An adaptive control in the robotic GMA welding is employed to monitor information about weld characteristics and process parameters as well as to modify those parameters to hold weld quality within acceptable limits. Typical characteristics are the bead geometry, composition, microstructure, appearance, and process parameters which govern the quality of the final weld. The main objectives of this thesis are to realize the mapping characteristics of bead width through learning. After learning, the neural estimation can estimate the bead width desired form the learning mapping characteristic. The design parameters of the neural network estimator(the number of hidden layers and the number of nodes in a layer) are chosen from an estimation error analysis. A series of bead of bead-on-plate GMA welding experiments was carried out in order to verify the performance of the neural network estimator. The experimental results show that the proposed neural network estimator can predict the bead width with reasonable accuracy and guarantee the uniform weld quality.
The purpose of this study was to explore strategies used by pre-service elementary science teachers in planning a science lesson. The participants were six senior students from a national university of education located in the midwestern area of Korea. Data regarding their planning strategies were gathered through both thinking-aloud and observation. Research findings suggest that: three of the teachers had little understanding of the necessity of reviewing unit contents or prior learning for planning a science lesson; five student teachers relied heavily on learning objectives presented in teachers' guidebooks without considering their appropriateness; all teachers exhibited an intention of composing different activities or teaching approaches from teachers' guidebooks; only two teachers thought about learners' prior knowledge or understanding levels; five and three teachers had poor understanding of discovery learning models and importance of teacher's questioning, respectively; and five teachers paid little attention to assessment.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of the learning attitude and of learning satisfaction by health lifestyle. Methods: Out of total 640 questionnaires, 624 questionnaires were collected and considered to be valid for final analysis. The questionnaire consisted of 38 questions, including 6 general characteristics, 16 health lifestyle, 11 learning attitude and 5 learning satisfaction. The collected data were analyzed with SPSS version 12.0. Results: The learning satisfaction of the target group according to the general characteristics revealed a meaningful difference between nursing science and dental hygiene among departments. The learning attitude of the target group according to the general characteristics showed a meaningful difference among sex, grade, department and academic record. Conclusions: The learning attitude according to the health lifestyle revealed a meaningful difference in health oriented lifestyle, and the learning satisfaction according to the lifestyle revealed a meaningful difference between the health oriented style and the wellbeing oriented lifestyle. The learning attitude and the learning satisfaction according to the lifestyle of the health affiliated student according to the lifestyle were connected with each other. Therefore, it is expected that the students concerned about health reveal the excellent learning attitude and the high learning satisfaction.
This study was examining and analyzing the perception and significance for engineering teaching objectives and strategies designed for students. The optional sampled method with various levels was applied to all the junior students at college of engineering in Jeola North Province. The five applied universities were again divided into three divisions. The result of this study was as follows ; First, according to the analysis of students' conception about the significance degree of good education suitable for engineer and a number of a community, leaner's attitude and opinion learning were more important than any other instruction objectives. Second, according to the other analysis regarding to the significance degree of instruction objectives and methods, the teaching of technical operation was thought more important than any other instruction objectives. Overall, this study showed that the significance degree of instruction objectives and teaching strategies of engineering education had a little difference according to a various factor but they were arranged from three points (importance) and four points (very importance).
Purpose: This study was conducted to develop a simulation-based education course and to evaluate the results after the application for second year nursing students. Methods: This study was a non-equivalent control pre-post design. Based on the clinical situation scenarios about patients with COPD and MI, a total of two simulation-based learning modules was developed. Pretest and posttest was conducted to evaluate the difference in critical thinking disposition, problem solving, and clinical competence between two groups of 102 students for the experimental group, 2007 and 90 students for the control group, 2006. The experimental group conducted a clinical performance evaluation in the final test, on December 10, 2007. Results: In the experimental group, knowledge related to learning objectives was significantly increased and core intervention was performed almost exactly, but the same result was not observed in domains of analysis of laboratory test, and nursing education for patients. Self-evaluated clinical competence and problem solving level were significantly more improved in the experimental group than control group, but critical thinking disposition level wasn't. Conclusion: In conclusion, a simulation-based education course needs to utilize self-directed learning module like computer-based learning through web contents and MicroSim and video productions for improving nursing students' critical thinking.

