Kano 모델 및 PCSI 지수를 통한 의류점포의 서비스품질에 관한 연구 - 백화점을 중심으로 - (A Study on Service Quality of Fashion Retail Stores, using the Kano Model & Potential Customer Satisfaction Improvement Index - Focused on Department Stores -)

  • The purposes of this study are to classify apparel service quality elements using the Kano's model, and to identify how much service quality can increase the degree of customer satisfaction when the service quality is fully fulfilled. Women over 20 years-old from metropolitan areas participated in the study. Data from 254 questionnaires were used for the statistical analysis. The results were as follows: First, 17 service quality elements were categorized into one-dimensional quality which could lead to both satisfaction and dissatisfaction, and 3 services quality elements were categorized into indifferent quality which neither result in satisfaction nor dissatisfaction. Second, potential customer satisfaction improvement(PCSI) Index was developed using Kano model and CS coeffient. Findings of this study provide both industry and academic researchers with a guide to increase customer satisfaction in fashion retail store.

Consumer Response to Seller-Induced Perishability: Perceived Desirability of Products, Urge to Buy, and Purchase Acceleration

  • The implementation of a short renewal cycle has become one of the competitive alternatives for apparel retailers to respond quickly to fast-changing consumer tastes. This strategic orientation affects consumer decision-making by inducing perishability of the store offerings. The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of perceived seller-induced perishability (as a result of a short renewal cycle) on perceived desirability of products urge to buy and purchase acceleration. The proposed model was tested in a field setting with female shoppers from two leading fast fashion retailers in the United States. This study found that perceived seller-induced perishability significantly enhances the perceived desirability of products and intensify the urge to buy while shopping which in turn accelerates purchases. In addition to perceived seller-induced perishability perceived desirability of products also contributed to intensifying the urge to buy. A number of theoretical and managerial implications were discussed and major areas of future research were suggested.

의복구매행위에 관한 실태분석 -서울시내 여대생들을 중심으로- (Clothing Buying Practices of College Women)

  • The purpose of this study were to explore specific buying practices of college women and to determine if there were significant differences in shopping patterns between grade level. The participants consisted of 415 college women in grades freshmen through seniors. The data were collected by questionnaires. The statistical analysis of the obtained data included Caculation of the Frenquency Distribution and Chi-Square test. The specific findings of this study were as follows: 1. More than half of the students had purchasing dependence in their clothing purchase. 2. Most of the students planned their clothing purchase in advance, 3. College women interact minimally with sales people. They feel salespeople are not courteous and often dishonest in order to increase sales. They also feel that sales person does not have much knowledge about products. 4. Magazines and store displays affected college students clothing purchases more than other fashion stimulants. 5. Seniors had greater purchashing independence than freshmen. 6. Freshmen considered becoming-ness more important while seniors considered price more important in the selection of clothes.

  • The companies specializing in fashion stores are making their best efforts and recently they are increasing competition to set up their Coporate Identities for the purpose of positive corporate image and to set up their own Store Identities so that they can cope well with the changes in the consumption patterns. VMD(Visual Merchandising) is such Display Strategy which enable the stores to give their customers good recognitions. This Strategy is aimed at promoting their products not by focusing on the traditional concept of Display , but by giving appreciate planning strategy and by serving their customers with information and convenient Shopping Environment.

협업 필터링 및 하이브리드 필터링을 이용한 동종 브랜드 판매 매장간(間) 취급 SKU 추천 시스템 (SKU recommender system for retail stores that carry identical brands using collaborative filtering and hybrid filtering)

