In this study, the swimming behavior of a small box jellyfish (Carybdea brevipedalia), which consists of inhaling external seawater and expelling it through its mouth to generate forward thrust, was characterized using particle image velocimetry (PIV). The flow rate and structure during the suction and discharge process were quantitatively analyzed. During swimming, there was a change in the ratio of the internal area during inhalation and expulsion. Specifically, there was a 1.10-fold difference between the maximum area after inhalation and the minimum area after discharge. The maximum distance traveled after discharge was inversely proportional to the size of the inner area, with a 2.48-fold difference in the minimum distance traveled after suction. Depending on the propulsion stage, the inner area decreased and then increased in proportion to the moving distance and speed. The moving distance of the small box jellyfish was measured for each period. The speed for each swimming stage increased and then decreased at intervals of 0.15 to 0.2 seconds, and the suction and discharge cycle period was measured at approximately 0.5 seconds. Collectively, our findings provide a methodological basis for studying the swimming behavior of small and highly active trailing jet jellyfish, as well as the biological mechanisms that determine this behavior.
The purpose of this study is analyzes the violate behavior the Parking Area for the handicapped and monitor the management problem, therefore presents the improvement alternatives of it. Self-efficacy was found to have a statistically positive correlation with health promotion behavior. Stepwise multiple regression analysis revealed that the most powerful predictor of health promotion behavior was depression. Depression, self-efficacy, number of chronic disease, and economic status accounted for 35.2% of the variance. Conclusion: It is necessary to prepare health promotion programs that can reduce depression level and improve self-efficacy in elders living alone in rural area.
An experimental study is carried out to evaluate the performance of Lime mortar-Well graded Soil (Lime-WS) columns for the improvement of soft soils. Tests are conducted on a column of 100 mm diameter and 600 mm length surrounded by soft soil in different area ratios. Experiments are performed either with the entire area loading to evaluate the load - settlement behavior of treated grounds and only a column area loading to find the limiting axial stress of the column. A series of tests are carried out in soaking condition to investigate the influence of moisture content on the load - settlement behavior of specimens. In order to compare the behavior of Lime-WS columns with Conventional Stone (CS) columns as well as Geogrid Encased Stone (GES) columns, the behavior of these columns have been also considered in the present study. Remarkable improvement in the behavior of soft soil is observed due to the installation of Lime-WS columns and the performance of these columns is significantly enhanced by increasing the area ratio. The results show that CS columns are not suitable as a soil improvement technique for extremely soft soils and should be enhanced by encasing the column or replaced by rigid stone columns.
This study was planned in order to investigate coal miners' recognition and attitude toward pneumoconiosis, and its realtionship with related behavior for prevention of pneumoconiosis. Study object was coal miners in Kangneung area, sampled by multistage random proportional sampling. Sample size was 13% of total coal miners in Kangneung area. The results were devided into three parts: (1) descriptive results presented percent distribution, (2) reclassification of knowledge, experiences, and attitude by factor analysis, (3) prediction of health behavior for prevention of pneumoconiosis by discriminant analysis. Knowledge, experiences, and attitude toward pneumoconiosis were classified into nine factors. Knowledge about pneumoconiosis were broken down to two factors and attitude to four factors, and valence, perceived severity were classified into each one factor. According to demographic, socioeconomic characteristics, and factors of knowledge, experiences, attitude about pneumoconiosis, about 62% of behavior of wearing respiratory protector was correctly discriminated. And by the same methods, about 81% of behavior of hospital visit at respiratory symptoms; cough, sputum, chest pain etc. was discriminated correctly.
This study was conducted to investigate the nutritional knowledge and eating behavior of elementary school senior students in Incheon area and to develope education program appropriate for them. Questionnaire was developed and distributed to 551 fifth and sixth grade students of fourteen elementary schools in Incheon area. The data was analyzed using ANOVA. According to the results on nutritional knowledge and attitude, senior students were aware of major sources of some nutrients, but didn't seemed to know about the role of some nutrients. Nevertheless, it was favorable that they took various food from major food groups. But the proportion of students skipping breakfast and taking instant food was high. Their table etiquette was not good at home, but attitude for food hygiene was comparatively good. They recognized Korean traditional food more nutritious than fast food. Even though they understood what was right for eating behavior, they didn't practice it correctly. From these results, it seemed that follow-up study or intervention is necessary to improve nutritional knowledge and eating behavior of the students. Qualified teachers, nutrition specialists, are required in order to develop and apply systematic nutrition education program for correcting inappropriate eating behavior of the students. Furthermore, nutrition education for their parents will be more effective.

As aging society progresses, it is necessary to establish a housing standard that provides a healthy, safe, and convenient environment for the elderly. The objective of the study is to propose a housing space standard that is geared towards elderly living in the urban area. Three steps were taken to attain the objective. First, characteristics of housing preference, spatial usage and furniture preference of the elderly were attained through a survey. The survey was conducted targeting the respondents of the ages 60 to 79 living in three different administrative districts in Seoul. Second, the required floor space to perform individual specific behavior using anthropometric dimension of the elderly was investigated by literature review. Lastly, floor space of each space is suggested combining each area for individual specific behavior which reflects characteristics of housing preference and spatial usage. The results of the research as follows. A bedroom was planned, which includes the function of receiving guests by giving the area for the placement of a sofa. The space for the use of dinning table for two person was planned in the kitchen and The space for the behavior of showering on a chair was planned in a bathroom. Lastly, the space for the behavior of taking off shoes on a chair was considered in the entrance area. Consequently, $35.4m^2$ is suggested as the necessary floor space for the elderly housing considering the characteristics of the elderly in urban area. However, because of space composition and space for accessibility, the additional space should be considered to plan the elderly housing.