The rectnt studies on the learning of the scientific concepts have suggested that most students have misconceptions related to the contents to be learned and that those misconceptions exert their influences on the subsequent learning of the content Those facts necessitate the identification of the misconceptions before the instructions and the preparation of the instructional materials based on those misconceptions identified. Several studies also revealed that such biological areas as cell division, reproduction and fertilization were ranked among the most difficult areas for high school students to learn. Therefore, this study had its triple objectives as follows: (1) Identification of misconceptions in such areas as cell division, reproduction and fertilization. (2) Investigation of the current high school biology textbook I's as the sources of those misconceptions. (3) Development of teaching materials based on the misconceptions identified and the problems in the textbooks analyzed. This study identified several misconceptions held by high school students of biological concepts related to the conceptual areas of life-continuity, and found the problems in learning of the high school biology textbooks. Based on the misconceptions and the problems, a teaching/learning model and its content material were developed at the final course of this study.
In the sustainable waste management, the necessity of environmental education which improves acquisition of the knowledge, attitudes and values for the environment is being emphasized to help students make environmentally desirable decision and promote responsible environmental behavior. However, the environmental education in high schools, as a whole, would be susceptible to many problems caused by tile educational administration focusing only on the college entrance examination. Therefore, this study modifies and applies a program using four teaching/learning methods (Investigation study, Internet-based learning, Field work, Issue analysis study) which deals with the sustainable waste management as the learning subject for the environmental education, and tries to find its effects on the students' environmental sensitivity and environmental conservation behavior in high schools. The main results of this study are summarized as fellows. First, the waste management program had little influence on the environmental sensitivity of experimental groups, while it had positive effect on their improvement of the environmental conservation behavior. Second, there were little meaningful effect on general environmental conservation behavior, but there were some significant results to environmental conservation behavior related to the sustainable waste management. In addition, positive results were found in ecomanagement and consumerism, whereas there were no meaningful results about in persuasion and legal action, which were sub-domains of the waste management program. Among the waste management programs, the school waste investigation study had the most positive effect on the students' recognition and solution of environmental problems as well as improvement of environmental conservation behavior. The easiest one of the four teaching/learning methods was the Internet-based learning, while the most difficult one of them was the issue analysis study. Consequently, in order to achieve the goals of the environmental education in the academic field, there has to be selected the most suitable one of the teaching/learning methods and to be applied to the class, according to the detailed objectives and loaming contents for the environmental education.

The purpose of this study was to find out and analyze the science teacher's teaching methods. A total of 35 teaching methods were abstracted from the previous studies and the relating literatures. An instrument to measure the frequencies of using methods was developed and then tested to middle school science teachers. The Results of two factor analysis methods were compared. The results are as follows: The instruments's reliablity coefficient(Cronbach ${\alpha}$) was 0.7707. The teaching methods which middle school science teachers have used frequently were represented as the proposing of the learning objectives, the deductive teaching, the experimental activities by teacher's guide, the summarization after explanation, the reading text etc. Also, it was revealed that they have not use the diagnostic evaluation, the formative evaluation, the experimental activities by student's design, the instructional medium. By confirmatory factor analysis, the 1st factor included 13 teaching methods and 2nd and 3rd factor included 9 and 7 methods respectedly. The meaning of 1st factor was interpreted to stimulate student's learning motives. And the other's were about the development of instruction. In exploratory factor analysis factors were overlapped or more fined. These were due to the structure of factors.
The purpose of this study was to analyze needs of convergence education on engineering and human resource development (HRD) for students in H university for increasing creative problem solving skills. To achieve the research purpose, needs analysis was conducted to students through in-depth interview about students' project experience for graduation in H university. The research finding shows that the converged areas between engineering and HRD are: connecting technologies to social context, problem solving skills, leadership, communication skills, and teamwork skills. Based on the derived five converged areas, objectives and method of the engineering-HRD convergence education are discussed. As an effective teaching and learning method, a problem-based learning and a project method are suggested. Finally, considerations for successful implementation of the engineering-HRD convergence education are discussed.
Nursing is indeed a practice discipline with experiential learning in clinical practice areas comprising an overwhelming portion of a Nursing Student's education. The statement is used to provide a basis for discussion of some issues involved in relation to clinical nursing education. However the lack of substantial research in the area of clinical nursing education would suggest that this 'heart' of the nursing student's professional education has olng been ignored. The purpose of this study is to critically review and analysis then suggest effective approaches of clinical nursing education. First. the curriculum can be developed by faculty consistently. Curriculum design begins with the writing of philosophy and the selection of objectives for the program. The philosophy must include a statement of beliefs and intrinc values about human being. nursing and teaching learning process. Second. faculty practice can be narrowed practice-theory gaps. Third. clinical teaching strategies can be used many different methods in order to facilitate development of clinical judgement and decision making. Fourth, clinical teacher's rols can influence student's learning attitude and intrinsic value; relating to students as mature individuals; creating an atomosphere where in the student felt comfortable approaching the instructor; providing support crisis situations. Fifth. clinical nursing evaluation can be developed the integrated models.
