In this study, we detected electromagnetic waves generated in an enclosed switchgear and applied various statistical methods for detecting signals. We calculated the various statistical factors via the appropriate statistical methods. Further, we used these statistics to recognize the characteristics for each pattern by identifying the partial discharge in each case for normal, proceeding and abnormal states. The characteristics of electromagnetic wave patterns occurred in various states at electric power facilities and were used as an output variable for more efficient diagnosis. In this paper, we confirmed that the pattern of partial discharge signal can be used as one of the factors used to analyze the insulation state and to consider while estimating diagnosis of insulation states by recognizing the signal pattern to intelligence. We will utilize the proposed diagnosis method to determine insulation degradation states.

The paper deals with the analysis of radiation characteristics of antenna in the multi-layered media structures. The dyadic Green's function for three layer medium is complex because the Green's functions belonging to the kernel of the integral equation are expressed as Sommerfeld integrals, in which surface wave effects are automatically included. When certain condition are met, the integral can be evaluated approximated by the method of Saddle-point integration. In this study, we propose a method to calculate a radiation pattern for several antennas by using the method of Saddle-point integration. Numerical results show how the radiation characteristics are affected by parameter of dielectric media.

In this paper, design of series-fed microstrip antennas with sum and difference patterns is presented for millimeter-wave applications. The antenna was designed to exhibit high-gain and low side-lobe level(SLL) below -20 dB. A conventional transmission-line model, Taylor and Bayliss distributions were employed to determine current distribution for sum and difference patterns. Moreover, connecting lines between microstrip patches were tuned to achieve an optimized design. The measurement was also performed to validate the designed antennas.

This paper describes beam-tilting characteristics of horizontally polarized EMCD (electromagnetically coupled dipole) array antennas. The result of one element radiator is used for array elements designs and is evaluated its characteristics. Theoretical frequency characteristics and radiation pattern of the horizontally polarized EMCD array antennas analyzed by FDTD method agree well with the measured results of the practically fabricated way antennas. The measured main beam tilt ang1e and 3 dB beam width of the fabricated 20-element array antennas are 47$^{\circ}$and about $\pm$7.5$^{\circ}$, respectively. A good radiation pattern and beam tilting characteristics are observed in experiments.

Ka-band payload of COMS (Communication, Ocean and Meteorological Satellite) launched in June 2010 was developed by ETRI with Korean local companies and also the in-orbit test (IOT) for the Ka-band payload was carried out entirely with domestic technology. The Ka-band payload IOT consisted of the antenna pattern measurements and the payload RF performance test was performed during about 40 days from 10 days after the launch. In this paper, the IOT methods and the results for the Ka-band payload are described in detail. According to the comparisons of each IOT test result with the corresponding ground test result, we can show that the Ka-band payload IOT and verification was successfully achieved and that all Ka-band channels of COMS are to be normal.

For the underwater localization, acoustic sensor systems are widely used due to greater penetration properties of acoustic signals in underwater environments. On the other hand, the good penetration property causes multipath and interference effects in structured environment too. To overcome this demerit, a localization method using the attenuation of electro-magnetic(EM) waves was proposed in several literatures, in which distance estimation and 2D-localization experiments show remarkable results. However, in 3D-localization application, the estimation difficulties increase due to the nonuniform (doughnut like) radiation pattern of an omni-directional antenna related to the depth direction. For solving this problem, we added a depth sensor for improving underwater 3D-localization with the EM wave method. A micro scale pressure sensor is located in the mobile node antenna, and the depth data from the pressure sensor is calibrated by the curve fitting algorithm. We adapted the depth(z) data to 3D EM wave pattern model for the error reduction of the localization. Finally, some experiments were executed for 3D localization with the fast calculation and less errors.

Radar system must estimate exactly quickness and target in interference channel. Because interference of radio channel is multipath channel by artificial structure and nature structure. signal estimation is difficult. As long as, get rid of interference signal have been study digital beamforming, adaptive array antenna and so on. In this paper, proposed SPT-SALCMV beamforming algorithm get rid of coherent interference algorithm and adaptive array antenna. Adaptive array forms null pattern and reduces gains for direction of interference signal. And estimate signal that want by keeping gains of beam pattern changelessly to target signal direction. In this paper, proposed SPT-SALCMV algorithm was exactly received position of target. But general SPT-LCMV algorithm resulted beam error about 30degrees. Therefore, proved that SPT-SALCMV algerian that propose in this paper is more excellent than genaral SPT-LCMV algorithm.

