임분생장량(林分生長量) 추정(推定)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究) (Study on the Estimation of Volume Increment for the Pitch Pine Forest)

  • 1. 본(本) 조사(調査) 16년생(年生)의 리기다소나무임분(林分)에 대(對)한 재적생장량(材積生長量)과 장래(將來)의 임분재적예측(林分材積豫測) 임분표법(林分表法)에 의하여 추정(推定)한 것이다. 2. 직경성장량(直徑成長量) 조사(調査)는 'Meyer'의 Increment borer법(法)에 의하고 단목재적(單木材積)은 기(旣) 조사(調査)된 V=0.000058 $D^{1.8}{\times}{\cdot}H^{1.1}$의 재적식(材積式)에 의하여 각각(各各) 조사(調査)되었다. 3. 0.33ha의 표준지(標準地)를 설정(設定)하고 표준지내(標準地內) 339본(本)의 임목(林木)에 대(對)하여 95%의 신뢰도(信賴度)로서 조사(調査)한 결과(結果)는 다음과 같다. 1) 직경(直徑)에 대(對)한 직경연년성장량(直徑連年成長量)의 회귀식(回歸式)은 Y=0.1618 +0.0298x. 이다. 2) 2cm 괄약(括約)의 직경분포(直徑分布)에서 전임목(全林木) 본수(本數)의 약(約) 90%가 완전(完全) 1계급(階級) 진급(進級)을 하였다. 3) 임분재적성장율(林分材積成長率)은 16%의 고도(高度)의 성장율(成長率)을 나타냈다. 4) 5개년간(個年間)의 재적성장량(材積成長量)은 46%의 증가율(增加率) 보이고있다.

Complication After Gastrectomy for Gastric Cancer According to Hospital Volume: Based on Korean Gastric Cancer Association-Led Nationwide Survey Data

  • Purpose: This study aimed to analyze the incidence and risk factors of complications following gastric cancer surgery in Korea and to compare the correlation between hospital complications based on the annual number of gastrectomies performed. Materials and Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted using data from 12,244 patients from 64 Korean institutions. Complications were classified using the Clavien-Dindo classification (CDC). Univariate and multivariate analyses were performed to identify the risk factors for severe complications. Results: Postoperative complications occurred in 14% of the patients, severe complications (CDC IIIa or higher) in 4.9%, and postoperative death in 0.2%. The study found that age, stage, American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) score, Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) score, hospital stay, approach methods, and extent of gastric resection showed statistically significant differences depending on hospital volumes (P<0.05). In the univariate analysis, patient age, comorbidity, ASA score, ECOG score, approach methods, extent of gastric resection, tumor-node-metastasis (TNM) stage, and hospital volume were significant risk factors for severe complications. However, only age, sex, ASA score, ECOG score, extent of gastric resection, and TNM stage were statistically significant in the multivariate analysis (P<0.05). Hospital volume was not a significant risk factor in the multivariate analysis (P=0.152). Conclusions: Hospital volume was not a significant risk factor for complications after gastric cancer surgery. The differences in the frequencies of complications based on hospital volumes may be attributed to larger hospitals treating patients with younger age, lower ASA scores, better general conditions, and earlier TNM stages.

기후변화에 따른 유역의 물수지 변화 (Water Balance Change of Watershed by Climate Change)

  • 본 연구에서는 기후변화에 따른 수문요소의 변동을 파악하기 위해 섬진강댐과 소양강댐 유역의 물순환 과정에 미치는 영향을 분석 평가하였다. 그 결과를 정리하자면 다음과 같다. 먼저 지난 30년간 기온과 강수량은 점차 증가하는 경향이 뚜렷하게 나타나고 있으나 증발산량은 지역에 따라 상이하게 나타나고 있으며 연평균 기온상승과 연증발산량의 증가가 정의 관계에 있다고 볼 수 없었다. Penman-FAO24법에 기초한 기후학적 물수지방법과 실측값은 서로 유의한 것으로 밝혀져 국내 물수지 연구에 사용가능한 것으로 사료된다. 한편 연강수량 증대에 따라 연유출량의 증가는 인정되나 연유출률에 대한 변동은 실측값과 계산값 간의 변동이 상이하게 나타나고 있어 기후변화의 영향이 유역의 유출특성에 크게 영향을 미치고 있다고 단정하기 어렵다. 기후변화에 의한 수자원관리와 재난관리에 큰 어려움이 예상되고 있다는 것은 이미 널리 알려진 사실이다. 이에 대한 적절한 대응방안을 강구하기 위해서는 유역의 기후학적 조건과 수문학적 변동성에 대한 깊은 이해가 필요하며 보다 조밀한 수문관측망의 구축과 신뢰도 높은 자료의 축적이 전제되어야 할 것이다.

