일본과 중국 언론인들의 반한류 인식 (Japanese and Chinese Journalists' Views on Anti-Korean Wave)

  • 본 연구에서는 일본과 중국을 중심으로 한류의 공적인 담론 생산자이자 전달자인 언론인들이 인식하는 각국의 반한류 정서가 어느 수준으로 이해되며 어디에서 기인된 것인지, 그리고 그들이 인식하는 대안은 무엇인지 살펴보았다. 연구 결과, 한중일로 대변되는 동북아시아지역은 역사와 정치, 문화갈등에서 비롯된 반한 감정이 반한류에 영향을 미치는 양상을 보인다. 일본과 중국에서의 반한 감정은 지정학적 특수성과 역사적 관계가 문화 수용을 이해하는 기본 구조로 기능하며, 인터넷과 SNS 등을 통해 표출되고 전파되는 공통점을 보인다. 즉, 반한류 현상이 한류 콘텐츠에 대한 현지 수용자의 직접적인 반감이나 불만에서 비롯되지 않는다는 것이다. 하지만 양국 간의 차이도 감지되었다. 일본의 경우 반한류가 주로 '반한' 감정의 다른 표현에 불과한데 반해, 중국의 경우는 반한 감정이 실제로 한류 콘텐츠에 대한 불만을 촉발하거나, 반한류 감정으로 전환되거나, 접합되는 경향을 보인다는 점을 알 수 있었다.

Numerical Investigation of Anti-Diffusion Source Term for Free-Surface Wave Flow

  • Accurate simulation of free-surface wave flows around a ship is very important for better hull-form design. In this paper, a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) code which is based on the open source libraries, OpenFOAM, was developed to predict the wave patterns around a ship. Additional anti-diffusion source term for minimizing a numerical diffusion, which was caused by convection differencing scheme, was considered in the volume-fraction transport equation. The influence of the anti-diffusion source term was tested by applying it to free-surface wave flow around the Wigley and KCS model ships. In results, the wave patterns and hull wave profiles of the Wigley and KCS model ships for various anti-diffusion coefficients showed quite close patterns. While, the band width of the water volume-fraction values between 0.1 to 0.9 at the Wigley and KCS model hull surfaces was narrowed by considering the anti-diffusion term. From the results, anti-diffusion source term decreased free-surface smearing.

Between Love and Hate: The New Korean Wave, Japanese Female Fans, and Anti-Korean Sentiment in Japan

  • Despite the enormous success in Japan of Korean popular culture, including TV dramas and K-pop, over the past few decades, anti-Korean sentiment in the country has become increasingly visible and intense. In this article, we examine how young Japanese female fans of Korean popular culture engage with the Korean Wave discourse while also engaging with―or, rather, disengaging from―anti-Korean movements and hate speech. Whereas previous scholarship on the Korean Wave has emphasized the power of active fans' agency, this paper investigates how the fans who passionately and self-reflexively consume Korean popular culture understand and react to the growing anti-Korean sentiment in Japan. Through in-depth interviews with 15 of these fans in their 20s and 30s, we show how they have navigated the discursive space between appreciation for Korean culture and anti-Koreanism in Japan.

동남아시아 반한류에 나타난 문화적 갈등과 특성: 인도네시아와 베트남을 중심으로 (Cultural Conflicts and Characteristics of Anti-Korean Wave in Southeast Asia: Case Studies of Indonesia and Vietnam)

  • 동남아시아 국가 중 한류의 강력한 수용국가라 할 수 있는 인도네시아와 베트남은 한류시장의 높은 성장률을 보이면서 동시에 반한류적 담론 역시 빈번하게 발생하는 추세를 보인다. 두 나라의 온라인 담론 분석과 일반인 수용자 인터뷰를 통해 반한류에 나타난 문화적 갈등과 특성을 분석한 결과, 두 나라는 온라인에서 반한류 담론이 활발하게 형성되고 유포된다는 점, 그리고 반한류 현상을 자연스러운 문화적 현상의 하나로 인식한다는 점에서 공통점을 보이면서 다음과 같은 차이를 드러내고 있다. 인도네시아는 한류 콘텐츠가 자국 종교와 문화적, 도덕적 가치 측면에서 충돌을 일으킨다는 점에서 비판하면서 한류 콘텐츠가 사회의 도덕을 훼손하는 요인으로 인식되며 반한류 담론이 형성된다. 따라서 반한류의 정서들은 문화정체성을 수호하고자 하는 문화민족주의로 연결된다. 반면 베트남의 반한류 정서는 문화정체성이나 문화민족주의 정서로 발전하는 모습은 두드러지지 않는다. 대신 케이팝 열성팬으로 인한 사회문제와 세대 갈등이 반한류의 주된 요인으로 지적되며, 케이팝 열성팬을 병리적 현상으로 접근하면서 치료와 교육이 필요한 문제로 인식한다. 또한 케이팝의 성적 선정성 뿐 아니라, 케이팝 아이돌의 실력 없음을 인스턴트 음식에 빗대 '라면 아이돌'이라고 부르면서 한류 비판의 근거로 삼기도 한다. 케이팝 뿐 아니라 한국 드라마는 진부한 전형성과 반복되는 내용의 유사성, 감정 과잉과 비현실성이 문제로 지적되며 이는 한류에 대한 반감의 근거로서 제시된다. 두 나라의 인터뷰 참여자들은 공통적으로 이러한 반한류 현상을 해결되어야 할 문제라기보다는 자연스러운 문화적 현실로 수용하고 있었다.

