헬릭스각의 변화에 따른 밀링공구의 변위 특성 연구 (The Characteristics of the Milling Tool Deflection According to the Variation of Helix Angle)

  • In the end milling operation the deflection of the cutter is an important factor affecting the accuracy of machining, with implications on the selection of cutting parameters and economics of the operation. Several studies were devoted to the end mill deflection and its effects, notably, providing a useful insight into the problem. Although the deflection affects adversely the accuracy, the flexibility of the cutter is beneficial in attenuating the overload in a sudden transient situation, as well as in attenuating chatter. The deflection of the end mill was studied both experimentally with strain gauge, tool dynamometer, laser measuring apparatus and on a finite element model of the cutting using ANSYS software. The deflection of machining tool with various helix angles was studied with FEM simulation and experiment. ANSYS analysis performed on the finite element model of the end mill provides deflection results which agree within 15.0% with the experimental ones.

카메라를 이용한 축계 비틀림 계측 장치 개발 (A Study of the Shaft Power Measuring System Using Cameras)

  • This paper presents a method for measuring the shaft power of a marine main engine. Usually, in traditional systems for measuring shaft power, a strain gauge is used even though it has several disadvantages. First, it is difficult to set up the strain gauge on the shaft and acquire the correct signal for analysis. Second, it is very expensive and complicated. For these reasons, we investigated alternative approaches for measuring shaft power and proposed a new method that uses a vision-based measurement system. For this study, templates for image processing and CCD cameras were installed at the both ends of the shaft. Then, in order for the cameras to capture the images synchronously, we used a trigger mark and a optical sensor. The position of each template between the first and the second camera images were compared to calculate the torsion angle. The proposed measurement system can be installed more easily than traditional measurement systems and is suitable for any shaft because it does not contact the shaft. With this approach, it is possible to measure the shaft power while a ship is operating.

Investigation and Analysis of the Occurrence of Rail Head Checks

  • Wear and rolling contact fatigue (RCF) defects are most important causes of rail damage, and often interaction competitive at present railway track. Head check is one of rolling contact fatigue (RCF) defects, and generally occurs in mild circular curves and transition curves that are set at both ends of sharp circular curves. Wear tends to limit the crack growth of head checks by removing the material from the RCF surface. In order to clarify the conditions of the occurrence and growth of head checks, the authors measured the interacting forces between wheels and rails and the angle of attack of wheelset, and carried out contact analyses using the actual profile data of wheels and rails. The effects of the lateral force, the contact geometry, and the wear rate at rail gauge comer on the formation of head checks were also analyzed by using the worn profiles of actual wheels and rails and the data obtained by a track inspection car. Some specific range of wear rate at the gauge comer was identified as having close relation with occurrence of head checks.

  • Research about tool condition monitoring has been done until now for product automation and unmaned system. But it is hard to apply it to the industrial field due to its cost and reliability. This paper presents the new method of tool wear measurement using Marpos gauge. This is a kind of touch sensor, so its cost is lower than vision system. And it is not affected by dust and illumination, which are important in vision system. This proposed method use tool clearance angle to measure flank wear. Experimental results compared with vision system shows that this method is available for tool condition monitoring system.

A Design of the Thickness Gauge Using the Compton Gamma-ray Backscattering

  • In this paper, we describe the results of various calculations performed for a design of the thickness gauges that use the gamma-ray backscattering method. The radiation source is assumed to be the $_{24}$1Am(60keV gamma-ray) and the detector is a single crystal scintillator in a cylindrical form. The source is located at the center of the detector with the collimator of a cylindrical shape. First, when gamma-rays are incident on a material with a constant angle, we compute the variations of the spectrum for the photons scattered into different angular intervals. Next, we compute for an optimal size for the collimator cylinder for a fixed detector size and an optimal distance from the detector to the material. Finally, we compute the number of observed photons for different thickness of two different materials, a plastic film and an Al foil.

