생활주제를 중심으로 본 3-5세 연령별 누리과정 교사용지도서 활동의 과학개념 및 교수학습방법 분석 (A Study on Scientific Concepts and Teaching and Learning Methods in the Activities of the Nuri Curriculum Teacher Guidebooks for Ages 3-5 in Accordance with Themes)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 연령별 누리과정 교사용지도서의 과학교육관련 활동에서 제시하고 있는 과학개념 및 교수학습방법을 분석하는 것이다. 연구자료는 교사용지도서의 과학교육관련 활동 772개이며, 과학개념은 물리과학(힘과 운동, 물리적구조, 전기와 자기, 빛과 그림자, 소리의 성질), 화학(물질의 특성, 물질의 반응), 생명과학(조직적 구조, 성장과 변화, 유전과 진화, 동식물과 인간의 관계), 지구과학(지구시스템의 상호작용, 지구시스템의 구조, 우주), 공학(설계된 세상, 공학 설계, 공학 및 기술과 사회), 생태학(환경보존) 영역에서 제시하는 개념을 토대로 분석하였다. 교수학습방법은 대소집단활동 유형, 자유선택활동 유형별로 분석하였다. 과학개념은 3-5세 공통으로 공학, 화학, 생명과학 영역이 주로 제시되고 있었으며, 물리과학은 전 연령에서 낮은 분포로 제시되고 있었다. 과학개념은 주로 '동식물과 자연', '생활도구', '환경과 생활', '봄 여름 가을 겨울'의 생활주제에서 많이 나타났다. 교수학습방법은 3세, 4세는 자유선택활동(과학영역, 실외자유선택활동, 미술영역, 수조작영역 중심), 5세는 대소집단활동(요리, 이야기나누기, 음악활동)이 많이 사용되는 것으로 나타났다.

응답자 특성을 고려한 가상 치유농장 시스템 개발요인 수요분석 (Demand Analysis of Agro-Healing Virtual Reality Therapy System Factors Considering the Characteristics of Respondents)

  • A Care farm is known to have positive effects on various people in psychological, physical, and social aspects. However, care farm services for the disabled, transportation disadvantaged, and socially disadvantaged are limited. This study conducted a demand survey in order to provide basic data for development of the Agro-Healing Virtual Reality Therapy(AVRT) system. The respondents were the ordinary person(n=127) and the disabled person(n=72), and the survey items consisted of 4 categories and 20 items, including intention to use AVRT, requirements for use, factors to be considered when developing the system, and content and program preferences. The intention to use a AVRT was found to be at a high level of 80% or more by respondent characteristics. In addition, similar results were shown in all items such as virtual reality experience, willingness to use, appropriate use time, and willingness to pay by respondent characteristics, and correlation by item was determined through correlation analysis. As for the conditions of use, both sides preferred rural types and were found to have the purpose of healing. However, there were concerns about dizziness in common between system use, and in the case of the disabled person, there were difficulties in purchasing expensive equipment. In the development of the AVRT system, the part of sensory priority, important technology level, and color preference were evaluated, and the preference of content and programs to be developed in the system was identified. Fruit, vegetables, flowers, and animals preferred mandarin, tomato, tulips, and dogs first, horticultural healing preferred harvest management for the ordinary person, plant cultivation for the disabled person, and forest healing and animal education preferred walking and dog-related programs. However, agricultural work was found to be a program with high preference for making processed foods for the ordinary person and creating an animal breeding environment for the disabled person. The result of this study is expected to provide reference data that can be suggested for the development of Agro-healing Virtual Reality Therapy system.

비타민 E와 불포화 지방과의 관계 - 들깨유(油)를 중심으로 한 동물의 비교 연구 - (Relationship between Vitamin E and Polyunsaturated Fat - A comparative animal study emphasizing perilla seed oil as a fat constituent -)

