results.

  • A lateral type MEMS inertial switch was designed on the same principle as spring-mass system. The MEMS switch is used for arming mechanism of the arm-fire device by sensing the applied acceleration. We analyzed the switching capability of the MEMS switch under various acceleration conditions via performance model. Simulation results showed that the MEMS switch works very well at 10 g when the applied acceleration slope does not exceed 10 g/msec. On the other hand, the threshold operating acceleration level simulation exceeded the requirement (10±2 g) due to the width and length of the spring by considering 10% tolerance of the design values. Design modification of doubling the width of the spring, which is difficult to reduce less than 10% tolerance in fabrication process, was proposed after confirming the simulation results comply the requirement.

  • Electro-Mechanical Ignition Safety Device(EMISD) for solid rocket motor is designed and manufactured. The EMISD utilizes a true rotary solenoid for arming mechanism and an electric squib(initiator) for generating ignition energy. In order to prove the ignition capability of the EMISD, 10-cc Closed Bomb Test(CBT) is performed, which measures the pressure built by high temperature and high pressure gas generated by operating EMISD. The pressure built in the free volume of 10-cc closed bomb and the opening time of the ignition gas outlet are calculated using one dimensional gas dynamic model which is composed of the ideal gas equation and mass-energy conservation equation. Comparing the test result with model prediction, it is realized that the pressure built in the free volume of closed bomb due to the firing of EMISD, has the efficiency ratio of about 34%.