정수장 슬러지 폭기를 통한 방류수 수질 개선 (Improvement of effluent water quality by sludge aeration at the conventional drinking water treatment plant)

  • So many drinking water treatment plants are under various difficulties by new reinforced effluent standards. Since the target turbidity, much higher than annual average, for designing sludge thickener have to be set to confront high turbidity season, the sludge at thickener should be put up for a long time during usual days. So the soluble manganese and chloroform may be formed under the anaerobic environment in the sludge thickener when the sludge retention time is longer with low turbidity. This phenomenon results in difficulties to keep regulatory level of the discharged effluent. For an effort to overcome the problems, a sludge aeration was successfully implemented into the thickening process. As a result, the final effluent quality and sludge volume were much improved; 41 % of manganese, 62 % of chloroform and 35 % of sludge volume. Additionally, effluent quality was improved ; 61 % of Manganese on aeration with pH control and we could make sure of stability effluent quality despite a long sludge retention time. We recommended the standard of installation sludge aeration equipment to nationally supply water treatment plant under effluent water quality problem ; Manganese, Chloroform, etc.

효율적인 교통량 조사를 계획하기 위한 조사구간의 통계적 특성 분류 연구 (Statistical Classification of Highway Segments for Improving the Efficiency of Short-term Traffic Count Planning)

  • PURPOSES : The demand for extending national highways is increasing, but traffic monitoring is hindered because of resource limitations. Hence, this study classified highway segments into 5 types to improve the efficiency of short-term traffic count planning. METHODS : The traffic volume trends of 880 highway segments were classified through R-squared and linear regression analyses; the steadiness of traffic volume trends was evaluated through coefficient of variance (COV), and the normality of the data were determined through the Shapiro-Wilk W-test. RESULTS : Of the 880 segments, 574 segments had relatively low COV and were classified as type 1 segments, and 123 and 64 segments with increasing and decreasing traffic volume trends were classified as type 2 and type 3 segments, respectively; 80 segments that failed the normality test were classified as type 4, and the remaining 39 were classified as type 5 segments. CONCLUSIONS : A theoretical basis for biennial count planning was established. Biennial count is recommended for types 1~4 because their mean absolute percentage errors (MAPEs) are approximately 10%. For type 5 (MAPE =19.26%), the conventional annual count can be continued. The results of this analysis can reduce the traffic monitoring budget.

  • 화물운송시장의 분할은 운송시장의 효율화를 기하고 운송인이 물동량을 유치하기 위한 전략을 알기 위해 사용된다 화주 개개인의 성향을 파악하기 어려우므로 화주를 동질성을 갖는 몇 개의 군집으로 묶어 집단의 성향을 파악한다. 우리나라의 경우 표준산업분류의 배열순서에 따라 시장분할을 하여 왔다. 본 연구는 제조업체를 대상으로 새로운 운송시장 분할 가능성을 평가하였다. 연구의 결과 시장분할을 위한 적정 기준은 연간 입 출하량으로 우수한 분할능력을 보였다 또한 표준산업분류표의 배열순서에 따른 시장분할과 다른 결과를 도출하였다 본 연구는 물동량 발생 주체인 제조업체의 규모와 출하특성을 나타내는 자료를 이용하여 운송시장을 분할한 시도로서 의의가 있다.