  • Perilla (frutescens) seed oil, which is widely used as a source of vegetable oil in Korea, contains a strikingly large amount (58.4% of total fatty acids) of polyunsaturated linolenic acid (18 : 3) which is one of the essential fatty acids. Our hypothesis was that vitamin E contained in this oil would not be enough to prevent peroxidation of this polyunsaturated oil. A comparative study was carried out using rats and chicks devided into seven groups with various diet combinations emphasizing fat sources for the period of four weeks. The level of fat in each diet was 15% and animals were fed ad libitum. Various diet combinations were as follows; perilla seed oil and sesame seed oil with and without vitamin E supplementation, tallow as a saturated fat source and perilla seed hull group (10% at the expense of carbohydrate). The fat constituents of control group were consisted of 50% vegetable oil and 50% animal fat. A few important findings are as follows: 1. Rats fed perilla seed oil lost their hair focally around the neck and suffered from a bad skin lesion at the same place. In chicks, yellow pigmentation both of feather and of skin was clearly observed only in groups fed perilla seed oil with or without vitamin E supplementation. The basis of biochemical mechanisms of this phenomena remains as an important research interest. 2. The mean value for hematocrit was significantly lower for the chicks fed perilla seed oil than for those fed control diet. This result seems to be attributable to the effect on the red cell membrane known as peroxidation-hemolysis of vitamin E deficiency. 3. The serum cholesterol level was higher for the rats fed perilla seed oil than for those fed control diet, whereas in chicks the group fed perilla seed oil showed lower value than the control group indicating that different animal species could vary in their responses to the same diet. 4. In pathological examinations, the sign of hepatic fibrosis was seen in the perilla seed hull group and it was noticeable that the level of hepatic RNA was significantly increased in the rat recovering from vitamin E deficiency. It is hoped that more detailed studies on perilla seed oil and hulls will soon be carried out in many aspects especially i) at various levels of fat in the diet, ii) in relation to dietary selenium level and iii) to find an optimum level of dietary essential fatty acids in terms of P/S ratio using various animal species. In the mean time, the public should be informed to preserve this particular oil with care to minimize fatty acid oxidation and should be discouraged from overconsuming this oil. 양돈농가의 경영관리 및 분뇨처리실태 분석 (Analysis of Current Situation for Management Skill and Manures Treatment in Pig Farms)

  • 본 조사연구는 충남의 번식돈과 비육돈 농장을 포함한 전업규모 100개 양돈장을 대상으로 경영관리 실태와 분뇨처리 시스댐을 조사 분석하여 합리적인 경영관리 지표설정과 적정 분뇨처리시스템 모델 개발에 필요한 기초척 자료를 얻고자 실시한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째는, 양돈장 경영관리중 평균 전문컨설팅 참여는 1년에 "4.56회"를 받는 것으로 조사되었고, 농장별 및 경력층간에는 유의한 차이없이 비슷한 수준으로 교육참여횟수를 보였다. 백신예방접종프로그램은 5점 만점 중 "3.86점"으로 보통이상 수준이었다. 번식돈과 비육돈 농장간에는 유의한 차이를 보였는데, 번식돈 농장이 4.13점으로 비육돈 농장 3.63점 보다 유의하게(p<0.01) 우수한 성적을 보였다. 방역위생관리는 평균 "3.27점"으로 보통수준으로 관리되고 있으며, 농장간에는 번식돈농장이 3.50점으로 비육돈 농장 3.07점 보다 유의하게(p<0.01) 양호한 관리상태를 보였다. 자금관리는 평균 "2.82점"으로 보통 이하 수준으로 운영되고 있어 사업계획이나 자금경영관리를 연간수요에 따라 집행되어야 할 것이다. 그리고 기술력 보유수준은 평균 "3.21점"으로 보통이상의 수준으로 평가 되었는데, 장차 축산국가와의 FTA 등에 대비한 기술 경쟁력확보에 최선을 다해야 할 것으로 생각된다. 둘째는, 양돈장에서 경쟁력 강화분야로는 "돼지의 질병과 치료"를 가장 희망하였고(43.4%), 그 다음은 친환경 생산관리(37.4%) 기술을 더욱 강화해야 할 것으로 뽑고 있었다. 셋째는, 양돈장의 분뇨수거시스템은 대부분의 농장에서 "슬러리시스템(44.0%)과 스크래퍼법(43.0%)"으로 돼지분뇨를 수거하는 것으로 조사되었는데, 농장여건에 따라 적절한 수거 시스템을 설치하여 활용하는 것이 바람직 할 것으로 사료된다. 넷째는, 돼지 분뇨처리는 많은 농장에서 "수거후 경지환원"을 가장 많이 이용(32.3%)하는 것으로 나타나, 분뇨의 저장기간, 온도, 방법 등 효율적인 처리방법과 적정 작목선정을 통한 경지환원이 이루어져야 할 것으로 판단된다. 앞으로는 친환경 자연순환시스템으로 경지에 환원하여 지력보전과 함께 우량 경종작물이 성장 할 수 있도록 자연순환형 분뇨처리와 이용 시스템이 구축되어야 할 것으로 생각된다.

