전북 일부지역의 여자 중.고.대학생의 식습관 변화 (The Change on Food Habits of Girls Students Living in Jeonbuk Region)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the change in food habits of girl students 1985 and 1998. A similar study had been conducted in 1985 and this study was carried in May, 1998 using the questionnaires. The subjects were 746 female students in middle school, high school and university students living in Jeonbuk region. The average score of food habit was $4.11{\pm}1.63$ out of a possible 10. This averge is lower than the 4.91 score in 1985, especially the score of university students lowered from 4.80 points to $3.52{\pm}1.58$ points. The correlation coefficient between the score of food habit and standard of living, utilizing increase as compared with the 54.9% in 1985. The most preferred side-dish changed from fried food to Kimchi. The preference of snacks was not changed. Eating bread increased at breakfast but eating noodles increased at lunch. University students' lunch basket preparation ratio decreased from 32.6% to 3.3%, so they had more noodles at refectory than lunch basket. The reason for skipping breakfast did not changes, but skipping lunch changed from annoyance due to lunch basket preparation to lack of time and no appetite. Skipping supper was changed from missing time to weight control. Having supper at home decreased from 96.6% to 75.9%. Substitution food on no preparation of lunch basket was changed from bread to noodles. The preference for biscuits and snack did not changes but fewer students preftered bread and fried food. In order to improve the nutritional status of the girl students, they must establish good food habits, especially by eating 3 regular meals per day and balancing their diet they should also be notified that severe weight control is very harmful for health.

한국인임신부(韓國人姙娠婦)의 Sodium과 단백질섭취량(蛋白質攝取量) 및 대사(代謝)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究) (A Study on the Sodium and Potassium Intakes and Their Metabolism of the Pregnant Women in Korea)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate sodium intake and protein metabolism for pregnant women in Korea. The relationship between salt consumption and hypertension, electrolyte changes in pregnancy, and the tendency of weight gain of pregnant women were also examined. The dietary survey and twelve or twenty-four hour's urine collection was performed in this study. The subjects were pregnant women who came to gynecology clinic for prenatal care from July to August in 1984. The results were as follows: 1) Intakes of calorie and iron of Korean pregnant women were 2,036 Kcal and 16mg per day per person. The calorie composition consists of 65% carbohydrate, 16% protein, and 19% lipids. The average level of all nutrients was about 87% of Korean Recommended Dietary Allowances. 2) The sodium intakes in pregnant women estimated by dietary survey was 318.6 mEq Na (7,966 mg Na), which is equivalent to 20.2 g NaCl. 3) Daily sodium excretion was 112.5 mEq per liter, that is equal to 147.4 mEq. Potassium excretion was 24.95 mEq per liter and creatinine excretion was 594.0 mg per day. 4) There were statistically significant correlations between sodium intake and the excretions of sodium, potassium and creatinine. The blood pressure was positively correlated with sodium intakes. As sodium and potassium ratio was increased, systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure were also significantly increased 5) Urinary nitrogen and creatinine ratio known to be reliable index for nutritional status of protein was 5.5 : 1. These values were comparable to the values in American pregnant women. 6) The weight gain during the pregnancy was examined. There was little weight gain during the first trimester, because of nausea, vomit and decrease of appetite. The weight gain during the second trimester was 4.9Kg, and 11.1Kg for third trimester.

영향위험 농촌 노인집단에 적용한 영양중재 프로그램의 추후관리 효과(II) (The Effect of Follow-up Nutrition Intervention Programs Applied Aged Group of High Risk Undernutrition in Rural Area(II))

  • This research has done for 67 undernutrition people of the aged men and women that are practiced follow-up nutrition intervention programs for 9weeks. The result of health related status, eating habit, food attitude and food intake for 2days is as following. 37.3% of objected old people are drinking, 20.9% of those are smoking and 29.9% of those are exercising. 55.2% of objected old people of the second intervention program about self-rated health say good. Sleeping hours of 25.4% of objected old people is from 6 to 8 hours. Meal amount and appetite above 98% of objected old people, compared to those of before sixty age, are decreasing and similar. 67.8% or 70.1% of the objected old people, compared to those of before sixty age, say same in sweet and salt taste. More significantly increased food group in after intervention than before intervention is vegetables and animal foods. There is no difference between management group and comparison group by ANCOVA analysis. DDS and DVS in management group are no significant differences between before intervention and after intervention.