Effect of Hysteresis on Interface Waves in Contact Surfaces

  • This paper describes a theoretical model and acoustic analysis of hysteresis of contacting surfaces subject to compression pressure. Contacting surfaces known to be nonlinear and hysteretic is considered as a simple spring that has a complex stiffness connecting discontinuous displacements between two solid contact boundaries. Mathematical formulation for 1-D interfacial wave propagation between two contacting solids is developed using the complex spring model to derive the dispersion relation between the interface wave speed and the complex interfacial stiffness. Existence of the interface wave propagating along the hysteretic interface is studied in theory and discussed by investigating the solution to the dispersion equation. Unlike the linear interface without hysteresis, there can exist only one distinct mode of interface waves for the hysteretic interface, which is anti-symmetric motion. The anti-symmetric mode of interface wave propagates with the velocity faster than the Rayleigh surface wave but less than the shear wave depending on the interfacial stiffness. If the contacting surfaces are compressed so much that the linear interfacial stiffness is very high, the hysteretic stiffness does not affect the interface wave velocity. However, it has an effect on the speed of interface wave for a loosely contact surfaces with a relatively low linear stiffness. It is also found that the phase velocity of anti-symmetric wave mode converges to the shear wave velocity in despite of the linear stiffness value if the hysteretic stiffness approaches 0.5.

The Physical Methods for Induction of Anti-Bacterial Substances in the Silkworm Larva, Bombyx mori

  • To understand the physical method for induction of anti-bacterial substances from the silkworm larvae, Bombyx mori, three physical methods, i.e., infrared radiation, ultraviolet radiation and ultrasonic wave, have been used in this study. The results have shown that ultrasonic wave can induce anti-bacterial sub-stances effectively than radiations in the B. mori larva. The induction of anti-bacterial substances was different from silkworm race to race. Summer-autumn silkworm race (Qiufeng${\times}$Baiyu) was easy to induce antibacterial substances. It is suggested that the ultrasonic wave is a simple and easy method for induction.

한류콘텐츠 이용정도가 중국인의 혐한정서에 미치는 영향 : 한류호감 한국인에 대한 긍정적 인식의 이차매개효과검증을 중심으로 (Effect of Young Chinese's Consuming of Korean Cultural Wave Contents on Their Anti-Korean Sentiment: Focusing the Second-order Mediators of Both Liking for Korean Wave and Positive Perceptions of Koreans)

  • 이 연구는 중국 젊은이들의 한국 드라마, 영화, 음악 등의 한류콘텐츠 이용이 혐한 감정에 미칠 수 있는 영향은 어느 정도이며, 한류에 대한 호감 및 한국인에 대한 긍정적 감정이 혐한 감정에 미치는 이차매개 효과를 실증적으로 규명하기 위해서 연구모형을 제시하고 검증하였다. 조사대상자는 중국의 7개성의 11개 도시에 거주하는 10대 및 20대 남 녀 중국인들(695명)이다. 자료 분석결과 밝혀진 내용은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 한류콘텐츠 이용이 증가할수록 혐한 감정 또한 증가하는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 둘째, 한류콘텐츠 이용이 많을수록 한류에 대한 호감도 높았고, 한류 호감이 증가할수록 한국인에 대해서 보다 긍정적인 인식을 가지고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 한류에 대한 호감이 증가할수록, 그리고 한국인에 대한 긍정적인 인식이 뚜렷할수록, 중국인들의 혐한 감정이 감소하였다. 따라서 한류 호감과 한국인에 대한 긍정적 인식은 한류콘텐츠 이용정도에 따른 혐한 감정의 증가 현상을 유의하게 완화시킬 수 있는 중요한 각각의 매개 요인임과 동시에 이차 매개 요인임이 실증적으로 규명되었다. 주요 발견점을 토대로 함의를 모색하며 논의하였다.

Design of the Electronic Anti-Fouling System for a Wave Energy Converter

  • There are many difficulties to supply constant power to marine facilities which operate in the sea. Especially, there is a limit to stand alone power supply systems due to the influence of weather conditions. That's why a hybrid power supply system is required to overcome these problems. This paper will describe an Electronic Anti-Fouling System (EAFS) to maximise the power efficiency for a solar - wave hybrid power generation system. A main factor reducing the efficiency of a Wave Energy Converter (WEC) is due to the attachment of aquatic life forms. Therefore the aim of this research is to develop a simulation programme to enable the design of more efficient EAFS for hybrid power generation systems and to provide valuable data for production of more efficient EAFS.

Coupled Motion Simulation of the Mobile Harbor and Anti-Rolling Devices in Waves

  • The Mobile Harbor(MH) is a new transportation platform that can load and unload containers to and from very large container ships in the sea. This loading and unloading by crane can be performed with only very small movements of the MH in waves because MH is operated outside of the harbor. For this reason, an anti-rolling tank(ART) and an active mass driving system(AMD) were designed to reduce MH's roll motion, especially at the natural frequency of MH. In the conceptual design stage, it is difficult to confirm the design result of theses anti-rolling devices without modeling and simulation tools. Therefore, the coupled MH and anti-rolling devices' dynamic equations in waves were derived and a simulation program that can analyze the roll reduction performance in various conditions, such as sea state, wave direction, and so on, was developed. The coupled equations are constructed as an eight degrees of freedom (DOF) motion that consists of MH's six DOF dynamics and the ART's and AMD's control variables. In order to conveniently include the ART's and AMD's control dynamics in the time domain, MH's radiated wave force was described by an impulse response function derived by the damping coefficient obtained in the frequency domain, and wave exciting forces such as Froude-Krylov force and diffraction force and nonlinear buoyancy were calculated at every simulation time interval. Finally, the roll reduction performances of the designed anti-rolling devices were successfully assessed in the various loading and wave conditions by using a developed simulation program.
