  • Let Mp := 2p - 1 be a Mersenne prime. In this article, we find integers a, b, c, d, e and n satisfying $\sum_{t=0}^{n}\;\({an+b\\ct+d}\)\;=\;M_{p^e}$ given a Mersenne prime number Mp. In order to find a special case that satisfies the above results, we reprove an well-known relation of a certain sum of binomial coefficients and a divisor function.

  • A stability analysis of a non-linear prey-predator system under the influence of one dimensional diffusion has been investigated to determine the nature of the bifurcation point of the system. The non-linear bifurcation analysis determining the steady state solution beyond the critical point enables us to determine characteristic features of the spatial inhomogeneous pattern arising out of the bifurcation of the state of the system.

  • The object of the present paper is to establish two interesting unified integral formulas involving Multiple (multiindex) Mittag-Leffler functions, which is expressed in terms of Wright hypergeometric function. Some deduction from these results are also considered.

  • In this paper, we slightly improve the Baby-step Giant-step for certain elliptic curves. This method gives the running time improvement of $200\%$ in precomputation (Baby-step) and requires half as much storage as the original Baby-step Giant-step method.

  • A two-strain epidemic model with an age structure mutation and varying population is studied. By means of the spectrum theory of bounded linear operator in functional analysis, the reproductive numbers according to the strains, which associates with the growth rate ${\lambda}^*$ of total population size are obtained. The asymptotic stability of the steady states are obtained under some sufficient conditions.

  • We construct the empirical Bayes (EB)estimation of the parameter in two-side truncated distribution families with asymmetric Linex loss using negatively associated (NA) samples. The asymptotical optimality and convergence rate of the EB estimation is obtained. We will show that the convergence rate can be arbitrarily close to $O(n^{-q}),\;q\;=\;{\lambda}s(\delta\;-\;2)/\delta(s\;+\;2)$.

  • In this paper we present a second order PVT (parallel variable transformation) algorithm converging to second order stationary points for minimizing smooth functions, based on the first order PVT algorithm due to Fukushima (1998). The corresponding stopping criterion, descent condition and descent step for the second order PVT algorithm are given.