공선조건에 의한 구조물의 기하학적 변형해석에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Geometric Deformation Measurement of Structures by Collinearity Condition)

  • 구조물의 변형측정에 있어서 Strain gauge, Inclinometer, Dial gauge등을 이용한 방법과 측지학적인 방법들은 기구설치의 어려움과 경제적인 면은 물론 정확도면에서도 많은 문제점을 안고있다. 이에 최근 다방면으로 활용이 증대되고 있는 C. R. P(Close-Range Photogrammetry) 기법을 토목구조물의 변형측정에 적용하여 이를 공선조건으로 해석하였다. 피사체로 현수교모형을 제작하였으며 재하변형측정 실험을 실여, Dial gauge, Precision level, 정밀삼각측양을 통한 측정값과 비교하여 그의 타당성을 제시하였다. 또한 실구조물에 적용시 발생하는 제반문제점들을 고려하기위해 Camera 회전인자 $\omega$,$\psi$ 노출점높이 Z$_{L}$, 기선경사각 $\theta$의 변화를 다양하게 실험하여 그의 특성을 고찰하였다. 실험결과 Dial gauge, 정밀 Level, 정밀 삼각측양으로 측정한 변형양과 C. R. P로 측정한 변형양은 10$\mu\textrm{m}$ 이내의 증차로 상호접근하였으며 X와Z 좌표에 대한 표준오차는 수렴각 약 60$^{\circ}$에서 Y좌표는 수렴각 약 90$^{\circ}$에서 가장 작았으며 Z$_{L}$의 변화는 오차에 별다른 영향을 주지않는다. 또한 $\theta$가 증가함에따라 본 실험조건하에서는 Normal Case에서 30$^{\circ}$까지 Convergent Case에서는 15$^{\circ}$까지 양호한 정도를 보였으며 $\psi$$\omega$가 동시에 증가할수록 정도가 급격히 저하되며 특히 Y좌표의 정도에 많은 영향을 미침을 알 수 있었다. 이들 결과로 볼때 C. R. P해석기법은 정도와 경제적인 면에서 각종 구조물의 변형측정에 그 효용이 기대된다.대된다.

  • This paper measured the range of arm joint motion for Korean 54 male in twenties. The subjects are measured directly using Goniometer and angle gauge. The static measurement variables are seven and the dynamic measurement variables are thirteen. The anthropometric datum are analyzed by basic statistical analysis, correlation analysis and regression analysis using commercial SAS program. The results of analysis are compared with American students anthropometric data by Laubach, 1978.

  • 본 논문에서는 슬관절 의지 장치의 무릎 각도 제어를 통해 보행 상태를 추론하는 방법을 제안한다. 슬관절 의지의 제어에서 절대위치 엔코더를 이용해 무릎의 각도를 측정하고, 스트레인 게이지를 통해 발바닥의 부하를 측정하여 현재 보행 상태를 추론할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 2개의 센서를 사용하여 현재 보행 상태를 4가지 상태로 추론하는 방법을 제안하였으며, 실험을 통하여 제안된 방법의 유효성을 보였다.

  • In order to evaluate the tensile behaviors of hoop direction for the nuclear fuel cladding tubes the shapes of specimen and jig fixtures for the ring test are decided with various conditions under the elastic-large plastic deformations. The axial displacement of the jig cylinders is converted to the circumferential direction elongations of specimen. The stress distributions on specimen are depended on the radii and locations of specimen and jig size and central angle. Therefore we calculated the stress distributions and decided the optimum shapes to get the uniform stress in the area of specimen gage length. Form the analysis the stress distributions in gate area are reviewed with the radii and location of specimen notch and the central angle of jig cylinder,. The optimum shapes of specimen and jig are proposed to the clad tube having 10.62 mm in diameter and 0.63mm in thickness for 16x16 PWR nuclear fuel assembly.

GdFe 박막의 증착속도에 따른 조성 및 자기특성의 변화 (Variations of Magnetic Properties and Composition with Deposition Ratio in GdFe Thin film)

  • DC 마그테트톤 스퍼터링으로 GdFe 광자기기록용 박막을 복합타켓 배열방법에 따라 제작할때 각 원소의 증착속도의 차이로 인한 특성의 변화를 구하였다. 조성은 증착속도가 증가함에 따라 Gd atomic %가 줄어들며 1.0 ${\AA}/s$ 이상의 증착속도에서는 다소 증가하였다가 감소하는 변화를 보였다. 투입전력에 따른 증착속도는 거의 선형적으로 증가하며, Gd chip의 수를 증가시킬수록 스퍼터링 효율이 높아지는 것으로 나타났다. 투입전력이 증가함에 따라 박막의 보자력도 증가하는데, 이는 Fe 결정립의 크기가 커짐에 따른 것으로 해석된다. 이 실험을 위하여 확산방지벽을 제작하여 스퍼터링에 적용하였고, 이는 재현성을 높이는데 효과가 있었다. Kerr angle gauge를 제작하여 ${\theta}_k$를 측정하였고 ${\theta}_k$는 증착속도에 따라 큰 변화가 없음을 알았다.
