In this paper, we describe the internet-based remote home automation system that con control and manage home appliances or digital devices bi-directionally through Internet. The platform-independency of VRML and Java applet enables users to access their home appliances and to check current state of them in t he virtual reality environment. The main focus is on three aspects. One is on the virtual reality technology to support the user interface efficiently by using 3D GUI in web-browser. Another is on the system architecture that consists of Home server and its manager server called Gate server in this paper. These servers have been implemented by Java RMI which is the basic single programming interface for distribution of objects and services using Java technology. The third, remote PLC controller and each digital devices are composed of home networking by PLC using CEBus protocol.

In this paper, we implement embedded Linux intelligent controller and remote monitoring system for Bridge Diagnosis. Embedded controller as the hard core is consisted of 32 bit CPU and is designed to have processing of real time monitoring and FFT for Bridge Diagnosis. The prototype monitoring system can operate with world wide web in GUI environment by Java. Detailed design and functional analysis for monitoring system are performed by systems approach.

최근 모든 내장형 응용들이 급속히 웹기반으로 바뀌어 가고 있다 사무자동화 과학의료 멀티미디어 보안시스템 등 망에 접속된 모든 최종사용자들은 같은 공간안에 접속된 모든 최종사용자들은 같은 공간안에 있는 같은 건물내에 있든 혹은 다른 도시에 위치하든 인터넷 이나 인트라넷에의 접속장치를 사용하게 된다 예를 들어 대형 출판물사업에서도 원고의 접수나 작업일정을 원격으로 처리하기 시작했고 새로운 의료장치들은 의사들이 원격지나 오지에 있는 환자의 상태를 웹을 통해 진단 할 수 있게 되었다 자동화된 건물이나 원격보안 시스템은 LAN이나 WAN 상에서 건물내의 모든 출입문을 상태를 감시할 수가 있게 되는 등 그 활용성은 무한하다. Agrant, Spyglass 그리고 프리웨어인 Apache 등 많은 내장형 서버 솔루션이 이미 HTTP 서버를 도입하고 있다 내장형 어플리케이션에서의 HTTP 서비스 CGI와 API, memory footprint HTML 및 applet compression OS threading model security 그리고 licensing등에 대해 알아본다.

Medications or cognitive-behavior methods have been mainly used as a treatment of alcoholism. lately the virtualy technology has been applied to the kink of alcoholic disorders. A virtual environment makes him having ability to over come the drink. In this study, we were implemented by making panorama images and 3D object modules using 3D Studio MAX. VRML, JAVA Applet. And the BAR stimulator that composed with a position sensor head mount display, and audio system, is suggested. To illustrate the physiological difference between a person who has a alcoholism and and without a liquor bottle, heart rate was measured during experiment, and also measured a Person's HR after the virtual reality training. we demonstrated the subjective effectiveness of virtual reality psychotherapy through the clinical experiment.

This paper discusses the interacting mobile robots for tele-operation system using the world wide web. In multi-agent and web-based teleoperation environment the problem of communication delay must be solved for the efficient and robust control of the system. The standard graphic user interface(GUI)is implemented using Java Programing language. The web browser is used to integrate the virtual environment and the standard GUI(Java applet) in a single user interface. Users can access a dedicated WWWserver and download the user interface. Reinforcement learning is applied to indirect control in order to autonomously operate without the need of human intervention. In this paper, a Web-based management system for the building network is described. A multi-protocol converter based on SoC and embedded Linux is designed. The open source licensing, reliability, and broad hardware support are key reasons for use of embedded Linux in embedded industry. The multi-protocol converter integrates control network of RS-485 and LonWorks devices through TCP/IP protocol for a client with Java applet. The system consists of three-tier architecture, such as a client, a server that is performed on a multi-protocol converter, and control devices. The developed system includes the inverter motor control system with modbus protocol for the RS-485 network. The experiment results show that the multi-protocol converter using embedded Linux is a flexible and effective way to builda Web -based monitoring and control system.

As E-commerce is getting more popular, consumers faces more decision complexity than ever before because they can get greater alternative choices. Futhermore, consumers are sometimes motivated to expand effort in making a good decision in the case of relatively important and non-routine decison, such as buying a house or car. Thus, a buying decision support function is required to help consumers make decisions that have the greatest effects on consumer's lives. We develop a propotype system of a web-based buying decision support system for a cyber shopping mall. A buying decision of a consumer is a multi-attribute decision problem and is supported using analytic hierarchy process model. The system was implemented using HTML, Java, Java applet, JSP.

A grid generation program for specific problems is introduced. The program allows users to easily generate grid system for specific geometry such as an airfoil, cylinder, wedge, flat plate, and nozzle. Generating grid system for those problems can be proceeded with minimum user inputs such as geometry-defining parameters and grid-defining parameters. By using this program learning stage for preprocessing of CFD application can be efficiently shorten and novice students can learn and acquire experience by trying out grid generation and CFD solution by themselves.

The proposed courseware using Java applets and VRML provides the improved learning methods which can enhance the interests of students. To cope with difficulties of science education presents 3 dimensional anmation function using VRML. The courseware helps students to improve understanding of machine easily seen in our life and interest of science education. It can be widely used to improve the efficiency of science education.

The present study introduces an architecture for performing efficient numerical analysis by using the Internet and three reconstructing methods of existing numerical analysis codes were presented in order to utilize the architecture. These methods were implemented into a computational fluid dynamics program for solving two-dimensional transient flow problems with free surface. The program was reconstructed with Java technologies and compared with the original one. This study will be a preparation for numerical analysis to participate in web services for engineering.