This paper describes a shaped-beam antenna for increasing the antenna gain of a radiating element. The proposed antenna structure is composed of an exciting element and a multi-layered disk array structure(MDAS). The stack micro-strip patch elements were used as the exciter for effectively radiating the electromagnetic power to the MDAS over the broadband, and finite metallic disk array elements - which give the role of a director for shaping the antenna beam with the high gain - were finitely and periodically layered onto it. The efficient power coupling between the exciter and the MDAS should be carried out in such a way that the proposed antenna has a high gain characteristic. The design parameters of the exciter and the MDAS should be optimized together to meet the required specifications to meet the required specifications. In this study, a shaped-beam antenna with high gain was optimally designed under the operating conditions with a linear polarization and the frequency band of $9.6{\sim}10.4\;GHz$. Two methods constructed using thin dielectric film and dielectric foam materials respectively were also proposed in order to implement the MBAS of the antenna. In particular, through the computer simulation process, the electrical performance variations of the antenna with the MDAS realized by the thin dielectric film materials were shown according to the number of disk array elements in the stack layer. Two kinds of antenna breadboard with the MDAS realized with the thin dielectric film and dielectric foam materials were fabricated, but experimentation was conducted only on the antenna breadboard(Type 1) with the MDAS realized with the thin dielectric film materials according to the number of disk array elements in the stack layer in order to compare it with the electrical performance variations obtained during the simulation. The measured antenna gain performance was found to be in good agreement with the simulated one, and showed the periodicity of the antenna gain variations according to the stack layer number of the disk array elements. The electrical performance of the Type 1 antenna was measured at the center frequency of 10 GHz. As the disk away elements became the ten stacks, a maximum antenna gain of 15.65 dBi was obtained, and the measured return loss was not less than 11.4 dB within the operating band. Therefore, a 5 dB gain improvement of the Type 1 antenna can be obtained by the MDAS that is excited by the stack microstrip patch elements. As the disk array elements became the twelve stacks, the antenna gain of the Type 1 was measured to be 1.35 dB more than the antenna gain of the Type 2 by the outer dielectric ring effect, and the 3 dB beam widths measured from the two antenna breadboards were about $28^{\circ}$ and $36^{\circ}$ respectively.

In this paper, design and fabrication for inset fed microstrip patch antennas applied to the $3{\times}3$ array CSLR and eight CSLR, respectively, to the ground plane are studied. The theoretical results are compared to the experimental results for the return loss and radiation pattern. For 'CSLR 09' antenna, the theoretical result for the resonant frequency and the return loss are 2.82 GHz and - 25.35 dB, respectively. The experimental results are obtained for a 2.885 GHz, -30.72 dB. Theoretical results for the resonant frequency and the return loss of the 'CSLR 08' antenna are 2.82 GHz, -16.77 dB, respectively, and the experimental results are obtained for a 2.885 GHz, -14.90 dB. In addition, E-plane and H-plane radiation patterns in comparison with designed and fabricated antennas are in good agreement.

For the far field radiation pattern of a microstrip array antenna which is conformed to a cylindrical surface and forms an arc array, an approximate analysis method using FOURIER TRANSFORM is presented. In this method, the conformal array antenna is projected on the effective aperture plane and assumed to be an aperiodic array with nonlinear phase tilt. The effective aperture plane includes four end-points of each arc on the cylindrical surface. When the effective aperture ratio which is normalized to the planar type is from 1.0 to 0.9, it is confirmed that this approximate method is valid. To the array on the effective aperture plane, it is assumed that the phase tilt is due to the distance between aperture plne and curvature surface. Specially, when the radius of arc is more than 5 times to its length, the FOURIER TRANSFORM METHOD could be used with only varying scale factors. The results of calculating by approximate method are good agreement with the results of COORDINATE TRANSFORM METHOD and experimentally measured value in the range of -40dB. And, the difference of half power angle is less than 5 degrees when the effective aperture ratio moer than 0.9.