  • 최근 인터넷 기반의 웹 및 모바일 기기를 통한 소비 패턴의 다양화와 개성화가 급진전됨에 따라 전통적 유통채널인 오프라인 매장의 효율적 운영이 더욱 중요해졌다. 매장의 매출과 수익 모두를 제고하기 위해 매장은 소비자에게 가장 매력적인 상품을 적시에 공급-판매 해야 하는데 많은 상품들 중에서 어떤 SKU를 취급하는 것이 판매 확률을 높이고 재고 비용을 낮출 수 있는지에 대한 연구가 부족한 실정이다. 특히, 여러 지역에 걸쳐 다수의 오프라인 매장을 통해 상품을 판매하는 기업의 경우 고객에게 매력적인 적절한 SKU를 추천 받아 취급할 수 있다면 매장의 매출 및 수익률 제고에 도움이 될 것이다. 본 연구에서는 개인화 추천에 이용되어 왔던 협업 필터링과 하이브리드 필터링 등의 추천 시스템(Recommender System)을 국가별, 지역별로 복수의 판매 매장을 통해 동종 브랜드를 취급하는 유통 기업의 매장 단위 취급 SKU 추천 방식을 제안하였다. 각 매장의 취급 품목별 구매 데이터를 활용하여 각 매장 별 유사성(Similarity)을 계산하고 각 매장의 SKU별 판매 이력에 따라 협업 필터링을 하여 최종적으로 매장에 개별 SKU를 추천하였다. 또한 매장 프로파일 데이터를 활용하여 주변수 분석 (PCA : Principal Component Analysis) 및 군집 분석(Clustering)을 통하여 매장을 4개의 군집으로 분류한 뒤 각 군집 내에서 협업 필터링을 적용한 하이브리드 필터링 방식으로 추천 시스템을 구현하고 실제 판매 데이터를 바탕으로 두 방식의 성능을 측정하였다. 현존하는 대부분의 추천 시스템은 사용자에게 영화, 음악 등의 아이템을 추천하는 방식으로 연구가 진행되어 왔고 실제로 산업계에서의 적용 또한 개인화 추천 시스템이 주류를 이루고 있다. 그 동안 개인화 서비스 영역에서 주로 다루어져 왔던 이러한 추천 시스템을 동종 브랜드를 취급하는 유통 기업의 매장 단위에 적용하여 각 매장의 취급 SKU를 추천하는 방식에 대한 연구는 거의 이루어지지 않고 있는 실정이다. 기존 추천 방법론의 추천 적용 대상이 '개인의 영역이었다면 본 연구에서는 국가별, 지역별로 복수의 판매 매장을 통해 개인의 영역을 넘어 매장의 영역으로 확대하여 동종 브랜드를 취급하는 유통 기업의 매장 단위 취급 SKU 추천 방식을 제안하고 있다. 또한 기존의 추천시스템은 온라인에 한정되었다면 이를 오프라인으로 활용 범위를 넓히고, 기존 개인을 기반으로 분석을 하는 것보다 매장영역으로 확대 적용하기에 적합한 알고리즘을 개발하기 위해 데이터마이닝 기법을 적용하여 추천 방법을 제안한다. 본 연구의 결과가 갖는 의의는 개인화 추천 알고리즘을 동일 브랜드를 취급하는 복수의 판매 매장에 적용하여 의미 있는 결과를 도출하고 실제 기업을 대상으로 시스템으로 구축하여 활용할 수 있는 구체적 방법론을 제시했다는 데에 있다. 개인화 영역을 위주로 이루어졌던 기존의 추천 시스템과 관련한 학계의 연구 영역을 동종 브랜드를 취급하는 기업의 판매 매장으로 확장시킨 첫 시도라는 데에도 의미가 있다. 2014년 03주차 ~ 05주차 전(全) 매장 판매 수량 실적 Top 100개 SKU로 추천의 대상을 한정하여 협업 필터링과 하이브리드 필터링 방식으로 52개 매장 별로 취급 SKU를 추천하고, 추천 받은 SKU에 대한 2014년 06주차 매장별 판매 실적을 집계하여 두 추천 방식의 성과를 비교하였다. 두 추천 방식을 비교한 이유는 본 연구의 추천 방법이 기존 추천 방식 보다 높은 성과를 입증하기 위해 단순히 오프라인에 협업필터링을 적용한 것을 기준 모델로 정의하였다. 이 기준 모델에 오프라인 매장 관점의 특성을 잘 반영한 본 연구 모델인 하이브리드 필터링 방법과 비교 함으로써 성과를 입증한다. 연구에서 제안한 방식은 기존 추천 방식보다 높은 성과를 나타냈으며, 이는 국내 대기업 의류업체의 실제 판매데이터를 활용하여 입증하였다. 본 연구는 개인 수준의 추천시스템을 그룹수준으로 확장하여 효율적으로 접근하는 방법을 이론적인 프레임 워크를 만들었을 뿐 아니라 실제 데이터를 기반으로 분석하여 봄으로써 실제 기업들이 적용해 볼 수 있다는 점에서 연구의 가치가 크다.