Nutrient intake and dietary quality of Korean adults according to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD): Based on the 2012~2014 Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey

  • Purpose: Food intake of COPD patients decreases because of appetite loss, depression, and breathing problems while eating, which increase the likelihood of patients becoming malnourished. This study investigated the nutrient intake and dietary quality of people with and without COPD in Korea. Methods: There were 2,160 adults aged 50 and over who participated in the $5{\sim}6^{th}$ Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. The subjects were divided into the COPD group and non-COPD group according to the rate of forced expiratory volume at 1 second (FEV1) against forced vital capacity (FVC). Consumption of food and nutrients were calculated based on the nutrition examination survey. Statistical analyses were conducted using SPSS 19.0. Results: Among individuals in their 50s, intake of vitamin $B_1$ in the COPD group was significantly less than the NCOPD group, while intake of sodium in the COPD group was significantly greater than the NCOPD group. Among individuals in their 60s, the energy intake of the COPD group was significantly less than that of the NCOPD group. The COPD group showed significantly less intake of vitamin $B_1$ and vitamin C, but greater intake of sodium than the NCOPD group. In the group aged 70 and over, The COPD group had significantly less intake of vitamin $B_1$ than the NCOPD group and showed lower nutrient adequacy ratio values in protein, vitamin $B_1$, vitamin $B_2$, and iron than the NCOPD group. Conclusion: The COPD group consumed less energy and certain nutrients, and their dietary quality was poor compared to the NCOPD group. Thus, more detailed research is required to understand the concrete relationship between COPD and malnutrition.

승정원일기의 의안(醫案)을 통해 살펴본 효종의 질병과 사인 (King Hyojong's diseases and death records - through the Daily Records of Royal Secretariat of Joseon Dynasty Seungjeongwonilgi(承政院日記))

  • Objectives : King Hyojong (1619-1659) was the 17th king of the Joseon Dynasty. He was on the throne from 1649 to 1659. The king was a center of state rule in ancient times. This meant that the physical and mental status of a king was very confidential information. In the royal court of Joseon Korea, the treatment process for the king had to be performed under the surveillance of close associates, and this whole process had to be recorded by the official secretary. This is the reason that I referred to the Daily Records of Royal Secretariat of Joseon Dynasty. Methods : Relevant articles were extracted from Daily Records of Royal Secretariat of Joseon Dynasty and analyzed according to the main arguments of this paper. Some other related sources were referred in terms of King Hyojong's ailments and treatments. Results & Conclusions : King Hyojong suffered from various diseases during his time on the throne. Fever was the most frequent ailment; he also often had diarrhea followed by poor appetite. I assume that he must have suffered from diabetes considering his ailments. Additionally, his final treatment records clearly show that his ailments were similar to diabetic complications.

