  • Objectives: The purpose of this study is to examine correlation between subjective oral health status and oral-related appearance satisfaction of college students. 100 college students at a college located in Gyeonggi-do participated in the survey, oral examinations, and self-rated oral hygiene management ability tests. The data was then analyzed accordingly. Methods: Frequency test and chi-square statistical analysis were conducted on general characteristics and subjective oral health status, and SAS version 9.2 was used. Results: As a result of this study, students' subjective perceptions about oral health had positive correlation with oral-related appearance(p <0.05). It is noteworthy that those who responded on 'satisfactory' oral health status indicated that 16% 'unsatisfactory', 28% 'average' and 68% 'satisfactory' on oral-related appearance. Students' self-rated oral hygiene management ability and irregular teeth conditions were also found relevant in causing discomfort in interpersonal activities, whereas students responded 'satisfactory', 0.00%; 'average', 31.82%; 'unsatisfactory' 68.18% (p <0.05). Conclusion: This study suggests that oral-related appearance can have an impact on oral health status and that oral-related appearance can be a contributing factor to improve oral health status and therefore results in promotion of general health. In the future, further research should be considered about perception on oral-related appearance, oral health status and any resulting behavior changes.

  • This study investigated correlations among interpersonal problems, body dissatisfaction, and makeup behavior among college students. The results provide basic data which are helpful for students to build healthy interpersonal relationships and suggest a direction for beauty care behavior. This study derived the following results: A close correlation was identified between international problems and body dissatisfaction and body dissatisfaction and makeup behavior. In other words, college students suffering from interpersonal problems also experienced body dissatisfaction. In addition, those with body dissatisfaction have made efforts to overcome such problem through makeup behavior. This could be viewed as meaning that the greater the body dissatisfaction, the more active college students are in makeup management behavior, and the intention to resolve their physical dissatisfaction through makeup management behavior was included. Therefore, society or colleges need to recognize the necessity of counseling or treatment programs for college students suffering from interpersonal problems or body dissatisfaction and help them enter into society through diverse programs. Additionally, appearance management programs, such as the aforementioned makeup behavior, that can make them satisfied with their body should be developed. Ultimately, diverse suggestions that can help students improve their self-esteem and interpersonal relationships and enhance sociality through such social efforts should be formulated.

A survey of 24 women (aged 25~40) who had experienced pregnancy and childbirth were included in the study, categorized as early pregnancy, pre-birth, and post-birth parenting. Subcategories were derived as "unfeasible pregnancy," "unpredictable and unprepared anxiety," "self-awareness of changing bodies," "pressure on healthy bodies," "opportunity to let go of pressure on appearance management," "pressure on hard parenting," and "experience of change in unmanaged areas." Pregnant women and women with children demonstrated tastes and preferences in style suitable for differentiated situations and roles, along with perceptions of appearance.

  • Precision livestock monitoring promises greater management efficiency for farmers and higher welfare standards for animals. Recent studies on video-based animal activity recognition and tracking have shown promising solutions for understanding animal behavior. To achieve that, surveillance cameras are installed diagonally above the barn in a typical cattle farm setup to monitor animals constantly. Under these circumstances, tracking individuals requires addressing challenges such as occlusion and visual appearance, which are the main reasons for track breakage and increased misidentification of animals. This paper presents a framework for multi-cattle tracking in closed barns with appearance and motion models. To overcome the above challenges, we modify the DeepSORT algorithm to achieve higher tracking accuracy by three contributions. First, we reduce the weight of appearance information. Second, we use an Ensemble Kalman Filter to predict the random motion information of cattle. Third, we propose a supplementary matching algorithm that compares the absolute cattle position in the barn to reassign lost tracks. The main idea of the matching algorithm assumes that the number of cattle is fixed in the barn, so the edge of the barn is where new trajectories are most likely to emerge. Experimental results are performed on our dataset collected on two cattle farms. Our algorithm achieves 70.37%, 77.39%, and 81.74% performance on HOTA, AssA, and IDF1, representing an improvement of 1.53%, 4.17%, and 0.96%, respectively, compared to the original method.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine whether any differences can be found in body comparison, body satisfaction, and appearance management behaviors according to the MBTI's typology among male and female adolescents in Gwangju and South Jeolla province, South Korea. It was conducted by a self-report survey of 534 male and female high school students in Gwangju and South Jeolla province. The collected survey data were analyzed by Means, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$, Factor analysis, and t-test using the SPSS/PC WIN 19.0 statistical program. The results were as follows: Introversion Type(I) teens tend to think a thinner body is closer to the ideal when compared to Extroversion type(E) students. They spend less time comparing their bodies with their peers. However, they usually have lower levels of body satisfaction and are more likely to be concerned about acne. Intuition Type(N) students tend to have a body figure that is a little plumper than Sensing Type(S) teens. They are inclined to try and lose weight and are concerned about acne. Sensing Type(S) students are more likely to compare their bodies with their peers than Intuition Type(N) teens. However, they are generally less satisfied with their bodies. Feeling Type(F) teens are more concerned with harmony and personal hygiene the Thinking Type(T) students. Judging Type (J) students generally want to be thinner than their current body type when compared with Perceiving Type(P) teens. When Judging Type(J) teens decide they need to be on a diet, they do their best to lose weight even if it means exercising and forgoing their favorite foods. These results indicate that it would be more effective to offer guidance to teens while taking into consideration their differences in terms of appearance management behaviors based on the MBTI Topology of Adolescents.

It was conducted by administering a self-report survey to 544 male and female middle school students. The collected survey data were analyzed by Means, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$, Factor analysis, One-way ANOVA, and Duncan-test using the SPSS/PC WIN 19.0 statistical program. The results were as follows: According to the results of the survey, total coordination seeking in appearance management behavior is very important to teens and is deeply related to desirable character traits and creative personality characteristics. Desirable character traits show positive results for basic living habits, filial piety, respect and affection. Creative personality characteristics show positive results for curiosity, open thinking, risk taking, assignment completion and esthetic appreciation. Considering these findings, there is a need for supplementary content on total coordination seeking behavior in home economics courses. Positive effects in terms of desirable character traits and creative personality characteristics can be expected through after class activities involving clothing habits or searching for a path in life and given the depth of education related to total coordination through a free semester system.