패션선도력, 시장전문성, 점포평가기준에 관한 연구 (Fashion Leadership, Market Mavenism, and Store Evaluative Criteria)

  • 본 연구에서는 소비자들의 인구통계적 특징별로 패션선도력과 시장전문성 수준을 비교하고, 패션선도력과 시장전문성 수준에 따라 점포평가기준에 차이가 있는지를 알아보고자 하였다. 미국 전역의 소비자를 대상으로 우편설문조사를 실시하여 380부의 설문자료를 분석에 사용하였다. 결과에서 인구통계적 특성별로 패션선도력과 시장전문성 수준이 대체로 유사하게 나타났다. 여성 소비자들은 일반적으로 패션선도력과 시장전문성이 남성보다 더 강하며 교육수준이 낮을수록 시장전문성과 패션선도력이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 연령이 낮을수록 패션선도력은 더 강한 것으로 나타났으나 시장전문성에서는 연령별 차이가 발견되지 않았다. 패션선도력이 높고 시장전문성이 강할수록 더 많은 점포속성들을 더 중요한 평가기준으로 고려하는 것으로 확인되었다. 특히 시장전문성이 강한 소비자들은 그렇지 않은 소비자들에 비해 상품의 품질이 우수한지, 환불교환이 용이한지, 더 넓은 상품구색이 갖추어져 있는지를 더 중요하게 고려하였으며, 패션선도력이 강한 소비자들은 그렇지 않은 소비자들에 비해 환불용이성과 점포명성 등을 더 중요한 점포평가기준으로 고려하는 것으로 나타났다.

대우한국시상령수차대적연구(对于韩国时尚零售借贷的研究) (An Exploratory Study on Fashion Retail Borrowing in Korea)