좌골신경통 백서모델에서 침치료의 효과: 체계적 문헌고찰 및 메타분석 (Effect of Acupuncture on Sciatica in Rat Models: Systematic Review and Meta-analysis)

  • Objectives While sciatic neuropathy is one of the common symptoms which have the lifetime incidence of 13~40%, still there is no consensus about the standardized and the most effective conservative treatment. In addition, the importance of systematic review and meta-analysis of preclinical are growing as they could suggest possible effective treatment strategy for future studies. Therefore, we conducted systematic review and meta-analysis to estimate analgesic effect of acupuncture on sciatica in rat models. Methods Systematic search was conducted for all controlled comparative preclinical trials which assessed analgesic effect of acupuncture in sciatica rat models. Database of PubMed, EMBASE, Web of Science, CNKI and 6 Korean databases were used. The primary outcome was pain, which is evaluated by stimulus behavior tests in rat models. We assessed the methodological quality with Systematic Review Centre for Laboratory Animal Experimentation's risk of bias tool. RevMan 5.3 was used for meta-analysis and subgroup analysis was conducted according to treatment site, acupuncture point, treatment period and frequency used in electroacupuncture. Results 14 studies were finally included following our inclusion criteria. The data from meta-analysis indicated that the acupuncture significantly improved the result values of behavior tests for pain evaluation, compared to no-treatment control group in animal models (standardized mean difference=4.43, 95% confidence interval 3.16 to 5.69, Z=6.84, p<0.00001; χ2=68.02, p<0.00001; I2=82%). The results of subgroup analysis indicate that acupuncture treatment of unilateral site, distal acupoints, longer treatment period and applying 2/100 Hz frequency in electroacupuncture could be more effective. Conclusions Systematic review and meta-analysis of animal studies are getting important for the future clinical studies and the improvement of heatlh care. Therefore the results of the study would provide evidence and better design for the forthcoming studies.

산란계 농장 계란 이송라인의 누적충격강도와 파각발생율의 상관성 분석 (Correlation between Egg Breakage and Cumulative External Forces on Eggs during Egg Collection in Laying Hen Farms)

  • 본 연구는 농장 내 계란 이송시스템에서 발생하는 충격 정도를 파악하고 파란 발생률과 비교하여 문제점을 개선하기 위해 무창계사 12개 농장을 대상으로 하여 무선 전자계란(Wireless Egg Node II)를 활용하여 조사하였다. 전체적으로 충격 크기는 세척기와 건조기 연결 부분, 컨베이어 연결부분, 트랜스퍼, 정렬기, 집란 엘리베이터, 팩커, 계란 이송 연결부분, 알받이 순으로 나타났으나 농장에 따라 충격정도 및 충격발생 지점에 많은 차이가 있었다. 계란의 충격강도와 파란 발생률은 높은 정(+)의 상관관계가 나타났으며 일회성 충격보다는 누적된 충격의 양에 따라 파각발생이 높았고, 조사 지점에 따라 5~38 G까지 다양하며 총 파각란 발생률도 3.2%~14.5%로 나타났다. 파각 발생률을 낮추기 위해서는 난각 품질이 높은 계란을 생산하고자 하는 노력도 중요하지만 난각강도가 우수해도 최종제품에 난각이 파손되는 상황을 고려할 때 실금란 발생을 초래하는 계란이송라인 개선이 절대적으로 필요한 것으로 조사되었다.

태교의 효과를 과학적으로 증명할 수 있을까? (Is It Possible to Prove the Effect of Prenatal Education, 'Taegyo'?)

