  • The $4^{th}$ industrial revolution has brought innovation in the educational environment. The purpose of this study is to verify the educational effectiveness of smart learning environment especially with the computational thinking. A big data analysis was performed to confirm that computational thinking is the one to prepare the 4th industrial revolution. To teach computational thinking at university, educational design should be careful. This study verified the relationship between improvement of computational thinking ability and major of students with coding education. There was difference in effectiveness of the coding education depending on the major of students, it means students must be guaranteed to be educated by the differentiated coding education for different major. This study extracted factors of computational thinking through literature review. Thirteen research hypotheses were applied for the statistical analysis in R language. It was proved that expectation of class and improvement of abstraction ability and algorithmic thinking ability had mediation effect to the relationship between knowledge acquisition and problem-solving abilities. Based on this study, effectiveness of education can be improved, and it will lead to produce a lot of distinguished students who are ready for the 4th industrial revolution.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify differences in teachers perception on educational attributes and effectiveness of IPTV according to demographic factors. To investigate possibility of educational application, the participants of the study were teachers selected from IPTV initiative schools in elementary and middle levels nationwide. 55 teachers participated from 22 IPTV model schools nationwide, which were 9 elementary schools, 6 middle schools, 7 high schools. As results of research, there were some significant foundings. In terms of the perception on educational attributes of IPTV, there are explicit perceptional difference between "capital area teachers" and "the other regional teachers". However, there were no significant difference according to school level. Perception of male teachers were more positive than those of female teachers. Also, there were no significant difference according to teaching experience. On the other hand, in terms of the perception on educational effects of IPTV, we could conclude that teachers from metropolitan cities have more negative perception on IPTV than teachers from other kinds of cities have. Regardless of school levels, teachers showed merely fair perception on effectiveness of IPTV. There was significant difference between male teachers and female teachers in perception on educational effectiveness. Also, Results showed no significant differences according to teaching experiences. Future tasks for the development of IPTV strategies require specific need analysis of teachers and collaborative works of policy makers, teachers, researchers, and IPTV service providers.

  • In this study, we investigated the effectiveness of e-Learning, and attempted to identify factors affecting educational results. Based on survey data from 712 distance learning participants, we selected and verified factors affecting educational results through a correlation analysis and confidential test. Participants' scores were standardized and considered as a dependent variable representing educational effectiveness. Through several tests using the program AMOS, we suggest the most appropriate structural equation that can verify the causal relation of factors affecting the effectiveness of e-Learning. In result, the most important factor affecting score which is our measurement for educational effectiveness is job-possession. The fidelity has slightly direct influence to the score and the satisfaction has least indirect influence to the score.

This study utilized the source data of the senior job project old participant status survey of the Korea senior manpower development center which was conducted in 2013, and the non-proportional stratification sample extracting method was used which considered the project type, regional size, and cities/provinces. Sejong City was excluded from the survey target and the survey targeted 2,005 persons except for non-response or response-irrelevant persons concerning this study question. The collected material was analyzed by using SPSS WIN 21.0 program. The frequency and percentage were calculated to apprehend the general characteristic of the study target. Also, the regression analysis was conducted to examine the effect the educational satisfaction level had on the business effectiveness of the senior job project, and the hierarchical regression analysis was conducted in order to examine the mediated effect of the job satisfaction level in the effect the educational satisfaction level had on the business effectiveness of the senior job project. The main result of this study is as follows. First, among the effects the educational satisfaction level had on the business effectiveness, both interest level of educational contents and the job utilization of education had a significant effect on the psychological effect, and the interest level of the educational contents had a significant level on the physical/social effect, and the job utilization of education had a significant effect on the economic effect. Second, in the effect the educational satisfaction level had on the business effectiveness, the job satisfaction level was confirmed the job satisfaction level had a partial mediated effect in the effect the educational satisfaction level had on the psychological/physical/social effect. The job satisfaction level was confirmed the job satisfaction level had a complete mediated effect in the effect the educational satisfaction level had on the economic effect. Also, The job satisfaction level was confirmed the job satisfaction level had a partial mediated effect in the effect the educational satisfaction level had on the business effectiveness. Consequently, the educational contents according with the demand of job participants will have to be developed and the exclusive manpower must be arranged to conduct the education effectively. Also, making participants feel a pride on the job fully will largely contribute to raising the business effectiveness because the job satisfaction level has a positive effect on the business effectiveness.

  • Software courses required for all students regardless of their major in many universities. SW educational effectiveness model needs to be developed to enable effective communication among students, professors, and SW educators, and to identify the responsibilities of SW educators. SW educational effectiveness model based on literature review is composed of computational thinking, SW literacy, SW awareness, and SW attitude. Computational thinking, focused on analysis and design of problem solving processes, consists of decomposition, pattern recognition, abstraction, and algorithms. SW literacy involves viewing social development based on SW beyond information literacy in the digital age. The SW awareness and attitude were organized by considering the collegiate contexts. The SW educational effectiveness model will be used as the basis for diagnosis tools as further studies.

  • Recently, the topics of SW liberal-arts education are diversifying, from 'Computational Thinking(CT)' to 'Programming, Data Analysis and Artificial Intelligence(AI)' in universities. We expect that the diversification of SW liberal-arts subjects does not just mean that the learning contents are different, but also differentiates the educational goals and educational effects of each subject. In this paper, we conducted a case study to analyze the educational effect according to the educational goals of two SW liberal-arts subjects, CT and Data Analysis Fundamentals(DA), for humanities college students. We confirmed that the educational effect of 'CT Efficacy' increased significantly in accordance with the common educational goal of 'Improving CT-based SW convergence competency' in both subjects. However, we also analyzed the difference in the educational effects of 'CT(the goal of basic SW education)' and 'DA(the goal of major-friendly SW education)', which have different subject goals. 'CT' mainly showed an educational effect on how to solve general daily problems, and 'DA' showed confidence in how to solve major problems along with general problems.