Energy Saving Potential and Indoor Air Quality Benefits of Multiple Zone Dedicated Outdoor Air System

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the indoor air quality (IAQ) and energy benefits of a dedicated outdoor air system (DOAS) and compare them with a conventional variable air volume (VAV) system. The DOAS is a decoupled system that supplies only outdoor air, while reducing its consumption using an enthalpy wheel. The VAV system supplies air that is mixed outdoor and transferred indoor. The VAV has the issue of unbalanced ventilation in each room in multiple zones because it supplies mixing air. The DOAS does not have this problem because it supplies only outdoor air. That is, the DOAS is a 100% outdoor air system and the VAV is an air conditioning system. The transient simulations of carbon dioxide concentration and energy consumption were performed using a MATLAB program based on the thermal loads from the model predicted by the TRNSYS 18 program. The results indicated that when the air volume is large, such as in summer, the distribution of air is not appropriate in the VAV system. The DOAS however, supplies the outdoor air stably. Moreover, in terms of annual primary energy consumption, the DOAS consumed approximately 40% less energy than the VAV system.

중부지방 굴참나무림의 입지환경에 따른 생장 및 수분생리 특성에 관한 연구 (Growth Properties and Characteristics of Water Relation Parameters for a Forest of Quercus variabilis by Enviromental Factors)

  • 본 연구는 우리나라 중부지방의 굴참나무 천연 임분을 대상으로 입지환경별 생장 및 수분생리 특성을 파악하여 합리적인 경영방안을 제시하기 위하여 수행되었다. 연구 대상지의 굴참나무림은 평균 206.5 ㎥/ha을 나타냈으며, 각 방위별로 본수, 단면적, 재적 등의 임분 통계량을 보면 북사면에서 남사면으로 갈수록 증가하는 경향을 보이고 있지만 연년생장량과 10년간의 정기평균 생장량은 반대로 남사면에서 가장 낮은 값을 나타내고 있다. 오후 12∼14시 사이에 측정된 최대 수분포텐셜(Ψw)을 각 방위 및 고도별로 구분하여 분석한 결과 굴참나무는 북사면에서 남사면으로 가면서 수분포텐셜이 낮아지는 경향을 보였으며, 고도별 수분포텐셜은 상부에서 하부로 가면서 증가하였다. 각 방위별 토양 수분함량은 북사면에서 남사면으로 가면서 감소하는 경향을 나타냈고, 토양 수분함량에 따른 굴참나무의 수분포텐셜은 고도의 음의 상관관계를 나타냈다. 따라서 연구 대상지의 굴참나무는 남사면에서 수분 요구도가 높은데, 이는 다른 사면 보다 생육 본수가 많아 종내 경쟁이 심한 결과로 판단된다.

Observations of the Cheju Current

  • The Cheju Current (CC), defined here as a mean eastward flow in the Cheju Strait, mostly carries water of high temperature and salinity originating from the Kuroshio in winter and spring, the Cheju Warm Current Water (CWCW). The strong core of the eastward component of the CC is found close to Cheju Island (Cheju-Do, hereafter) in winter and spring with a peak speed of about 17.0 cm/s. The eastward flow weakens towards the northern Cheju Strait, and a weak westward flow occurs occasionally close to the southern coast of Korea. The volume transport ranges from 0.37 to 0.45 Sv(1 Sv=10$^6$ m$^3$/s) in winter and spring. Seasonal thermocline and harocline are formed in summer and eroded in November. The occurrence of the CWCW is confined in the southern Cheju Strait close to Cheju-Do below the seasonal thermocline in summer and fall, and cold water occupies the lower layer north of the CWCW which is thought to be brought into the area from the area west of Cheju-Do along with the CWCW. Stratification acts to increase both the speed of the CC with a peak speed of greater than 30 cm/s and the vertical shear of the along-strait currents. The strong core of the CC detached from the coast of Cheju-Do and shifted to the north during the stratified seasons. The volume transport in summer and fall ranges 0.510.66 Sv, which is about 1.5 times larger than that in winter and spring. An annual cycle of the cross-strait sea level difference shows its maximum in summer and fall and minimum in winter and spring, whose tendency is consistent with the annual variability of the CC and its transport estimated from the ADCP measurements. Moored current measurements west of Cheju-Do indicate the clockwise turning of the CC, and the moored current measurements in the Cheju Strait for 1530 days show the low-frequency variability of the along-strait flow with a period of about 37 days.