  • Objectives : 'Taegyo,' prenatal education, is steeped into Korean culture. Although there has been a traditional focus on providing education and care for the fetus in Korea, there is a lack of medical evidence for its effectiveness. Methods : The authors assessed the scientific basis for 'Taegyo' by reviewing the evidences. Results : 'Taegyo' in Korea began with the spread of Buddhist culture from China, and transmitted by word-of-mouth. The first 'Taegyo' book, the Tae-gyo-shin-gi, was published on 1803. Modern prenatal education is very diverse. However, only a few studies on its effect have been conducted. Development of medicine, especially obstetrics, fetology, pediatrics, psychiatry, and etc., has learned that many factors, including bad environmental conditions and maternal stress, influenced against the fetus and mother. As for the paternal side, occupation, smoking, and stress were also revealed to have consequences for the development of the fetus. On the contrary, adequate maternal nutrition, exercise, and music stimulation positively impact the fetal development and healthy birth. Conclusion : Traditional contents of 'Taegyo' were proved to have effectiveness from evidence-based medicine and animal experiments. We need further studies to explore the impact of prenatal education for the fetal development and maternal health.

Design and Experiment of a Micro Electronic System for Prediction of Alveolar-Gas Partial Pressures

  • In this study we have designed and fabricated an inexpensive micro electronic system that we call Alvitek. It can indirectly but accurately predict and display the partial pressures of alveolar oxygen and carbon dioxide for the patients in the ICU of a hospital. Alvitek consists of both hardware part and software part. Performance of the system is tested by animal experiment with pigs for various $F_{t}e_{2}$ and RR(Respiratory Rate) values under the mechanical ventilation. The predicted alveolar gas partial pressures are cprpared with the approximate alveolar oxygen partial pressures easily calculated by the physician’s bedside formula. As a result, we have concluded that the relative error of A-$aDe_2$ calculated by the bedside formula grows seriously for lower $F_{t}e_{2}$ values. The present prediction method of Alvitek is henceforth believed very meaningful to the physicians. The system hardware and software are described in the text.

The Therapeutic Effects of Optimal Dose of Mesenchymal Stem Cells in a Murine Model of an Elastase Induced-Emphysema

  • Background: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is characterized by emphysema, chronic bronchitis, and small airway remodeling. The alveolar destruction associated with emphysema cannot be repaired by current clinical practices. Stem cell therapy has been successfully used in animal models of cigarette smoke- and elastase-induced emphysema. However, the optimal dose of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) for the most effective therapy has not yet been determined. It is vital to determine the optimal dose of MSCs for clinical application in emphysema cases. Methods: In the present study, we evaluated the therapeutic effects of various doses of MSCs on elastase-induced emphysema in mice. When 3 different doses of MSCs were intravenously injected into mice treated with elastase, only $5{\times}10^4$ MSCs showed a significant effect on the emphysematous mouse lung. We also identified action mechanisms of MSCs based on apoptosis, lung regeneration, and protease/antiprotease imbalance. Results: The MSCs were not related with caspase-3/7 dependent apoptosis. But activity of matrix metalloproteinase 9 increased by emphysematous lung was decreased by intravenously injected MSCs. Vascular endothelial growth factor were also increased in lung from MSC injected mice, as compared to un-injected mice. Conclusion: This is the first study on the optimal dose of MSCs as a therapeutic candidate. This data may provide important basic data for determining dosage in clinical application of MSCs in emphysema patients.

Indigenous Plant Utilization and Farming System of Garo Tribe in North-East Bangladesh: a Means of Sustainable Biodiversity Conservation

  • A special type of indigenous knowledge on plants utilization and farming system was explored by the Garo tribe community in the North-East region of Bangladesh, which correspond to the severe dependence on homestead forest. Results show that the Garo are totally dependent on the natural resources and that the extent of their dependency is faithfully reflected in their ethno-botanical knowledge. Dependencies that the study addressed focused on various aspects of food, fruit, energy, timber and health care on plants products. Garo tribe community in Bangladesh followed agrosilvipastoral system in their homesteads. They have indigenous hunting procedure to trap the animal in the forest. A total of 9 foods, 15 fruits, 12 energy-producing and 11 timber species was found and recorded that the Garo used in their daily life. Moreover, Garo used 23 medicinal plants species and have vast indigenous knowledge about using herbal medicine in daily health care practices. The Garo women do mostly the household activities, managing homestead forest and helping agricultural field where men perform all hard working activities like ploughing, cutting trees, digging the soil, preparation of horticultural and agricultural land, hunting, etc. The overall quality of life of the Garo could be considerably upgraded if ethno-botanical issues and their own indigenous knowledge will complement with scientific knowledge. The findings of the study conclude that the conservation of the indigenous knowledge of the Garo tribe related to plants utilization can also be turned to good account in forest conservation and is an important tool in this tribal area of Bangladesh.
