  • Process measurements contain random and gross errors and the size estimation of gross errors is required for production accounting. Mixed integer programming technique had been applied to identify and estimate the gross errors simultaneously.   • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to apply the machine and deep learning methodology on error terms which are continuously auto-generated on the sensors with specific time period and prove the improvement effects of power generator prediction diagnosis system by comparing detection ability. Methods: The SVM(Support Vector Machine) and MLP(Multi Layer Perception) learning procedures were applied for predicting the target values and sequentially producing the error terms for confirming the detection improvement effects of suggested application. For checking the effectiveness of suggested procedures, several detection methodologies such as Cusum and EWMA were used for the comparison. Results: The statistical analysis result shows that without noticing the sequential trivial changes on current diagnosis system, suggested approach based on the error term diagnosis is sensing the changes in the very early stages. Conclusion: Using pattern of error terms as a diagnosis tool for the safety control process with SVM and MLP learning procedure, unusual symptoms could be detected earlier than current prediction system. By combining the suggested error term management methodology with current process seems to be meaningful for sustainable safety condition by early detecting the symptoms.

  • This study was performed to comparatively evaluate selected Human Reliability Analysis (HRA) methods which mainly focus on cognitive error analysis, and to derive the requirement of a new human error analysis (HEA) framework for Accident Management (AM) in Nuclear Power Plants (NPPs). In order to achieve this goal, we carried out a case study of human error analysis on an AM task in NPPs. In the study we evaluated three cognitive HEA methods, HRMS, CREAM and PHECA, which were selected through the review of the currently available seven cognitive HEA methods. The task of reactor cavity flooding was chosen for the application study as one of typical tasks of AM in NPPs. From the study, we derived seven requirement items for a new HEA method of AM in NPPs. We could also evaluate the applicability of three cognitive HEA methods to AM tasks. CREAM is considered to be more appropriate than others for the analysis of AM tasks, HRMS is also applicable to the error analysis of AM tasks. But, PHECA is regarded less appropriate for the predictive HEA technique as well as for the analysis of AM tasks. In addition to these, the advantages and disadvantagesofeachmethodaredescribed.

Semantic-Oriented Error Correction for Voice-Activated Information Retrieval System

  • Voice input is often required in many new application environments, but the low rate of speech recognition makes it difficult to extend its application. Previous approaches were to raise the accuracy of the recognition by post-processing of the recognition results, which were all lexical-oriented. We suggest a new semantic-oriented approach in speech recognition error correction. Through experiments using a speech-driven in-vehicle telematics information application, we show the excellent performance of our approach and some advantages it has as a semantic-oriented approach over a pure lexical-oriented approach.

  • Voice input is often required in many new application environments such as telephone-based information retrieval, car navigation systems, and user-friendly interfaces, but the low success rate of speech recognition makes it difficult to extend its application to new fields. Popular approaches to increase the accuracy of the recognition rate have been researched by post-processing of the recognition results, but previous approaches were mainly lexical-oriented ones in post error correction. We suggest a new semantic-oriented approach to correct both semantic level and lexical errors, which is also more accurate for especially domain-specific speech error correction. Through extensive experiments using a speech-driven in-vehicle telematics information application, we demonstrate the superior performance of our approach and some advantages over previous lexical-oriented approaches.

  • This paper verified error of STL file and presented a new application of reformed division method for reducing to appeared error by using Delaunay triangulation method that used to modify error of verified data. First, it is analyzed each vertices in hole error and classified follow case that is 1. case of plan or slope, 2. case of edge, 3. case of apex and 4. case of rapid curve, and reduced volume tolerance between original model and converted model after convert STL file.

  • In this paper, a new application method of the Kalman filter to desigin a gyro is proposed. The role of a gyro is the estimation of an input rate with minimal error covariance. The size of the error covariance depends on gyro's parameters, which makes it possible to use the parameters of gyro to minimze the estimation error covariance. Numerical analysis shows that the error covariance becomes smaller as the spin axis momentum becomes larger and the damping coefficient smaller, but production cost must be considered. Through numerical analysis the parameter set for an acceptable - performance gyro with small cost can be selected.

  • A modified output error method developed by the authors are presented, and an example of its application on an air accident is shown. In order to obtain the aerodynamic coefficients of an aircraft, the maximum likelihood method and the output error method are often employee However, in the case of an air accident, there is only one flight data available. The newly devised modified output error method by authors seems to have shown fine performance. By employing this method and processing the flight data, unstational aerodynamic coefficients are obtained. The contradiction between the recorded flight data and the circumstantial evidence was reasonably explained.