음성통신을 위한 잡음처리 기술

  • 음성 통신을 할 때 배경 잡음이 존재하게 되면 일반적으로 음질이 저하된다. 이것은 잡음 자체가 듣기 싫다거나 음성을 더 작게 들리게 만들기 때문이기도 하고 음성 코덱이 잡음이 섞이지 않은 깨끗한 음성에 최적화되어 있어서 잡음이 섞인 음성에 대한 코딩 효율이 떨어지기 때문이기도 하다. 이 논문에서는 잡음에 의한 음성 통신의 품질 저하를 막기 위한 방법으로서 음성 향상(speech enhancement) 기술과 음성 강화(speech reinforcement) 기술에 대해 소개한다. 음성 향상 기술이란 전송부의 마이크에서 녹음된 잡음과 음성이 섞인 입력 음성으로부터 깨끗한 음성을 추정하는 기술을 말한다. 음성 향상 기술은 상당히 오랜 기간 동안 연구되어 온 기술이며, 최근에는 각 파라미터의 분포에 의존하는 방법보다 확률 모델에 기반한 방법이 각광을 받고 있으며 인간의 청각 특성을 고려한 음성 향상 방법도 제안되고 있다. 음성 강화 기술이란 수신단에서 주변 잡음에 따라 전송되어 온 음성을 주파수별로 증폭하여 더 잘 들리도록 만드는 기술이다. 음성 향상이 내 주위의 잡음이 상대방에게 들리는 음성에 미치는 영향 혹은 상대방 주변의 잡음이 나에게 들리는 소리에 미치는 영향을 줄여주는 기술이라면 음성 강화는 내 주위의 잡음이 나에게 들리는 음성에 미치는 영향을 상쇄해 주는 기술이다. 이 경우 주변 잡음은 어떤 전자 시스템도 거치지 않고 귀로 직접 들어오기 때문에 잡음 자체를 줄여 주는 것은 힘들고 전송되어 온 음성을 적절히 증폭 혹은 변형함으로써 귀에 들리는 음질 또는 명료성을 개선하게 된다. 이 논문에서는 통계 모델을 기반으로 한 음성 향상 기법과 인간의 청각 특성을 고려한 음성 향상 기법, 그리고 음성 강화 기법에 대해 설명한다.을 시도한 결과 안정적이고 반복 가능한 급성 심부전 모델을 얻을 수 있었다. bench scale실험결과와 같이 AOC는 배수관망에서의 박테리아 증식과 크게 상관관계를 갖고 있는 것으로 밝혀졌다.)', 'have a headache (2.10±0.79)', 'poor memory (2.09±0.83)', 'no appetite (1.99±0.85)', As for the correlation between iron parameter and clinical symptoms related to anemia, the hematocrit rate was negatively correlated with 'get a cold easily', 'pale face', 'feeling blue', 'difficult digestion' (p<0.05). 장수벨트지역 장수인의 식생활 특성 (The Dietary Habits of the Nonagenarian Population in Longevity Belt in Korea)

  • The dietary habits and eating behaviors of nonagenarian subjects over 90 years old in Korean representative longevity belts of Damyang, Gokseong, Kurye, Sunchang were evaluated. The subjects of the study were 91 elderly people (26 males and 65 females) over 90 years old and their dietary habits, food preferences and meal patterns were collected by individual interview. The percentage of subjects, who answered 'very good' or 'good' for their health status, was $65.9\%$. In this study, $55\%$ of subjects were without chronic diseases, and there was no significance difference in gender. Many subjects had performed regular exercise and outdoor activity. The rate of eating together with their family was $79.1\%$. Most of subjects ($91.2\%$) had a regular mealtime consuming three meals a day, and they had good appetite and pleasure of eating. The higher preference of food group was fruits ($95.6\%$), legumes ($94.5\%$), mushrooms ($93.4\%$) and vegetables ($92.3\%$), but the amount of intakes is higher in vegetables than the others. Eating with family, regular exercise and self-rated good health are improved their nutrient intakes. Most frequently consumed meal pattern was rice plus soup and side dishes. The side dish consumed frequently was Namul (blanch and seasoned vegetables). From this study, the nonagenarian populations in longevity belt in Korea have good dietary habits such as regular mealtime, constant amount of meal and eat with pleasure. They are taking Korean traditional meal pattern, providing enriched antioxidant vegetable foods. Also, it can be concluded that the amount and quality of diet in the long-lived elderly are responsible for the Korean traditional family system.