  • 现在已有一些旨在解决韩国不道德消费行为的研究, 然而大部分研究把重心放在购买假冒伪劣产品或者入店行窃上. 服装的高额回报率和曾经的服装回扣被认为是时尚产业的问题领域. 然而, 很少研究者致力于这一问题的解决. 因此, 本研究目的在于, 通过使用一种混合的方法路径来探讨消费者零售借贷的经验. 实验一主要通过小组面谈的方式来探讨韩国消费者零售借贷的经验. 实验二通过在线调查的结果显示服装消费者对于零售借贷行为的态度. 调查结果促进了研究人员和从业人员对于零售借贷行为的理解, 同时也深入洞察了服装零售业中的零售借贷问题. 在研究1中, 我们把在过去一年中有零售借贷行为的人分成七组进行五次集中讨论. 参加了这次讨论的韩国消费者中, 有35个在大城市居住. 大部分消费者都是20来岁(21岁), 且以女性居多(24个). 大部分的参与者从一个零售商处购进一批服装, 然后对旧的衣物不是要求全额退款就是就是要求将旧的衣物更换成新的. 零售借贷行为的动机包括社会需要, 工作需要, 时尚需要和 "智能购物" 的理念. 与其他国家现有的研究的结论相似, 在分析时装商店的零售借贷现象时, 最经常被提到的原因是社会需要. 而消费者的道德价值观, 对大公司的态度, 以往的借贷消费经历, 也被认为是影响消费者的零售借贷行为的可能因素. 在研究2中, 收集数据的问卷是基于第一部分研究的成果和其他现有研究结果设计的. 问卷的问题主要关注消费者的道德信仰, 寻求刺激的倾向, 自我价值, 过去的零售工作经验, 零售贷款的经验, 以及他们的一些群体特征等等. 数据的收集是由首尔一家商业网络研究公司的在线调查小组来完成的. 为了保证样本的多样化和有效性, 该公司设计了这样的抽样配额(男: 女= 1:1, 20岁: 30岁: 40岁= 1:1:1, 零售经验: 没有零售经验= 1:3). 共有401个在前6个月有过购买服装经历的消费者参加了这次网上调查. 结果显示19.7%的受访者都表示他们曾经有过借贷购买时尚商品的经历. 在这些受访者中, 男性借贷人约占57%, 多于女性借贷人. 通过年龄的分布来看, x2 显示在拥有或者没有零售借贷经历的受访人之间存在着统计学上的差异: 有41.8%的受访者是在40岁的时候拥有零售借贷经历, 而那些没有零售借贷经历的受访者大约分布在20岁到40岁之间. 在收入方面, 拥有或者没有零售借贷经历的受访者之间也有很大的不同: 前者较于后者, 收入要高一些. T测试主要是在有或者没有零售借贷经验的受访者之间进行比较, 对比他们的时尚购物行为, 道德信念, 感觉寻求的倾向和对零售借贷行为的态度. 与那些没有借贷经验的受访者相比, 有经验者更趋向于频繁的购买时尚物品或者花费更多的钱用在购买时尚物品上. 有借贷购买经验的顾客往往比无经验者有更高的寻求新奇刺激的倾向. 一份回馈的分析表明对于时尚物品零售借贷购买的态度和顾客的道德信仰呈负相关, 但是与每月购买时尚物品的频率, 对新奇事物感觉趋向的走势以及过去的时尚物品零售借贷的经验呈正相关. 在这些变数之中, 过往的零售借贷经验是最重要的预测因素, 道德信念紧随其后. 本次研究作为初次尝试旨在了解零售借贷行为基础背后的动机和影响这些行为的要素. 这次研究的结果可以使我们对消费者零售借贷行为有更深一步的理解, 并为解决方法提供一个基础, 以帮助减少零售借贷行为和时装零售商店的不适当回扣. 这个结果也可以长期为消费者教育提供资料. 为了更好的理解时尚零售借贷行为, 未来还有更多的研究亟待进行.

Examining the Functions of Attributes of Mobile Applications to Build Brand Community

  • Mobile fashion apps present much opportunity for marketers to engage consumers, however not all apps provide enough functions for their targeted audience. This study aims to determine how mobile fashion apps can be used to build brand community with consumer engagement. Qualitative data on fashion mobile apps were collected from the Apple app store and Android market during the spring and summer of 2015. A total of 110 fashion mobile apps were collected;, 50 apps were identified as apparel brands that either manufacture or sell apparel to consumers, which we categorized as "brand" fashion apps, and the remaining 60 were categorized as "non-brand" fashion apps. The result of the study can be summarized as below. The 60 non-brand fashion apps were grouped into 5 app types: shopping, searching, sharing, organizational, and informational. The main functions are for informational use and shopping needs, since at least half (31 apps) are used for either retrieving information or for shopping. However, in contrast, social networking and location were infrequent and not commonly utilized by these apps. The most common type of non-brand fashion apps available were shopping apps;, many shopping apps enable users to shop from several different websites and save their items into one universal shopping cart so that they only check out once. Most of these apps are informational and help consumers make more informed decisions on purchases;, in addition many offer location services to help consumers find these items in store. While these apps perform several functions, they do not link to social media. The 50 brand apps were grouped into 5 brand types: athletic, casual, fast fashion, luxury, and retailer. These apps were also checked for attributes to determine their functionality. The result shows that the main functions of brand fashion apps are for information (82% of the 50 apps) as well as location searching (72% of 50 apps). Conversely, these apps do not offer any photo sharing, and very few have organizational or community functions. Fashion mobile apps and m-marketing elements: To build brand community, mobile apps can be designed to motivate consumer's engagement with brands. The motivations of fashion mobile apps are useful in developing fashion mobile apps. Entertainment motives can be fulfilled with multimedia attributes, functionality motives are satisfied with organizational and location-based features, information motives with informational service, socialization with community and social network, learning and intellectual stimulation from informational attributes, and trend following through photo sharing. The 8 key attributes of mobile apps can correspond to the 4 m-marketing elements (i.e., Informative content, multimedia, interactions, and product promotions) that are further intertwined with m-branding elements. App Attributes and M-Marketing aim to Build Brand Community;, the eight key attributes can impact on 4 m-branding elements, which further contribute to building brand community by affecting consumers' perceptions of brands preference and advocacy, and their likelihood to be loyal.