수술 후 보조적 항암화학요법을 받는 대장암 환자의 일상영양관리 순응도에 대한 질적 연구 (Qualitative Study of Compliance with Nutritional Management in Colorectal Cancer Patient Undergoing Chemotherapy)

  • Objectives: The nutritional status of cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy is closely related to the compliance of nutrition education. However, as chemotherapy is conducted repeatedly, compliance with nutrition management is lowered, leading to malnutrition. Malnutrition is related directly to the quality of life after surgery in cancer patients. Therefore, this study examined the factors related to compliance with nutrition management during chemotherapy. Methods: In this study, five subjects with colorectal cancer undergoing adjuvant chemotherapy were interviewed in-depth using the Giorgi study method. The contents of the nutrition education visits and in-depth interviews were transcribed in the language of the subject after recording, and the appropriateness of the data was improved by reflecting the subject's actions and facial expressions. Results: After conducting the in-depth interviews for each subject, the experience of the subject's diet and adjuvant chemotherapy was drawn into two domains, six elements, and 26 sub-elements. In the cognitive domain, the patients experienced physical and psychological changes, and the need for nutrition management was recognized by analyzing the dietary causes of the diseases. In the domain of practice, a knowing-doing gap was formed, unlike the patient's will. Factors that inhibited compliance with nutritional management included digestive problems, sensory changes, loss of appetite, and social interaction stress. Conclusions: Dietary management is very important for patients receiving periodic anticancer therapy, and step-by-step training and personal monitoring based on the chemotherapy order is necessary to maintain the patient's will and social and environmental support.

경북 일부지역 유아들의 비만과 이에 관련된 요인에 관한 연구 - 식습관, 식품기호도 및 스트레스를 중심으로 - (Related factors on Overweight among Young Children in the Kungbuk area)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the prevalence and to identify the related factors of overweight among young children. The study subjects were 138 children, aged 3-5, attending child care centers in the Kyungbuk area. We assessed a wide range of collected variables including general characteristics, anthropometric data, dietary habits, stress, food preferences, and food frequencies of young children, and anthropometric data and general characteristics of their parents. The results of this study were analyzed with $\chi$$^{2}$_ or t-test using SPSS package program. The subjects were classified into two groups using the weight for length index WLI criteria: normal group(n=101) and overweight group(n=37). Forty-nine percent of mothers of overweight children did not recognize their child's current overweight status. Scores for encountering criticized-violent situation stress, hurt-pride stress and total stress were higher in the overweight group than in the normal group. The frequency of snacking and the appetite of the overweight group were increased compared to those of the normal group. The overweight group had higher preferences for salad, kimbab, boiled rice with meat, vegetables and Chinese noodles, chicken, shell, banana, soybean milk, hotdog, and potato than the normal group. The overweight group showed higher consumption frequencies of pan-fried foods, egg, laver and strawbery compared to the normal group. Therefore, our results suggest that obese young children, as well as their parents, need more nutritional counseling education about dietary habits, food preference, recognition of normal weight and strategies for actively coping with stresstopreventandtreatobesityandtomaintainhealth. .

만성 리튬 중독환자의 지연성 정정맥 혈액 투석여과 사례 (Delayed Continuous Venovenous Hemodiafiltration in Chronic Lithium Intoxication)

  • A 66-year-old male with chronic alcoholism presented with tremor, gait disturbance, memory impairment, insomnia, decreased appetite, and confusion. The patient had been taking lithium daily for treatment of bipolar disorder. Brain CT showed no specific abnormality, and serum lithium and ammonia levels were 3.63 mEq/L (therapeutic range, 0.6~1.2 mEq/L) and $85{\mu}g/dL$ (reference range: $19{\sim}54{\mu}g/dL$), respectively. Therefore, the initial differential diagnosis included chronic lithium intoxication, hepatic encephalopathy, Wernicke encephalopathy, or alcohol withdrawal syndrome. Even with the provision of adequate hydration, the patient's neurologic status did not show improvement, so that lactulose enema, thiamine replacement, and continuous venovenous hemodiafiltration (CVVHDF) were started on the third admission day. By the fifth admission day he had made a rapid neurologic recovery, and was discharged on the 20th admission day. Therefore, CVVHDF might be a treatment for patients with chronic lithium intoxication, because, even if serum lithium concentration is normal, lithium concentration in the brain may be different from that of the serum.