패션 브랜드 어플리케이션의 특징적 유형 분석 - 한국 계정 어플리케이션 사례를 중심으로 - (The Analysis of the Characteristic Types of Fashion Brand Application - Concentrating on Korean Application cases -)

  • This study systematically analyzed types of fashion brand application focusing on accounts created in Korea. While referring to 'Chanel' which has developed a fashion brand app for the first time in August of 2008, not only for App store by Apple Inc. of the greatest market share but also for Android market, the one and only competitor of App store, the study examined cases of fashion brand app in Korea and foreign countries which have been in service till August of 2013 since the year of 2008. To achieve the research goal, the study conducted a literature research and a case review, categorizing the app by their distinctive functions which were Basic Information, SNS, AR, LBS, Entertainment, Mobile Shopping and Live Streaming. As for the first function, Basic Information, it was considered to provide information on a brand such as prices, sizes and colors of products which should be the most fundamental function of a fashion brand. The function would include look book, catalogues, photographs and others of products, helping users of the app with their understanding on images and concepts of the brand. Second, SNS function was considered useful for its mobility and communication and with the help of theirs, the users share fashion information with each other. Third, AR function as in a filed of virtual reality would edit virtual objects to look real in an actual environment. This would eventually offer the users a chance to try for clothes virtually. The fourth function, LBS, would work with GPS to find a store closest from a present location. This would be a help when the users try to find stores holding promotion events or trails while hiking in mountains. The fifth Entertainment function would include all sorts of games and chances for the users to listen to music and keep fashion diaries. The sixth function, Mobile Shopping, would help the users purchase items online via the app as they would not visit a store in person. The seventh function, Live Streaming, would give the users chances to actually see fashion collections in real time, held all over the world in every season. Because of this function, not only fashion experts but also regular people have become able to enjoy the fashion shows. The distinctive characteristics of the fashion brand application discussed in the study will be a useful reference when any relevant fields try to design other new fashion brand application.

  • Ever-evolving diverse communication tools bring numerous changes and improvements into the lives of humans. It is extremely important to provide visual information when communicating with consumers in the commercial arena because humans acquire over eighty percent of the information around them through sense of sight. One cannot compete with just sheer quality in today's world. Therefore, the applications of digital technology in the visual merchandising became crucial, for it can dramatically improve the market value. Among these applications is digital signage, a new media for esthetic experience. I strongly believe that this would be a new marketing tool for the brand's distinctive and unique publicity. This research has been conducted in order to find out how the fast-growing digital signage, defined by the contents, has become not just a mere digital video clip but an esthetic merchandising tool that can produce various effective marketing strategies; and to discover the characteristics that this application has brought out in the visual merchandising field of fashion stores' global SPA brands. Based on the market case study, analyses have been made for the digital signage types and strategies regarding the visual merchandising expressive elements and for the effects the digital signage application will have on publicity. According to the results, the digital signage has proven to be informative, diversely applicable and contributes greatly to the increase in sales and to the improvement of company and brand image. Thus, it is much more than just a media tool for advertisement.
